We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Sudhir says that he aims to recruit 125 faculty members and have a 1:15 teacher: student ratio. This is a complete carbon copy of the Jindal model and itβs now absolutely clear that Sudhir is aiming to hack into QS through this tactic and get a decent ranking, like Jindal.
The other way in which he is emulating Jindal is in offering courses on AI. He says that there are 10 courses on AI being offered. Frankly, this seems a bit much and I hope that itβs not just a gimmick.
He also points out that NLSIU has produced 25 Rhodes scholars (though he left out the record of the past 8 years π).
To be fair to Sudhir, his job is to market NLSU and heβs doing it very well. Just like Rajkumar markets Jindal very well.
Meanwhile, here is the ranking this year:
1. NLSIU2. NUJS
3. GNLU
4. NLIU
5. HNLU
6. Symbiosis Pune
7. NLUO
8. RMLNLU
9. NUALS
10. Lloyd
The obvious question to ask is whether Nalsar, NLUD, NLUJ and Jindal participated. Iβm guessing no, as a proper top 10 would include these 4.
NLUs
ILI
BHU
Etc.
Please rate above mentioned colleges too.
(Please refrain from commenting unnecessary stuff about LLM)
Others...No.
2. Campus life is eventful, and it helps that the campus while large is full of people. The student community is very closely knit.
3. Placements - See the brochure.
4. Companies visiting - see 3.
5. Good for whatever you focus on. Look up alumni, most practice IPR but there are a few standouts in litigation, tech law and corp M&A.
6. Too vague - aspirations are internal.
How good is campus life.
Placement for LLB students?
What companies visit?
Good Only for IPR or general llb.
Judiciary/prosecutor aspirants there?
Others feel free to suggest basis their experience which might vary. (Pray your ass you don't get a sulky partner who hates your college as his ex happens to be from there or likewise, happens :P)
Do you feel successful? Why are we like this? What's the point of slaving like this? My Equity Boss works on Sundays and Saturday evenings... What even..

Try in-house counsel role before entering academia.
Just a piece of advice: people will be mean in academia too. In the meantime, keep your professional life apart from personal life don't let anyone whom your working professionally, to define you personally. Don't think too much. Learn to let go. My gf is like you only. Her emotional nature doesn't get in my way of loving her even more everyday. Infact, her emotional nature is responsible for 10 yrs of my relationship. Being reasonably emotional might not help in professional life but it does in personal life. You'll have empathy and respect.
Following tips might help you:
1. Interact with as many people as possible.
2. Don't look for validation outside especially at work place. Validation is only req from close friends and family. Work people can shove validation up their asses.
3. The way you look is just fine. Anyone saying otherwise either has small **** or ****. Don't give rats ass about them.
4. Try and laugh when someone makes fun of you. It'd okay if it's not personal.
5. If you did something bad and someone's scolding, keep repeating in your mind that you won't let it happen again and say sorry. Don't say "how could I let this happen". Even shardul Shroff and Harish salve commit mistakes. It is absolutely fine. Committing mistakes is overrated. Get over it, there's life beyond the person who's scolding and the mistakes you committed.
You'll do just fine. Have faith in yourself. Only you can stand up for yourself and it better be you than me or someone else.
Just to clarify, I donβt think I have a personality disorder or such. I do get hurt easily, but I overcome it after a couple of days, especially if I switch my mind off and play computer games or go to the gym, or hang out with friends. So, in my view itβs not chronic depression, just temporary depression and sadness. Just that I am perhaps more thin skinned than the average person.
Second - considering your research skills, don't think you should think that far
Getting into a law firm like SAM and others is difficult, but even more difficult is to perform and be the best, year after year.
The key is no cash income, but business holding.
2) very small minority? because all black people have to think like dems? its a big big country. Black americans dont by and large have a problem with high skilled indian workers. They have a problem with mexicans from south of the border who would actually take the jobs these guys do. I havent met too many of these people, but i can read surveys, I can watch interviews, I can read research and reports put out by Batya Ungar Sargon and Nellie Bowles and a number of other people. Most of these reporters. arent conservatives. Theyre liberals or leftists.
3) I dont think racists are good people. I just think youre using an awfully big brush to paint all working class americans as racists and that is not a view point that imagines people complexly. I think there are racists in america- I dont think all the racists are white. I think race based prejudice is an awful thing- but your fear of poor people strikes me as gross coastal elitism.
4) sure. uneducated illegal immigrants might be running from all sorts of problems. That doesnt invalidate the economic impact of that immigration. Do you think its a sustainable solution for the United States to keep importing these people? or do you think trying to defeat the cartels and bolstering rule of law in those other countries through foreign policy interventions would be better? Do you think people are immoral for caring about the poor working class people who are losing their living because of the import of a slave caste?
These issues are clearly more complex than a simple- dems good trump bad narrative. So why are you so keen to push that propaganda? Why demand everyone else turn of their brain and go along? why express so much outrage and shock that people might disagree with you?
Are "Tier 1" NLUs like nlsiu and nlud better than Symbiosis for corporate law, and which tier does JGLS make?
Show your intent in the meantime by doing courses for the same and trying to handle matters that related to IB (Cap marks, B&F, PE, Private client and so on). Some part hinges on your gmat score (in the new FE, try above 720, it is really tough now) and even more on your essay.
IB sounds good bahar se, but the working hours are even more insane than in our line of work, so make sure you actually have a passion for this. There are other fields like consulting (MBB, EY Parthenon, Deloitte and so on) that have similar hours but not as bad as IB.
I had a cousin who quit within a month from a renowned firm because he didn't want to subject himself to that for the rest of life. He's doing REALLY well abroad now
