Ma'am, I'm only a newly graduate and, yet, I genuinely feel maybe it's time for you to go back and think about your past, how your childhood was, how fun you had back in college days and then think about these past 7-9 years in law firm (how-so-many there might be), and maybe you'll realise that whatever your job at a law firm may be giving you, is not worth/comparable with what life gives.

Life is very short, and there's truly a lot to achieve and do. But in our ambitions we shouldn't trun blind to the wrongs around us. In your case, 2 things are patently wrong; 1. The actions and demeanour of your partner, and 2. Your inaction against such things. You're at a crucial juncture of your life, don't let anyone sabotage yours and your child's well being.

Leave that job if you must, if maternity is not feasible at this point. But don't continue the last phase, with all the stress law firms being with it. Take a break.

Partner at another law firm here at a T1 (smaller platform according to cs) heard from sources that in the last shit storm this morning- ▮▮▮ hasn't even bothered to stand by his employees and hear his side or have a basic conversation let alone an invesgation. Which top lawyer doesn’t know allegations doesn’t amount to moral turpitude. Our firm would have stood by their employees/partners when people are going through shit and sudden knee jerk reactions

Just read the article of bar and bench which says that a senior partner of a renowned law firm, a mumbai based lawyer has been terminated by the firm since he has been booked for sa of his own daughter!!! This is very dreadful news considerinv people of our field are indulging in such heinous act. I am wondering which law firm is this and who is the partner. The details have been kept private

Came across this post and while everyone might really want the insider scoop on this, let's just take a step back and sit with it. I'm sure this isn't easy on the mother of the child. I commend the law firm in question for taking immediate action.

Those interested in litigation, seeking to grow their own practice in future. Should they go for ADPO exams?

I concern is that it will restrict me to district courts and letting me grow to high courts. What should be done?

Moreover, how does the world reflects on those who work as ADPO, as I've not yet stepped into district court practice (working for last 2 years in supreme court), so I'm not aware about the social construct against ADPO. Do I retain a future in corporate litigation world after being ADPO for a few years maybe?

The mother of the child alleged inaction on the part of the authorities. According to the FIR, she stated that it was only after the National Commission of Women (NCW) intervened that the police registered the FIR.

A seniors chamber is the wrong place to begin a career as arguing counsel because arguing is the seniors only job. But it could be a great place to learn how to become one. A small law chamber or standing counsel for patent office or TM office might offer better opportunities. Law firms usually have big clients who will not accept the risk of a junior appearing so with very few exceptions, they’re not good places for a career as arguing counsel.

Honestly, good on NALSAR for remaining stringent on the bare minimum criteria. As a final year law student who has done multiple running internships during on semesters, It is more than possible to manage attendance with internship requirements. In a 4 month semester, without any exemptions or deemed, you can take almost a month off on your own attendance quota. Add in the exemptions you’d get for interning, mooring, etc. and this number can go up to another few weeks. All in all, out of 60 mandated classes, by yourself you get to miss around 18 (assuming 70% attendance requirement as per BCI guidelines) and another 10 days we say as exemptions for internships or moots (although I’m sure the number will be far higher). So you miss 28 lectures out of 60, leaving 32 for you to attend. That’s almost 50% of the classes you’d have to attend in a semester (but it will be even lower, since the above is a very conservative estimate).

If despite this you can’t attend even the remainder of classes, it’s 100% on the students. And there’s no reason a university wouldn’t validate a genuine reason, like long-term illness or bereavement unless the genuine reason for you is: I was interning and hence couldn’t attend half the classes. It’s also super unfair to students who maintain their attendance despite multiple commitments to let slackers write the same exams as them.

Unless your university specifically informs the firm of the cheating incident, I doubt it’ll be an issue. Cheating is serious but people write repeat exams for a lot of reasons: attendance shortage, absence during original exams due to clashing commitments, medical emergencies, etc. Just don’t repeat this in the future is all.

agreed but they do different kind of work. JNC's and SS's work style also varies a lot. JNC's is a lot more challenging but they are both good at their own places. But as a part of this firm, you will have to face MD, the managing associate and JST (the managing partner's daughter), which is the toxic and drainign part of the firm. and since they have afamily sort of culture, these two are never going away so yeah

They never said they are A0. I am an ex associate and they mostly start with 35k fixed for A0/ freshers in both lit and corp. Also Copr is not corp work per say, it is real estate mainly- 90% of the work. The person above also must have been atleast an A2 at the time of their comment.
