These individuals freely opine on everything under the sun, despite lacking the expertise or qualification to do so. Their motives are often transparent: promoting a select few while unfairly maligning others, particularly those who are making significant contributions to legal education and scholarship.

The pattern is clear—selective praise for certain individuals or institutions, coupled with unwarranted attacks on others (e.g., NUJS, NLUJ, NLUD vs. NLS; Sudhir biopic, CLC bashing etc). Let’s not allow such divisive narratives to overshadow the true purpose of this platform.

The only reason that GLC and NLSIU don't get affected equally because of fund crunch is because the latter charges huge sums of money from its students. The quality of education offered at the two institutes have got no bearing on the issue. You people should stop treating CLAT as one of your significant achievements in life, that's just embarassing. I write as someone who did clear the examination and study at an NLU, but one who does not perceive those who studied elsewhere as inferior by any means, because they really aren't.

How nice to feel that GLC and NLS can even be names said in the same breath, let alone have their own, unique issues compared - as if they were both equal in standing. True, true, universities don't get funded well, but you seem to think GLC and NLS get impacted in the same way? Okay, no worries. I understand we sometimes need a little soothing for the ego, especially after the mortification of failing CLAT.

I realized at the start of my 4th year that my grades were quite low, and I shouldn’t have prioritized mooting and other activities over academics. Now, while my CV is strong, my marks are very average—ranked between 20 and 40 at a tier 2 nlu. I’m really worried that despite my callbacks, my grades might hold me back from securing an offer.

Yes, there is genuinely something wrong with people there and I have noticed only these kind of people end up staying there for long term. I interned for a while and throughout the internship my reporting associate behaved nicely but on the last day when I asked him to sign some report and give general feedback he refused and said bad stuff about me. I understand if my performance was subpar but give me feedback instantly so I can work on it and show improvement but accepting my work throughout the month without complaints and suddenly acting that way was a big enough red flag for me and I knew I am definitely not working with such people.

BS ranking by a clown who clearly didn’t have it in him to get into NLUD. Your dreamy corporate jobs are not hard to get when you’ve got people from SLS and JGLS and GLC and ILS being hired. As far as NLUD goes, it’s the only NLU without domicile with a reasonable batch size and has the best location among all NLUs. That’s a fact.

Anyway, you don't naturally become a M&A lawyer after doing law. If you are aiming for corporate, it is always advised to start your internships early and maintain a profile that is focused towards a certain practice area and in law firms/seniors practicing in front of NCLT (please explore. Don't make yourself rigid to one practice area so young).

Then please do so. Always good that somebody doesn't need a particular resource, but that doesn't mean others can't or won't need it. Shoving your ore in is not always helpful. Please save yourself from the rot spot, you will avoid immense trauma, trouble and boredom. They only have one client- the big tech giant which they work for along with AZB. Even there, AZB does most of the work. The team is toxic, there is no growth and SA/PA are doing the job of an A-0 when compared to a tier one competition law practice.

This was the first client call I was getting the opportunity to lead. However, despite putting 20-odd alarms in queue, I was unable to wake up on time and make the call. The call was handled by someone else from the team and my absence did not end up causing too much damage.

7 ranks +/- yours. Would be taking up NLUO and if I can't get it most probably RGNUL (I am from Delhi too). Had a talk with someone who is from Delhi and in ILC, they said that the current state of the 'college' (which is just 2 floors in kanad bhawan) is not good enough to leave out on RGNUL/NLUO. The classes take place from 8-4ish, 6 days a week so no time to intern, also without a functional placement cell the chances of getting placed seem slim. No hostels (which won't be a problem for you) also means less diversity and the 1.9 L fees just doesn't justify the DU tag.

But I can tell you that it has costs if you involve people you might need later. Personally, if I think someone has crossed a boundary or has been too aggressive, I consider them a very risky hire. Who knows how they will behave once in my organization. Obviously, this doesn't apply to small things or mistakes when you are very junior but I take what senior students do to be indicative of how they will behave in the workplace.
