I talked to LKS Associate last year back in September 2023. He was being paid 75k in Delhi Office.
Some say they've increased the pay to 14L i.e. 1.18L per month all the way from 75k. I don't think it's true at all.
Increase from 9.6L to 14L doesn't seem feasible.
Wadia no discount for sure
Here's my sincere advice to first gen first year law students.
- study in exam and do well
- apply for internships 6 months in advance
- do well in internships
- PPO guaranteed from tier 1 law firm
(btw I'm in 3rd year of law school ππ)
It takes years and decades to build an institution, it's not like as soon as someone sits on the chair, things start changing. The changes that Sudhir has brought in are for the long term. The change in the quality of faculties, the development of the infrastructure is massive. The change would be visible from the batch of 2027 onwards when the increased batch size of 180 starts graduating...
TIMES OF INDIA: BHOPAL: National Law Institute University (NLIU), a top law school, is in the midst of controversies with the sacking of two professors, allegations of financial irregularities and another section of faculty members demanding setting up a commission to review its working as statutorily required under the law.
Trouble began in the premier law university last week when two senior professors, Prof. G S Bajpai and Associate professor Dr Moin Mustazar were 'removed' by the executive council for allegedly awarding marks to three Ph D students without evaluating their answer sheets.
Does GSB have LLB? Was that a mandatory requirement for NLUD VC position? Many had protested when Lizzie was selected for TNNLU but she had the foresight to have completed a LLB degree at some point during her stint at NLSIU.
MKS did his LLB after doing LLM at Nottingham. In UK (and maybe elsewhere as well) having an LLB is not mandatory for LLM. Preferred, yes. But MKC had a PhD in International Relations from JNU and a body of work and that was deemed good enough for LLM entry.
It shows the priorities of the Vice-Chancellor. The university spent 35 lakhs on the convocation, there was no need for lights for a week. Previous convocations have been conducted in less than 15 lakhs. An increase in the frees should have been utilised in the improvement of academics, and infrastructure rather than buying cars and music systems.
But the biggest advantage of NLUD over any other NLU comes due to the locational advantage and the accompanying benefits that advantage comes with.
See, if you're 1000% sure that you don't want to do anything else in your life other than corporate law firm job, you should probably go for NUJS, NLUJ etc. That's all that there is in those NLUs.
But if you want to keep your options open - be it litigation, academia, UPSC, Judiciary, CAT, higher studies, Politics, etc - the best place for you will be NLUD. Not even NLS can provide you with such a pool of open options.
Remember, even for corporate law firm jobs, you need to intern a lot. NLUD provides you with its full campus space even during vacations so that you can comfortably intern in Delhi/Noida/Gurugram. The metro station is 200 metres from our back gate. (Not to mention, we've an entire market, liquor store, Vegas Mall, and a PVR at the exact same distance of 200 metres).
Because of its location, you can easily pursue UPSC, Judiciary, CAT coaching if you want to. You can easily intern with a firm or chambers all months of the year (post class model). You anyways get 4 internship slots in a year. Add to that your post class months and you can pretty much equip yourself with the best experiences possible.
We've had Rhodes Scholars from NLUD over the years, even last year's. We've had people clearing Upsc and judiciary every single year. We've had a student who became an MP. We've had people joining foreign law firms. Our exchange program abroad is strong.
TLDR; if you want to keep your options open while at the same time securing a corporate law firm job, go for NLUD. If you're 1000% sure that you'll only do a corp law firm job and nothing else, go for other NLUs.
Hope this helps!
Its performance is nothing compared to c&m and Axiom5
If you're looking for internships (caveat: which may or may not convert), try targeting months other than Nov-Dec and May-June (more crowded because of sem breaks), try finding email IDs of HR rather than the generic ones that send automated emails. Call up places and ask whether they have vacancies. Law firms can be tough but anything else is achievable! You got this. It requires patience but something will turn up eventually :)
My issue is that i do not think I can deal with the stress of working at the place, i have been here for 3 full months and it feels like deadlines never end and i never get any time to myself. on top of that, i feel like i am not doing a great job with the tasks i am assigned and feel like i might not be cut out for law at all. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do? or am i just being a coward and the correct answer is to accept this and suck it up- to stop complaining basically
I'm currently one week into my internship at this IP law firm which doesnβt offer much work, they take in interns only through contacts though. I'm eager to make the most of this opportunity and increase my chances of getting a callback or PPO here.
Does anyone have advice on how I can get more work and responsibilities during my internship? Is there anyone who was able to get a call back here? Any inputs/advice would be appreciated.
prince for a1
aow for pa
arthashastra for partners only
1) Salary given to an A0, A1 and A2
2) How is the work culture?
To clarify: A0 is 10 including a 3 lakh bonus. For sure subsequent ranks would also follow the pattern. Utter bullshit
Tere Ganloo ko Yale of the East ka status de denge.
Also if there is a difference between the pay for Corporate team and the DR team.
