To add to other feedback given: I have never understood, is there a specific way to mark something as 'contested' or do you just give a reason for why something should be marked 'contested' when reporting a comment, and the mod will apply the tag? If there is a button for another user to mark something as 'Contested', I have never been able to access it with the screen reader that I use (as I am completely blind).

Create different sections / forums within LI so that people can focus on the topics that matter to them. Like a college / CLAT section for aspirants and students who want to discuss college related stuff. Career section for questions and discussions on careers, law firms, litigation etc. And a general section to discuss politics, news, which law firm has the most good looking people and such other crap.

just rehashing some of the ideas which have been thrown around for a while:

a) dividing the threads into 5/6 topics like - deals, law firms, prospective students, law schools etc.

b) have pinned comments on topics like phoren llm, law firm salary, firm movements

c) accredited accounts for law firms to post job openings, can charge a token amount

d) verfied accounts for law school RCCs to publish authentic data after the season is over

e) bring back mooting leaderboard (use the excel sheet model of law frim salary), perhaps make it pinned as well

just want to play devil’s advocate here because I see so many people bad-mouthing Legally India, and every time someone sees me using it, they pretty much shame me for it.

The truth is, if you’re not from a legacy law family, being a law student can feel incredibly isolating. I study at a Tier-2 NLU, and the channels of information about things like vacation schemes, moots, PPOs, etc. are very limited. There’s practically no one I can go to with doubts or questions. In such situations, it’s very reaffirming to know that I can always count on Legally India.

I haven’t been on the platform as long as some others, and I agree with a lot of the critiques, but I still think we need to appreciate LI for the platform it is. It helps a lot of law students and lawyers stay connected to the wider legal community. In more ways than one, it shapes conversations and directs the narrative around legal education and careers. Plus, it’s a great place to get general advice.

Before this turns into a full-blown love letter, I’ll stop but ya, credit where it’s due.

1. Less of d*** measuring contests between colleges.

2. Weeding out irrelevant posts- some random statement by some anti Trans or anti immigration guy in Miami gets a post while relevant queries lie in abeyance.

3. Less of college spam: A lot of things like internal politics of SWA of NLSIU is irrelevant to be discussed.

So now what the government thinks is supposed to be the benchmark for reality or what other people think/correctness, is it? I see you guys would rather we became an Indian subcontinent version of North Korea than just acknowledge that you went to an inferior law school! This is what happens when you send 18-year-old kids to university. Their entire identities become entwined with their institutions to the point that they will say anything stupid, just to put others down!

So the death of students who were facing deep personal issues and took the extreme step is now dragged along with whether NLUD is a great law school? As if other top law schools haven't faced similar concerns? Let me give you a reality check - it doesn't matter what you think about NLUD because year after year, you'll be forced to accept its superiority slammed in your face.

You are an A1 trying to hit on a PA who makes about 4 times more than you and is probably more than 6 years older than you. Sometimes I wonder what criteria these T1s employ while hiring people. Is this something that really have to be told to you? Does any of it not sound super stupid and bizarre to you?

They were probably an associate partner-- you get promoted to full-fledged partnership if you meet certain conditions. While most do so, but those who fail are demoted back to their old designation. By the way, I know exactly who you are talking about-- Luthra and Luthra Law Offices.

Unless you are going to do a super-cool programme (NYU Legal Theory, for example, or UC Berckley Jurisprudence and Social Policy (JSP) PhD, or a J.D. at some Top 14 law school), nothing in the U.S. is 'worth' anything at this time anymore - not worth the time, not worth the money, not worth the energy or effort. It has become the most crap environment ever for immigrants. I am in the UK, which could be better but ain't bad at all. My friend, who went for UCLA LLM in Law and Philosophy, is crying to get TF out of that poisonous country.

Padhai kar le... internship karle...job lele...thode paise kama le... And live a happy and peaceful life for yourself, your parents, your partner, your future family. All of this that you're yapping about is limited only to theory. It's only good for academic discourse. In reality, no matter who you are, its about power and not people. None of these people that you mentioned, could uplift 1% of the marginalized. Most who came out of poverty and class wars, did it with their own hardwork, by educating themselves and getting a job. As a former student, majority of JNU is only limited academic discourse, and it may help if you're interested in going the academia way. Otherwise, best bet is, read theories but focus on practicing law in reality. This is a professional practicing course. You don't see the other famous professional course, aka medical students engaging only in theory do you ? So unless you want to get into politics or academia, don't take this seriously. Read and move on, like 99% of this world. Get a job.

so my brother is getting married to his college girlfriend next month!! He was at IIT Bombay, and she was at IIT KGP. And get this, they did long distanxe for three whole years during college, back in the dark ages of just texting (pre-WhatsApp vibes)

search the local newspapers there will be advert about these 'colleges'

usually they would be posing as registered study centres of some off state uni

they will charge around 15k per sem if no support is required, if study support is require they may charge around 30k per sem. they will help with getting you an exam seat, proxy attendance, in hall support (passing notes during exam) etc.

however, these places also say that if you want to pass aibe you would have to study harder and come to their coaching for it

The firm is relatively small and the work is not very hectic however the environment is actually sustainable not to mention toxicity yes but that is everywhere it's not something you can't deal with.

And J is the toxic one yes but V and K are sweet at to me they were.

Hiring is relatively low only when somebody leaves will a vacancy be there it's luck to be present when there is a vacancy.

Salary is 30k for fresh joinees which I feel is decent.
