As a consultant, your job would be to fill forms for clients for various rankings, draft their LinkedIn announcements, and get their articles published on BB etc. A lot of upcoming law firms (invariably the bulk of their clients) treat consultants rather badly.
Better choose any other field.. once stuck you will be stucked for ever..

What exactly is wrong with you? Please do not put down a model of legal education which is among the best in the world, just to personally satisfy your own insecurities. This model has produced scholars of global repute, some of whom are household names in their respective fields. How many such did the pre-NLU, supposedly more rigorous, model of legal education produce? Okay, B.S. Chimne and Upendra Baxi. Great. Fill in at least five more names, I challenge you. Surely, if the pre-NLU model is that good, we can get seven names of legal scholars of global repute who were educated within it? After all, it had 40 more years of experience than the NLU model!
How?
Let me tell you. Join a basic boutique firm. These law firms should not have to be the best, but they should have lots of work. They must be at least relevant in the market. The responsibilities will be on the higher side and overwhelming as you join as a freshie. But you have to play it risky in order to gain from it. Stick for a year. And start applying at T1 firms. They are always on the lookout. There might be a possibility that you might be approached by job hunters yourself.
In this world of merciless people, there are firms who are more than willing to hire associates with zero experience. But you got to do your research. There is no hard and fast rule to get a job, at least in the field of law. Various dynamics exist, but you have to punch at the right time. So, you're basically playing your odds.
