The "age old" civil and criminal laws make the legal system tick. Most matters which are litigated involve these laws. Ergo, the vast majority of money which flows into litigation goes to the practitioners who deal with these areas of the law. Uncs these days are off their rocker.

You definitely won't get your fees worth out of this college ( given that it is 8 lakhs plus per annum), the management + the new director sucks. However, there is good exposure to international competitions and alums have done really good for themselves. Mostly everyone there comes from wealthy families and are into party culture. But I know many who ended up at Tier 1/2 firms because of their talent. The placement committee is useless. Their only good tie up are with LKS and some in house firms. The campus is 2 hours away from the city and there is amazing diversity (including NRI/international students). All in all, there are definitely better options out there but if you want to party and have a residential college life, knowing that you will still make it out without any help from the college then go for it. PS. you will either come out as a strong resilient career driven person or you will end up as a junkie with poker problems :)

There’s no point waiting anymore. The judges have already started interviewing people from last year’s list and their own discretion. This year’s recruitment was a total sh*t show, and there’s no recovery from this. Wrap it up folks, the SC does not care for your circumstances.

Is the location issue genuinely that bad? Can some current students share their perspectives? Is it genuinely that difficult to easily reach Mumbai for internships, networking opportunities or even to just relax/ hang out? Also, what's the scene in Kalyan ? Is it developed enough that you don't feel the need to rush to Mumbai for small things?

An international LLM is worth tens of lakhs of rupees only if you have had a terrible undergrad experience in terms of academics. If you went to a good college, NLU or private, I would say that the price tag of an international LLM is deeply unattractive. You are essentially just going abroad for the (mostly negligible) CV value at that point. This is not to say that a place like Cambridge won't broaden your intellectual horizons, but it will do so to a considerably lesser extent than if you had gone to a bad college for undergrad.

I seriously doubt LI has a defensible claim to safe harbour immunity. As per my understanding, at a platform level, LI just doesn't function like an intermediary in the traditional sense, nor was it designed to. LI exercises editorial judgment at every stage of publication. It vets which threads go live, decides which comments appear, and redacts or censors posts entirely.

Compare that with a platform like Reddit, where moderation is largely reactive. It happens after publication, in response to community feedback, policy violations, or court/ government directives. LI moderates at both stages, before and after a post goes up. So if it already reviewed the content before publishing it, how can it then turn around and claim the protections of an intermediary?

For LI to credibly assert intermediary immunity, the whole platform would have to be fundamentally reimagined. Until then, it's really just a heavily moderated, heavily censored space for anonymous commentary, one that arguably carries content liability for every thread and post published on it.

Ik this community does't hesitate to hate on law schools, firms etc. but very curious about why CAM is at the receiving end of so much hate. It's undeniably a t1, and other things aside, does some exceptional work. Is it only because it's a "lala" firm and has a family sitting on top of everything? Afaik CAM's work is highly respected by other firms, so is all this hate just in good fun (banter)? Genuinely curious.

I feel you're in a win-win situation. I know many who've gotten ppos from both sam and s&r after interning in may, so honestly either would work just fine for you. That said, even if SAM is unable to process a ppo in may, but they like your work, they're sure to pick you up from dayz (given you have a decent rank), which is not the case with SNR. SNR also stops hiring by june, so may is cutting it close but definitely a good bet. Another factor to consider is that snr has a one internship policy, and if you'll mostly get a ppo if you do a decent job, that's not the case with sam. The competition will be a lot more and there might be other factors too. If i were in your position I would do my first pref (sam or snr whichever you like better) in feb, and second in may. so if the first pref works out you'll have a ppo there before may, if not you always have a backup in may. all the best! (btw I'm assuming your SAM team is looking to hire and is in the delhi office)

Go for S&R, imo. They mostly follow one internship policy and decide on the basis of team feedback + presentation which you give towards the end of the internship. So there is no hassle of following up with the HR for scheduling an interview. They convey their final decision regarding the PPO within a month.

I am a 2026 batch student and have no job or even offers from any law firm, chamber or company and I am very scared. Tbh I feel like a failure and feel like quitting but can't afford to do so. I have decided to apply to every law firm in Delhi and in every chamber whose e-mail is available on the internet. I have applied at a number of places but have not received responses so far and its depressing to say the least. A major con of my CV is bad grades, but anyone who has an idea about the marking scheme of DU would understanding that scoring just 60% in DU is a task in itself. Although I have a significant number of internships, in T2 and below level of firms, but have no prospects of getting hired in those firms.

I would be really grateful for any leads or names of firms that would be open to hiring because at this point I'm breaking from inside and I need some support very desperately. Even a salary of 20-25K/pm would suffice, so please feel free to make any suggestions you feel might be helpful.

simply because the chance of getting hired is more because the work volume is greater, especially in delhi, disputes is predominant. anyone with real pulse for litigation wouldn’t choose a tier 1, there’s simply no room for learning. you’re better off at a chamber or a smaller boutique firm

My suggestion is to apply to law firms and not limit yourself to a practice area or the size of a firm at the moment. Apply to all boutiques that are coming up.

I am not sure if waiting for a firm is wise, unless you are sure that you will have options to choose from in the near future.

Lend me your ears. Our voices are not heard, and we are invisible in the array of black and white. While I commend Legallyindia for being one of the only sources (the accuracy of information is disputable) in the Internet for information on the field of Corporate Laws, I believe the representation for the litigating community is nil and frankly the profession is commented upon quite condescendingly.

I want to build something similar just for us, just for those who aspire to go to court and "suffer for 10 years until they make money". I wonder whether people would take this seriously or whether this post will become a moment of laughter. Please tell me your thoughts on the same.

The best litigation firms in Delhi have top-notch work (firms with strong litigation practice areas and good quality work in the DHC, SC & Tribunals across Delhi), and the exposure should be incomparable, apart from firms like Karanajawla and Co. or

You should consider following the career path of ▮▮▮ ▮▮▮ ▮▮▮ of NUJS - based on LinkedIn and public profile he seems to be doing very well. He works in Brussels/London, but was part of the UK competition authority and also won a major international award in Washington DC recently. Seems like a genuine superstar with depth of knowledge from what I have heard.
