We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

- Kapil Sibal opposes SIR in SC
- Mamata says she will "shake the nation" if SIR continues
- EC says 2.6 million voter mismatches found in Bengal so far, number likely to increase
So which side are you on? Do you believe SIR is a genuine attempt to remove false voters and Bangladeshis? Or a massive exercise to disenfranchise Muslims so that the opposition loses?

How do i go about building connections here with only 6 months to my graduation, please recommend some good advocates (non-senior) who run a good and professional practice in Lucknow.
Also, anything particular i need to keep in mind (apart from the usual discrimination/prejudice/nepotism (caste/gender/religion) which is a norm in most T2 cities).
I lack contacts or references, and I would greatly appreciate any assistance in this matter.
I sincerely appreciate your patience with me.
On the other hand, most of the businessmen promoted by TMC are literally roadside hawkers who became millionaires overnight, through illegal activities and money laundering for politicians.
And you may also note the difference between JGLS and Sister Nivedita Uni.
- in 80 seats in the 2021 election, the TMC’s winning margin was less than 10,000
- former TMC MP-turned-independent voice Jawhar Sircar says there are probable 2 crore fake voters in Bengal and SIR may delete them
Bottom line: The wheeler dealers of NUJS know what’s coming.
The MP of Karanjawala & Co seems pretty problematic imo. I mean as a client him and his firm would definitely be one of the best but as a workplace that place seems like a nightmare.
I tried applying there for internship multiple times but they replied by telling that there isn’t any slot left.

That's why - no matter what. Avoid private universities of all kinds.

Can't generalise, but I really need to start talking to people without being forced to (idk how else to describe office scenes)
The IDIA ICUL NLUJ competition earlier this year had its result announced multiple weeks later. What is even more insane were the results, which NEVER CAME OUT. Multiple concerns were raised, but the OC simply refused from offering any justification and disappeared with the money.
Then came the Pranita Mehta Essay Comp. The results were supposed to be announced in July, more than 4 months ago. Again, there has been no update on it whatsover. Complete silence.
They should definitely come out with a justification for all this, especially when they have been charging money for registrations. Paying 500 bucks and working on a 3000 word well-researched essay only for the OC to disappear is so wrong to all the participants. Or maybe just stop with all the competitions altogether and refund everyone's money.
But empathy works both ways right. What about the mental health of the people who work under you. It’s one thing to say someone may be struggling, but that can’t become a blanket excuse for inefficiency or behaviour that affects everyone around them. The support staff, juniors, colleagues, and teams who have to constantly cover for mistakes, handle last-minute chaos or deal with unpredictable conduct also take a huge mental toll. I rest my case. I will not reply further.
Before we rush to judge, mock, or label someone as incompetent or difficult, it’s worth remembering that lawyers are human too.

What I don’t understand is: where do I go from here?
Hinge was a wasteland. Bumble wasn’t much better. People swipe without intention, without curiosity, without even the basic ability to hold a normal conversation. It’s like the collective attention span has collapsed.
Are dating apps just performative now? Has everyone moved on to something else and I didn’t get the memo? Because I’m clearly missing whatever modern system is in place.
Please help.
Spot the birds! 🤣🤣🤣😜
