What is the need for introducing a 3-year LLB course at NLUs? NLSIU was established following the 14th Law Commission Report, which suggested that the 3-year LLB was no longer sufficient. That is why the 5-year integrated course was started. However, now those same NLUs are reintroducing the 3-year course. They lack proper examination standards, and the quality of students being admitted is very poor. So far, NLSIU, DSNLU, NLUO, and CNLU have already started this.

I am a 4th year law student. I come from a tier 2 college. Recently I interned with CAM and now I have an internship offer from SAM after repeatingly sending my CV to them every now and then.

But I have always wanted to intern at Trilegal and I have been constantly applying but I have not received any response..

What could be the reason ??

If yes, would this site be a reliable source for career and professional advice? What locus would a 19 or 20 year old have to comment on the work culture at CAM vs SAM, or the practice areas of SC lawyers, or studying abroad? Happy to defer to the wisdom of this demographic when it comes to KPop and TikTok… but on the above mentioned subjects??

To firstly introduce myself, I am born and raised in a tier-3 city where speaking English wasn't modus operandi, growing around with people that had little to no exposure to english as a language wasn't uncommon. This environment has plagued me to the point that I lag behind my peers when it comes to my communication skills. I in my first year believed this issue to be trivial in nature but interning at big law firms has revealed to me the damage it has done to my job prospects or my carrier in corporate law itself. The reason why I am writing this post here at LI is to welcome any advice from people who have went through this and have rose above it or any advice from people who have seen their loved ones go through it. Please no trolls as it is matter of my entry into the corporate world. We already know how tough is to get into the legal corporate considering the huge competition but limited jobs. Thank you

Totally Agree. He probably started as a visionary but he has now lost his vision. Earlier Jindal used to offer a lot of scholarships to students and cared about quality. But now any tom, dick and Harry who can pay the fees can get admitted into the college - you can totally forget quality. They also stopped giving good scholarships and it has turned into a full blown business with Mishra ji bragging about admissions intake every year like the marketting team of a company hitting their target. There are so many new schools now - I wouldn't be surprised if he starts an engineering wing and medical wing as well. Adding on to the fact that these guys actually advertised offering LLB(Hons.) Course without having the recognition to confer such degree for which students filed a case against the University in Punjab and Haryana High Court. When a college becomes too big to handle than its appetite, the quality goes significantly down and that's what's happening to JGLS these days. My biggest fear as an alumni is that one day JGLS will be equated to Galgothias University because of the declining quality and I would have to be embarrassed about my college. Hopefully that doesn't happen in the future

I already have 2-3 NGO internships from my school days so not looking to do that now. What kind of internship will be the best for me? corporate or advocate/judge in district/hc/sc courts? or maybe at a tribual (pretty confident i could get one a ITAT)?I have an internship lined up with a small corporate firm and one sc justice but I think it may look bad on my CV because it could be considered too early for that atm. Also I dont know much about anything law related right now honestly so idk how I'd be able to even assist them. Help me out please! I go to an NLU btw.

I never even understood why such prestigious scholarships are ever handed to law students, as a lawyer. They bring nothing to the table as opposed to engineers/ doctors/ research science graduates who actually create products and innovation, which should receive funding. Law is just like finance, an ancillary service.

Since when does cap marks pay more than M&A? I'm assuming OP does M&A because he said he was tired of negotiating deals. Of course if you compare Manan Lahoty's team at CAM to a relatively unknown GC team, you would see cap marks as more high paying. Compare his team to any of the top M&A teams at Khaitan or Trilegal, you would get the real picture.
