Most of these are such basic amenities that no halfway decent institutions should be without them. This state of affairs should be widely publicized and the students should write to the Chancellor if possible, along with holding formal protests. Any random local college is nowadays posing as an NLU and deceiving students and parents by defrauding them of their hard-earned money!

P&B is quite well known since their primary practice is WCC and they pay well+have good matters. Other big names like Tri, SAM and KCO too have great teams.

At P&B the pay is 12LPA from what I have heard. Although they are stringent with internships- mind telling us how you landed one?

I don’t doubt that the person experiences nerve related issues but I would also be curious to know how one develops such issues working in a law firm? Or is it genetic/hereditary and not law firm related? Especially after only 3 years in the profession. Would like to protect myself from developing something like this. Knowledge is power.

considering that the market is going to shit, and a lot of law firms are not hiring as much (if at all), how do i make sure I'm employed?
I don't see day zero as a viable path anymore, are there any firms that are actively hiring? any practice areas that will have a boom? if I find myself with no job prospects at the end of law school what are my steps from there?

From T1 interned during summers 2024 and received no update yet. They started the process for one corp team in March but no results regarding that and no subsequent developments for the rest of the teams. PPOs rolled out to only students from 2 colleges. What is happening? Are they on a freeze? Do they not want to hire this year

How are people to then access all the vast pages and pages of law materials which are available only in English (or primarily in English, with materials in translation not necessarily being reliable), once they land up at law school? Court judgments from around the world? Legal theory materials? International law materials? Read Eliav Lieblich's primer to research in international law. He clearly says that if you can't 'access' materials in English or French, 'your research will unfortunately be limited'. Starting a bonfire of academic standards in the name of so-called 'inclusion' is dangerous, unhelpful and problematic. How much easier to do something like this than to actually try and ensure that children from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds get a good education, which gives them the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to be successful in a global marketplace. How much easier to pontificate about grand theories of neocolonialism or whatever other crap people tend to pontificate about these days, instead of just imposing a hard, significant tax on the rich (maybe imposing a world-wide taxation regime like how the U.S. does) and using those funds to build more schools, recruit more qualified teachers, etc.

To implement there would need to be big time systematic change in the curriculum, then what about the law firms? The court needs to look at the bigger picture i.e english is the ultimate language in India without which you cannot survive in corporate law firms, why sell a dream to people which would won't be achievable

I just can’t take it anymore. I am tired of hearing these law firms name, T1 glaze, partner names, their rank and this that. I tired of the word called internships aka free ki majdoori/ PPO ki hope. Am I the only one who feels like this. Why can’t our profession be like other profession where people have a life outside of their career. We really need a lot of a changes in the legal sector working culture.

Apart from faculty poaching, which I agree that he's been doing well, I honestly want to know of the specific changes that he's introduced as an admin. I haven't seen or heard anything from the ground. Someone here mentioned that he wants all PhD scholarships to get stipends/fellowships. A great move indeed if true. However, at present, NLSIU offers only a few such fellowships, something very similar to some of the other NLUs. Insofar as differences in pedagogy is concerned, that's a matter of opinion honestly. The only tangible way to see the product of that would be if the NLSIU faculty produce great research and publications, which they haven't been doing in the last six years, or if their students go ahead and demonstrate great skills in their chosen careers. The latter may take time, I agree, and one cannot say for sure whether that's happening right now, yet that's the precise reason why his greatness cannot be pronounced upon conclusively at this stage.

I would give him the credit for honestly trying two things, getting faculty with good academic background consistently and regularly, and refusing to dilute academic standards merely on student demand. Honestly, these are very good qualities for a VC to have under the present scenario. To the best of my knowledge, no other NLU VC is managing to do either. I'm not commenting upon Sudhir's own scholarship, because that is not of huge relevance in his performance as a VC. Even the likes of Menon didn't have a stellar publication record, but that didn't stop them from becoming great administrators. One thing that Sudhir has done that is unlikely to help NLSIU in the long run is the rapid increase in batch strength, but I'm guessing that he didn't have a choice given the financial condition. Overall, I think that both the sides here should dial their tone down and let the man function the way he chooses to and has been selected for by people who get to decide about the university. You want to talk about his legacy, do so after he's stepped down.

OP is asking for criteria for scholarships which is not given anywhere. I don't see how asking for that is lazy.

Anyway, if you look at the profiles of people who have gotten it in the past years - it's obvious that they give it to people with the highest number of medals.
