I am studying in nalsar university of law and i just want to say things have not been great mentally. There are some mental health issues which will take a lot of time and effort to get better, I thought about dropping out but can’t go at home (i am kind of disowned by my parents due to some reasons) i have been on extensive meds and everyday feels like a struggle. I genuinely need people to rely on but i know you can’t get that support in nalsar. I can’t go home, I can’t go to my parents, I just need some people to rely on in this college. I am genuinely asking for help, what to do, i will even leave this college but i don’t know where will i go? The same ngo who helped me to get a place in this break? They also don’t want me to leave this place. i don’t know where to go, please help.

Please read the U.S. constitution. It makes clear that the rights are intended for citizens, not for other people. The terms of reference of this debate were established years before you were even thought of. Plus, you want to go there, they are not inviting you to come. Therefore, what you think doesn't (and really shouldn't) matter in the slightest.

I completely agree with you especially on the point that non-lawyers can't just barge into the legal field with their tech knowledge. The only way for legal tech development is from the inside towards the outside and not the other way around. I have been exposed to the legal and technical side of data protection compliance from day one of my professional career and I realised the gap between lawyers and techies when it comes to compliance which requires legal as well as technical understanding.
Legal tech is a buzzword for those who are comfortable with the current system and refuse to learn a new skill in the name of being a 'lawyer', what they don't understand is that legal tech can help this profession on every level, from college students to senior professionals.

From my experience while interning at the BLR office, I can tell you that the firm has only one full-time office i.e blr. The rest are probably a marketing gimmick. They have an intern's WhatsApp group for the duration of your internship that has all the people from blr office plus one lawyer whom I assume is from del. During my internship, it only had one other co-intern (also from blr). The lawyer from delhi reached out to me for an assignment more than once so i don't think there is a separate interns whatsapp group for other locations. So, my best guess is that there's only one lawyer in Delhi and one proper office in blr. Their website says they have four offices (but they mention the address of three offices). They are ranked in blr and delhi (that is why I asked for an internship in Delhi but was offered blr which I took), but I feel it's the same set of people working out of both "locations"

There's no straitjacket formulae across offices, but it depends on PQE, designation, performance, ability, capability, etc. There are examples of people leaving to join other law firms, some big law, some not, a lot have gone independent. This is across offices.

Coming back to OP, yes attrition is high, the work is very demanding. If you cannot deliver, too bad. People are asked to resign to save them the embarrassment of being fired, some are fired. This is a part of every law firm and is normal. Old people leave, new people join. New people leave, newer people join. The cycle goes on ad nauseam.

First, take care of your health. You can't get or keep any good job if you are not healthy. So your decision to take rest in this sem is correct. Secondly, the other things (moot/ADR) can be done during this year to improve your CV. If nothing else try writing a paper and getting it published. Even if you have to be in bed all day it can still be done.

I am a recent grad from a non - NLU, non - MHCET college and have no offers in hand, interested in a very niche practice, you could say IPR related, SUPER STRESSED, have an internship lined up (after grad) with an internship at a Tier 2. Eat drink eat drink. I don’t know - maybe your life would be more fulfilled if it didn’t focus on consumption all the time. Go on a trek maybe ? Or volunteer your time for an animal shelter ? Do something for your parents that makes their life better ? Do something good for someone else ?

She’s my dream girl. Very beautiful and kind hearted. She is a non-law student. We are good friends. But when it comes to dating she is friendzoning me and is reluctant to take things further. Background: 17 y/o based in Mumbai. I’m choosing between:

BBA — Christ, Bangalore

BA/BBA-LLB (Hons) — Christ, t-5 NLU

My end goal is clear: front-office IB → PE/Alt investments → eventually run my own outfit. Not here to “explore” I’ve already mapped out the next 7-8 years. Targeting top 10 MBA in India (IIM A/B/C or ISB), plus stacking CFA + modeling work.

Here’s where I’m stuck:

BBA pros:

3 years = more time to intern, do CFA, prep for CAT, and build skill compounding

Directly aligned with core finance → valuation, modeling, deals, etc.

BBA-LLB pros:

Some say law gives a “niche” edge for M&A, corp structuring, compliance

Slight flex in terms of intellectual signaling

BBA-LLB pros:

I talked to a Zonal investment lead he thinks BBA/Bcom is saturated and LLB might cut through the noise since it's more of a specialized degree. But my gut says if you're gunning for real finance (modeling, raising, buy-side), then law is a distraction.

Question to the board:

Does LLB actually give an edge in breaking into IB from India or is it cope for people who won’t build the real stack (CFA, IB internships, Excel/PPT chops, top MBA)?

Hello. This feels like it was written by me. I'm still in law school and while I'm cordial with most people, I wouldn't want to do anything with them after law school. Many of them are toxic AF and have blocked opportunities that rightfully belonged to me, simply because they managed to take hold of placecomm. I'm learning how to cope being alone.
