Here’s the correct answer. Arts degrees are useful of you want careers teaching the arts, journalism, publishing etc. Mostly low-paid work and limited openings. On the other hand, STEM and business degrees lead to more openings and more lucrative jobs.

Law can go in either direction — either like arts (for human rights and gender justice types) or like business (corporate law) and in a few niche cases like science (a handful of sophisticated tech law counsels in the West).

How does this interview prove anything? If I provide a clip of an interview which went wrong for a STEM grad then does that mean that BA LLB is better than BSc LLB? Try to think and provide a good argument for your position instead of latching on to the first vaguely relevant thing that you come across.

There are several children of sitting SC judges/HC Chief Justices — who I am not going to name here for obvious reasons — who are 10PQE but no where near "outearning their law firm counterparts". Exceptions aside. In the longer run, say, 15-20PQE, yes. At 10? You're imagining.

This is so less. Anyone post 10PQE in litigation who is equally successful as the law firm counterpart would be outearning their law firm counterparts. Other than maybe financial reasons like loans/supporting parents, or for sheer love for the practice area, idts anyone should law firm, especially for the money. You'd earn far far far more in litigation, be much better known, have more avenues like senior designation and judgeship, AG, etc.

Stay at NLUJ. ABS is not a certainty for you or anyone, coz it a stringent selection process; Indian Rhodes, as few says. Consider the consideration for being selected in it as a complimentary benefit, rest you'll certainly enjoy NLUJ, even more if you're into sports.

NUJS lacks infra, half the time people are busy with brownies (back in my uni time, when I participated in a competition there, they literally had brownie stalls), lacks discipline (not that you'll miss it at NLUJ, but not that much... Moderation is imp, which is not there in NUJS - unless you wish to be a junkie👀), and more so, until and unless you've option for NLS, NALSAR, NLUD, don't worry about other options, they're all the same, this is something I first understood after joining a firm back a few years ago, and since that have seen the systematic application of this idea by nearly all firms... NLUJ will get you placed, at least in India, at par with NUJS... So your call.. NLUJ will atleast have infra.

I've been allotted to nluj, and will be eligible for the aditya birla scholarship (as I fall within the top 20 of the merit list), however I also have the option (I'm assuming) to shift to nujs during the spot rounds after university starts (I will not be eligible for ABS at nujs)

Aditya birla is no easy task, but I deeply believe in my abilities and thoroughly understand their expectations. At the same time I wouldn't want to gamble a better college in pursuit of a pipe dream.

IPAC is basically a BPO, handling outsourced political IT cell work like social media posts and videos. That and opinion polls on the ground. These are the two major verticals.

PK leaves apparently to fight Bihar elections. But he loses it horribly and a resounding rao from SC on a related matter. TMC owners publicly berated PK earlier although he helped them defeat BJP in 2021. And now IPAC is embroiled in all this. Murmurs were always underplayed. The catalyst for the arrest is the leaked sting video that was released by the TMC a few days ago. He was considered not just the pride of NLIU but the NLU community as a whole, for being such a pioneer. Today is thus a day of great embarrassment and shame for all of us. However, if he is innocent and being framed, then the whole NLU community must step up and support him. Let us see what happens.

The rest of the comment seems to be a measured assessment of what NALSAR has lost in terms of attrition but it also hopeful about the situation improving over the next few years. However, since some of the comments are making a direct comparison with NLSIU, I recently came across a striking piece of information. Sidharth Chauhan has a post on LinkedIn which mentions 19 names of alumni from the BA,LLB programme who are now part of the faculty at NLSIU. Their names were mentioned in a post about the retirement of Dr. V.S. Elizabeth, a well-known Professor of History, who has taught all of them when they were undergraduate students. Surely, the presence of a sizeable number of BA,LLB alums (out of the current faculty strength of 110+) must have pushed up the standards of teaching at NLSIU. This is sufficient evidence to show that NLSIU has in fact pulled far ahead of its competitors in recent years. You may or may not like Sudhir's personal demeanour, but there is no doubt that he has delivered spectacularly well when it comes to faculty recruitments. Even his worst critics on this forum will be hard pressed to deny the positive implications of 19 well-qualified alums devoting themselves to their alma mater.

All of them who have been recruited have studied at those institutions pre-pandemic.

Back then, with active student bodies who actually cared about their future of their institutions instead of "living in the moment", they were powerhouses.

Also, the real question should be - why do their alumni prefer nls instead of giving back to their alma mater? Sounds like a retention failure.

Calling something ‘shady’ just because you don’t understand it is a bit telling. Partners don’t risk their reputation on people they don’t trust. Maybe focus on why that trust exists instead of speculating about someone else’s success. Every firm has someone who complains about ‘favouritism’ instead of asking why they’re not the one being chosen. This sounds like that person. Get a life and some help!

Irrespective of whether this was an accident or self-inflicted, this is not the first time a student has died by a fall in the hostel. The message is clear:

- Make the railings in the veranda full-length vertically, so that no human body can slip through

- Improve the hostel facilities: A duty, overcrowded hostel breeds negative feelings. A clean, spacious hostel gives positive vibes. The current condition of the hostel is literally like a slum.

- Have more recreation facilities on campus to remove stress. Maybe you don’t have enough space for a football field, but you can make space for badminton, table tennis, snooker, board games etc.

- Finally, ban all mentally toxic influences on campus, especially dividing politics.

Relieved. I never really clicked with anyone at university but kept trying and now that it’s ending, it feels like I don’t have to keep putting in efforts anymore which never materialised anyway. I’ve realised I’d rather be acquaintances to everyone I meet than try to make friends and it’s helped me quite a bit :)

MNLU-NISM LLM may help a bit if you want to be absolutely focused on securities laws and are looking for a job in the sector.

But for a general career in financial sector regulatory laws (involving banking, exchange control, securities, insurance, etc.) LLM from NLSIU may be a better choice (given the pedagogy and the limited options highlighted by OP).

No. It is always a bad idea to look at a the music put out by a few people, or even the mainstream music industry at large, to say that the quality of music has declined in the recent past. There are hundreds of thousands of passionate artists, big and small, who create an abundance of quality music. If anything, what is clear is that the people who make such arguments are not exposed to a wide variety of music.

This is a bit of a long post. I acknowledge that most of the people here are working professionals and I value their time, but if some can spare the time to read this and guide me, I'll be extremely grateful.

I will be going to HNLU this year. When I see people mention their T1 colleges and talk about future prospects, I can't help but feel a little disheartened. I have been seeing a lot of people say that it's declining and that one should just totally abandon Tier 2 and only aim for Tier 1. What adds to this concern are the scarce placement stats that I have seen regarding the college - it has mostly been AZB as the sole T1 offering campus placements. Closing doors from the onset scares me a bit. I don't know if the situation has improved or will improve.

Another question in my mind is whether or not I should take another chance with CLAT (will be my third time if I would). I basically see these things as my future options:

1. Continue with the college despite some reservations and whatnot. Here, I think I might have to make peace with the possibility of moving to a T1 after a job or be confined to a handful of T1 firms.

2. Take a partial drop. However, I don't trust this enough as I feel like that pressure of doing well in college might linger around in my subconscious at the very least and I might end up messing up both. Apart from this, the problem that I encountered on the exam day just seemed like something that I couldn't have anticipated, it was one extremely convoluted sentence that I just couldn't decipher even after re-reading it again and again, which costed me T1 NLUs. Though I now know how I could've tackled it but it seems like there always will be one unforeseen thing for me to trip on the exam day (happened in my first attempt as well with an unexpected AR question).

P.S. - I know that this is a forum for professionals but I feel like I can get some real information from people who are at least already in the field here. In other places, it's mostly just aspirants giving advice to one another.

I'm a UR male candidate and just calculated my CUET PG 2026 score to be 192. Based on previous trends, I'm fairly confident aboout getting into LC1 or LC2 at DU.

My primary goal during these years is to intern as much as possible. My goal is to build a career in Environmental Law and Policy Research, leaning on my previous background in conservation.

Im stuck between LC1 (2:00PM-7:30PM) and LC2(8:00AM - 2:00PM). Are firms and offices more likely to accept a morning intern (9am to noon) or an evening intern (3pm onwards)?

What other factors should I consider? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
