The NLSIU SBA did reach out to Rahul a few times, but the dates did not work out. Rahul spends a large part of the year abroad, and when in India he is mostly confined to Delhi and busy with political work. It’s actually easier for NLUD to invite Rahul.

Reason: we are starting at 4Tr base. Almost 8 times smaller than the US's. If we go into per capita: India's per capita is 31 times less. When China was our size, it grew in double digits for over a decade. 2) When it comes to disposable income: India ranks around 140th (disposable income per capita is around 3000$) India: huge market, with very little discretionary/disposable income. In simple words: we have a huge population. But, very few can afford high quality things. 3) This is one of the reasons why India puts significant luxury taxes even things like ACs. When people witness such stupidity, anyone who can leave, leaves. 4) India ranks #1 in net millionaire migration (NMM) * NMM (number of millionaire leaving divided by number of millionaires there are in India) for 2024 is the highest in the world for India 5) In remittances India ranks #1 in the world. Indians are smart/hardworking, they go abroad, work, make money and send it back "home". I don't know if this is a healthy sign or something to be proud of. 6) To accelerate our economy we need to spend money on: Innovation, Healthcare, Education India's spent on education and healthcare (lags the global averages) this again is a fact. Last but not the least: we have a massive incentive problem -- Civil servants who are supposed to make public schools better, send their own kids to private schools. Politicians who are supposed to formulate better & (long-term) economics policies change their kid's citizenships. Civilians/Media who are supposed to ask the right questions: keep doing fake whatsapp forwards. And, keep harping on 40Tr$ economic narrative.

I am the cusp of hiring some people, and starting an office, and I want my office to be top notch for my colleagues, in terms of comforts, facilities - which will increase productivity.
I have worked at various places across the years. My most favorite office was the Ballard Estate offices of Bharucha & Partners. The office had a very unique - closed office type layout. A room or two for a team, some rooms had 3 associates only. Sufficient desk space, outlets, fans, lights, and other desk ornaments like a card holder, mugs. However, their chairs at that time were very lacking. Given the physical separation between rooms, it used to be fairly quiet and gave a good sense of privacy and focus. Did my best focused work there. The office also had good infrastructure - sepoys, pantry staff, housekeeping staff and very robust reception and secretaries. I think the office was previously occupied by TTA, who had furnished the office, on the same model as some UK firm. If I could afford that office, I would rent it right now in the blink of an eye!
Worst firms I have worked at, all had open office cubicle type layouts, they're loud, distracting, bright, cold, impersonal. And of course uncomfortable. All the fixed type desk places all get their desk heights wrong. That's an art in itself or a science in carpentry. (I am looking at you Lower Parel!) And the lack of space!!!!
So guys, please describe a comfortable, productive office for you!!! It could be anything! Warm Lights, fast printers, folders, stationery, pantry! anything!! Please do tell!!!
