Work-hard, prepare for CLAT, if you are able to be in the top 100, then scholarships wont be an issue (not sure, how tough is it to fundraise these days). If money is an issue, then complete your engineering, work for a couple of years and then complete your 3 year degree in law. In any case, talk to your family, plan and execute. Too early in life to feel helpless. If you need inspiration, there are enough and more examples around. Best of luck !

The easy way to remove this controversy is to just allow 50th percentile to sit for counselling in the first two rounds and then open the counselling to anyone who appears for the exam for the next two rounds

reservation has nothing to do with the controversy, it is more about the percentile, if you want the 15th/25th percentile to appear the cut off for each category would be that. Just allow everyone to join, the seats left are non-clinical in private karnataka tier 2 hospitals

From what i've seen in the thread's replies the absurdity of the so called "marginalized" people is honestly, appalling; considering that continuing reservations (in the name of atrocities committed in the past) will not erase the divide or ease hatred between people of different categories, if anything this will add fuel to the fire more for encouraging casteism;

The young minds of today who originally had no intention of going down the path as their ancestors will accumulate hatred in their mind due to not achieving a seat in any University or public office of the state despite their merit, while a person from their batch achieved the same despite scoring low (just because of his surname), do you honestly believe that the unreserved category people (not just brahmins or kshatriyas) will not feel apathetic to the concept of reservation and backwards classes instead of empathetic?

This is a significant reason why many people say that as a General Category person you should leave India (which they do) or that brain drain is still happening, lack of opportunities, govt not supporting you unless you are falling in any minority, family income is below 8L/year (EWS is capped at 10%) or you are handicapped (understandable).
Even today the concept of rich people from SC/OBC/ST community deriving the ones who truly deserve the benefit of affirmative action from their own jati's kind (the poor ones) but what's even more surprising and horrifying is that people from these communities oppose creamy layer inclusion!

1. Don't waste your time at Saikrishna & Associates. The firm is currently on a hiring freeze, also if you're scheduled for Delhi/Noida office, the scenes are horrific.

2. Plan your internships accordingly, look for places that have vacancies (specially if you're in your 4th year), don't just apply and intern.

3. Stand out in your internships from the other candidates, make your face value, be sharp and consistent. Dress Well.

There is very limited option in prosecution. You can consider doing contractual work in the media industry and/or do assignment related stuff. I am in a T1, but it is not worth it. You put in longer hours and the salary is not at par with other teams (unless it is CAM).

In-house they usually look for prosecution + contractual work. But honestly, those kind of jobs are very limited. Cause unless its pharma (B2C) or FMCG company, they usually do not need an inhouse dedicated resource for IP.

So best bet is to do something apart from IP.

CESTAT isn't actually hearing and disposing off many matters. Plus their remit in Excise and Service Tax has already come to an end now. So, no, I dont think its lucrative, unless you also cover GSTAT. Also, big importers and exporters as a client doesn't matter unless the matters are complex which would give you high fees.
