I am just waiting for the day when the total fees will exceed ₹1 crore. It will be interesting to see who gets to this 'milestone' first - IIULER, BITSLaw, JGLS, or some state NLU.

Coming back to NLUJ - ₹60L is only the fee component. You still have to add hostel, mess, ancillary, personal expenses, and inflation for the entire 5 years. The total outflow for you would be around ₹70L conservatively. So tread carefully.

Please reflect on what you are saying. Obviously people need to be studying many hours a day in order to gain a thorough understanding of the law. But that doesn't mean randomly increasing class timings. Why not get them to do more reading in advance and have more seminar-style or tutorial-style smaller classes?

2) "Tutorial classes" have been introduced to cover up for the mess in attendance
3) The examination policy is changed where the written exam will only consist of a 60 mark end sem paper, 15 marks for "attendance", 25 marks for project and viva, leaving a major portion of evaluation to the dicreation of professors.
4) Classes have been extended from 9 A.M to 8 P.M with no breaks in between. The hostel out timing is 8.30 P.M effectively leaving 30 minutes for any outside work a student has.
5) All shops on campus have been closed down including 2 shops in boys hostel, 1 shop in girls hostel and the laundry service.
6) The academic calender is pushed from semester ending on 1 May to ending on 6 May and from 1 Novemeber to 11 November for even and odd sems respectively. This has disturbed internship schedules of the students, many of whom have already got an internship from May 1.
7) No date has been announced for conducting exams left the previous semester.
8) The VC of the university has refused to meet with the student body for discussions on the pretext of technicality.

Then don't make it mandatory, and keep it optional. I don't there is a BCI mandate for tutorials as well. And most importantly, had you have the good or even decent faculties then would have taught well in regular classes. But Ved Ma'am/Rangin Sir/Sheela Ma'am, all you have is sub-par faculties from DU, who use the NLU tag aa a launch pad for their career. It takes two to tango and increasing the class hours won't do any justice to the kind of education you guys can impart. You are just on a way to copying other institutions without realising the stark difference between NLUO and other institutions. You are failing as a management and still on high horses and not ready to hear anyone. For you it's has become an ego battle where you feel you are the supreme leader of masses and no one can dare to say anything otherwise you keep the proctor in your pocket.

Reflect on your actions before it's too late.

Literally all what they do is service agreements for schools, transfer of school assets, etc. it's all VERY STUPID work. It's not M&A. It's something totally random. No real billable work. People are just biding their time. This work will make you forget everything you learnt in your previous teams. Highly incompetent team. Dont go for it.

I feel there should be a cap on central, state, IoEs and deemed University per state, according to the states resources and population. Have a minimum one central university per state, and let it subsume IITs, IIMs, aiims and NLUs. Give it the majority of funding by centre. Accordingly we get around 30 central universities, give and take. Now it's the central govts onus to make these 30 universities as top in QS rankings. Make the selection for students and teachers in this university as extremely stringent as possible, only the best of the best get in. State and deemed university can absorb the remaining students and faculties.

I'd have asked this question slightly differently: how do you account for the fact that in other parts of the world (England, United States...), law schools in multidisciplinary settings has been a successful project, whereas in India, it doesn't seem to have worked so far? Also, why would it work now in India when it clearly hasn't done so before?

Can the person who voted this down grow some guts, publicly own the vote with her name and explain the reasoning behind the downvote? Do you deny that we treat workers badly and that this is an ingrained part of our culture? Or are you so brainwashed that honest criticism of our country is now propaganda?

Just like the best student may not be the best teacher, similarly the best teacher may not be the best VC. The primary reason being, that a VC is more a political and administrative post than any others. The amount of pull and push needed, to convince people in the govt to pay grants and funds, is huge. Especially since it's the third NLU of the state, like a 3rd child that parents didn't want, unless it was a boy.

Bindu Ronald used to teach in NUJS and was quite popular. Still remembered fondly by many. She is good but it remains to be seen how she can negotiate "the system" for better.

Start with basics, meaning and difference between capital and current account transactions (provided in FEMA Act 1999). These two terms make all difference for the nature of transactions.

I recently gave my PPO interview with SAM, Mumbai and the whole interview went smoothly so, I was optimistic that I cleared the interview rounds but unfortunately today, I received a rejected email stating that I did not clear their interviews rounds.

I'm puzzled by this because everything went smoothly during the interview. I have a decent CGPA and batch rank, coupled with a near perfect interview.

Those in NLIU were shocked to receive the news that their beloved paratha man, a man who has held more responsibilities than the Moot Court Association and the PCC combined over the years has been un-alived under mysterious circumstances recently. Any update on whether its wildlife or was he m/dered ? Has the body been found?

There are recurring challenges - the attrition rate clearly reflects that. Communication is a problem. Expectations are to take responsibility of the work without really giving control to the associates. Micromanagement exists to an unimaginable level. There is no clarity in how things work and what is expected out of you. When you take charge of a matter and make decisions, it can be a problem because you acted without instructions (regardless of whether any damage occurred). When you don’t take charge because you fear consequences, it means you’re not being responsible for the matter. The team lives in constant confusion and anxiety.
