Most of these people would love to teach at government universities. That was their natural home until government universities were systematically defunded and destroyed by the current government. And its because government universities have been destroyed that youre paying 10 lakh a year for a law degree that you should have gotten for less than a fifth of that. Yall act like youre the prize. The delusion is insane. I truly dont know one professor at JGLS who has any sense at all who is thrilled to work there, for most of them the sense is "well its not great but i can live with this." Why do you think you have any leverage to exhort people into leaving when theres clearly discontent among the faculty themselves. Do you know how many people JGLS hires every year? do you think theyre doing that because theyre benevolent job givers? its because theyre desperate to find anyone at all who will work there for a while given conditions. Because their attrition rate is so pathetic they cannot keep the illusion going without constantly hiring newly qualified llms.

Does the law prohibit parents from going on youtube, finding videos of music lessons and having their kids watch them? No. Does the law even prohibit children from finding age appropriate youtube videos for themselves? likely not. What the law does prohibit is for young people to have their own accounts. using which they can be groomed into producing CSA material, or be exposed to other sorts of harmful material. Algorithms are real and these companies have no incentive to not constantly feed your kid content that keeps them engaged and in mental distress. Do you even know what it is that youre concerned about or is this some ill informed knee jerk reaction? So much outrage can be avoided if people did the basic due diligence of finding out what it is that the other side is seeking to achieve.

Youtube is just a digital library, theres all sorts of content on there that adults may be mature enough to consume responsibly (debatable) but children are not. The solution to problems like yours are to fund childrens libraries so they have access to all the resources children should appropriately have. Not to entrust companies who still knowingly allow CSA material on their platforms with the minds of kids. This is basic safeguarding.

Hi guys! i am a first-generation college student from a non nlu college. n feeling little devasted coz i applied to 150+ job application through emails but hardly getting any response. many low profile firms do not have the budget, some of them like trust legal has some internal process of cv selection which i didn't get it how they are doing, i didn't applied to tier 1 firms for the same reason. i am not able to navigate this process of securing a ppo or even a job for that matter. going to be graduate very soon.

After so many exits and few upcoming ones, seems like S&R has given up on growth. Firm is in complete denial, there is utmost biases by them towards non performing people. Some of the people are not even covering their own cost. No collaboration in the firm amongst teams/partners, no processes, no trainings. Looks like chamber practice of few people with no leadership to look forward for. Everytime in meetings, suggestions are noted but no implementation.

Few partners (including 1 practice head) are in discussions with compete firms.

Stick to one thing - let's say MnA. Tell them you learnt how intricate and diversified due-diligence goes into MnA deals. You got to understand it's disputes side, trademarks related DD, Tax implications, etc.

Find the commonality that exists in all these practice areas and connect them together to answer that common query.

If money is the only thing that WILL keep you sane and happy throughout your life go for MnA, PE-VC. Remember there is no pay parity even in T1 firms with respect to disputes team.

If money is something that is least of your concern then choose Disputes over Gen corp. Yes gen corp, m&a...they all can get monotonous at some point. Unless you're doing Public MnA things are going to be same from the rest of your life. PE-VC goes the same route only with certain changes here in there and keeping up with govt. guidelines.

I've seen people who have lost their interest in a year or so because they got into gen corp looking at the money aspect only.

Hey, I am also in a similar situation - have some advisory work, reviewing agreements, working on client memos, working on agreements (drafting and reviewing), I get to sit on client calls, but I don't know if I am learning or growing. I am not sure about number of hirings but yes freshers hiring for 2026 is done. Anyways considering recent exits one of the teams is anyways bloated. Also, the hope is they pay at least existing A1s as much as they love to project salary of freshers and then not act surprised when people leave across bands for payment disparity.

Yes NLU or Non-NLU everyone is welcome to intern, they are encouraged to apply and the selection process at no point entails the factoring in of your Law School. Past internships however are given weight, but can be easily offseted if your "Why do you wish to Intern?" is original and not AI written.

To give a lil background I scored well in my 10th-12th boards, got into DU and now I'm doing law from a decent state university. I messed up my grades during my first year so my current SGPA honestly isn't upto corporate standards. I've bagged like 5 internships, including litigation ones and some with boutique law firms. Can somebody please suggest what I'll need to do to get noticed by like decent tier 3 sort of known-ish firms? I'm in my 5/6 sem.

Yes, GS is back and is engaged in many cases already. He is representing the State of Karnataka in the presidential reference regarding powers of governor as well as appearing for State of West Bengal in the DA case. He also recently appeared for Amazon in their Competition case. Plus, he has been doing a bunch of constitutional and commercial matters before the SC.

Just one perspective - sometimes good culture also leads to very good quality of output, resulting in financial growth of the firm. In that case, you keep on growing, since firm is growing. However, its very difficult to maintain culture when a certain scale is reached. And then things kinda go downhill.

Two points:

1. The problem with Gen Z is its only when you work with them, you realise is it a typical gen Z kid or not. By and large, the typicality is generally found and very few are exceptions. So initially, you're bound to be painted by the same brush, till you prove yourself. I've few gen Z team members and they've been superb folks. I started without any preconceived notions and just looked at overall work and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, which was better than I expected.
