We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

No. NLUs will remain the best for law in same way IITs and AIIMS are for engineering and medicine.
TLC will be at best as Govt Engineering Colleges.
NLUs have the problems of commons
Jindal has a owner so they continue to build the organisation while NLUs engage only in rent seeking

And nowโฆwhether she is a lawyer??? Dude, stop being so judgmental. All that matters is whether she is a good person and whether she has common interests as you. Thatโs it.,
My mother is a bit apprehensive since someone told her to avoid marrying me off to a lawyer or law enforcement official (policewoman) if taking the arranged marriage route.
What is it like being a lawyer married to a non lawyer really? And how hyped is the danger of being screwed over by spouse should there be any marital discord? Is the kind of title I stated a very high stress job? She's 25 and been working ~ 3 years. Does her job entails any kind of threat to her life?
I was contacted myself by another girl who is a .. criminal lawyer herself. We only texted one night and then she's not texted back.
Please advise in as lay parlance as possible. Thanks.
After all, the SBA is taken extremely seriously by the international community.
This is just delusion.
Vice chancellors specifically are not tenured faculty, part of whether they get to stay and how they get to stay is unfortunately or fortunately decided by student popularity. Students in other universities have managed to get their VCs out after petitions and such. I worry that all the work that is going to improve the university, after all these years of sleepwalking, will take a backseat to stupid politics that helps no one and nothing.

Also, it might help to not exist in both extremes โ you shouldn't be losing hope in yourself, but if you're in this scenario, then you possibly also need to introspect more before going ahead with the assumption of 'I'm competent' โ you've graduated recently and like most A0s, probably know little of value to a firm. A0s are not hired based on their competence and value they bring โ that's negligible โ they're hired on the basis of the potential they show in being able to put in the hard work and learn the ropes. Accordingly, restructure your application to show precisely that โ tangible demonstration of sincerity in everything you've done so far, baseline knowledge and a much deeper interest in the area of the law, and good communication skills.
Lastly, keep a keen eye on Linkedin and Bar&Bench's law firm news columns to constantly figure out who may be hiring where.
All the best!
AND
Try litigation.
OR
Work at small firms if you're dire need of jobs:
Wadia Ghandy is switching to bigger office in Ahmedabad.
OR
Apply for long term internship at LKS Ahmedabad. You'll get paid at least 18k per month which is more than enough to cover your expenses in Ahmedabad.
AND
Have faith in yourself. I took 2 years drop before clat. It's okay if you're a 2022/23 grad and is not placed yet. It could or couldn't be fault of your own but there's no point in going down that road. The best you can do is go forward.
Be smart while applying. Banglore is not a legal hub to begin with. Ahmedabad is expanding with lks moving to New office and so does wadiya. Also, kco opened new office very recently. Consider going to Ahmedabad for it's cheaper. Do the following from tomorrow:
1. Apply to wadiya and/or lks for internship.
2. Regularly apply to firms in Delhi for job interview.
3. Talk to your friends/confidant regularly.
4. Cut down on your expenses.
5. Stop using social except LinkedIn.
6. You must think some other fellow is nothing compared to you but has a job. Everyone thinks that but such thought process isn't going to bring any good. If you can't be happy for other person.. at least have the maturity to only focus on yourself.
7. Exercise or walk. Don't meditate. Start meditation when something good happens.
8. Idk whether world is cruel or not.. if there's only luck factor or not. There's no point in thinking about such things so don't waste time. Focus on yourself. Try to grow. You must have had amazing days be it with your friends or family or cousins or even strangers. There are people who have your best interests. They deserve that you're happy. Just consider doing those things I mentioned.
All the Best!
I'm going to save this link. Lmk if something good happens. I'm counting on you โค๏ธ๐ค.
Remember, we're not anti-students; we've been students once too. But we're still professionals with a lot of work (& some life) and most students fail to respect any of that by reaching out clearly unnecessarily and being woefully ill-prepared. Just don't do that, and noone will hold a grudge.
1. Not all NALSARites get decent jobs. The bottom 30% of the last few batches has ended up at a mix of random organisations (as inhouse counsels), litigation chambers, and lesser known law firms โ often with disappointingly below average pay. These batch sizes have been mindlessly been increased (the first 150+ batch is yet to get placed this year, leading to various anxieties among these groups), and both salaries & vacancies at well-paying (T1/T2) firms have almost not been increasing for nearly a decade now โ making the situation likely to get way worse. So, are you sure you want to put 60 lacs in the drain when there's a good possibility you'd not get much monetary return out of it?
2. There's a good amount of similarity in the kinds of questions asked in major entrances for law and economics. And frankly, they're some of the easiest entrances in the country (For example, CLAT hasn't had more than 60k applicants for almost the past decade, as opposed to the ever increasing intense competition in medical, engineering, or management exams). Most importantly, at present, they're heavily tailored to be far easier for anyone with a solid background in English education. So the harsh truth is that with your privilege, you'd anyway be further ahead of most of the applicants coming from semi-urban & lesser privileged backgrounds. Why not wait a year and give these entrances a proper shot? What's the worst that could happen? You'll most likely still have this FN option next year. Indian law firms barely look at your CV, noone will likely even bring up a drop year anywhere. But, if you utilise this opportunity and get a decent rank, you get to save a ton of your parents' money & use it when you actually need it in the future.
Either way, all the best!
Where as law everything that you can imagine you have to pay for - knoweldge / search engines (live law, SCC, Manupatra), internships, relocating for job (so many engineers have their relocation costs covered by the company).
Law is the most unwelcoming field - you work almost 14 hours, get paid half as people in other corporate jobs, get not even half the perks, can't even take off when you really have too, have no personal life.
Be friends with the ones who are least active on the batch group. They're the ones who have a life.
Also, maybe take a break, you're not a 39 year old yet.
