Bangalore and Delhi offices across firms have wierd harder policies because of less attrition and less work. Try interning with Gurgaon or Mumbai, ull be surprised.
In Gurgaon, people get offers post callbacks. Don't know about bombay. If you get a good team, it's not as hard as Tier 2s.

If someone knows someone from this company please send this thread to them. Students are not get getting jobs how can they keep us waiting like this?
1. Would the specialised LLM help me transition into B&F, given my lack of work ex?
2. Would my age be a potential barrier to entry, since most of my peers would be fresh grads.

If I could go back in time would probably again choose a career in law.
It is common knowledge that academia is not often opted by the smartest of the batch. If they are still inclined towards that they would not be sitting in any one of these law colleges or NLU's maybe except the top 3-4 ones where you can even call it a 'home coming'. Either you pay them so much like JGLS and they stay or they are the top 2-3 colleges. I'm pretty sure you can't even say all the professors are great at these law schools too. So yeah, when you compare the other parameters, it's only exams and attendance.
At the end, we cannot deny that pvt university students faces lot of challenges and discrimination by the top tier law firms. But still many are shining out because of their hardwork.
So please take a chill pill and don't target any college on this basis.
The "Tax Lawyer" is such bad stamp that it frustrates you to the core. Headhunters are just not interested in knowing your talents and no place takes you seriously because it is their incompetence that they dont understand tax.
I was from the top 3 NLUs and got into indirect tax out of sheer coincidence. Being in the industry for so long, I felt my talents and potential was being wasted. Neither there was job satisfaction nor pay parity. If only I had gotten into any other kind of litigation, literally any other kind, all the opportunity doors would be open.
I was so depressed with my life, I had to quit law altogether as I felt trapped and not in control. It has been tough but I have been trying to rebuild my life, everything away from the law ofcourse, coz who will hire me now in law when all I have done is f***ing tax.
It made me feel better about my decision
Let the hunger games begin! The Management Committee and the MP are all busy filling their own coffers, while us juniors toil away!

Go to DHC website, choose by judge name. Since the IP has just changed, search for the last two judges - Sanjeev Narula and Anish Dayal. Go through the kind of decisions that they have given in past 6 months. It'll help you formulate the kind of advice you'd give to clients relating to contentious trademark issues.
