Then litigation is stressful and Law firms create unnecessary pressure on young students to perform like robots and they themselves lack any work-life balance.
I really dont think it is the university atmosphere alone. It is WE as a legal fraternity that is responsible.
It is important for all of us to create safe spaces within our student groups and interact with faculty who are approachable and willing.
Law in itself is a serious study and one normal case can have different impact on different people.
Another observation is that Emotional intelligence and Academic intelligence both need an emphasis now.
Bar Council of India and UGC should
1. Make attendance flexible.
2. Not impose terrible credit requirements and hours of teaching making universities struggle to keep up the number of hours and subjects.
3. Soon faculty members will also fall to stress. Cuttack incident is a call that faculty needs support too.
I am already thinking of the plight of faculty at NLU delhi who would be consoling students while themselves struggling to cope up with loss. Noone i say noone wants to harm and see their children, students or friends take this step.
Job, marks and competiton seems to be making people forget that we work to live and not live to work. Please take care of each other and I for one feel that harsh comments on nlud would now again put pressure on students who would feel more stressed as to the image of the place they have joined.
NluD and other law school students bashing each other on this forum itself shows we all as a community are only trying to win arguments than making all law schools a better community as a whole. Please take this as a wake up call.
Administration alone can do nothing. Students, teachers and parents have to together try to build a healthy future.

The kind of law school whose name, when uttered, makes us sit up and take notice is willing to put a shit tonne of money into research in the type of areas you so glibly look down upon. You don't even need to do GBP-INR converting on oanda.com or using the UK foreign ministry (FCDO) exchange rate, the CER, to know how much money is being put into this. Tell me, would a law school of world-wide repute be willing to put the amounts you are proposing if this learning was so useless? And note, this is a law school well known for commercial law, not legal philosophy.

The VC needs to be removed at once and the students must boycott classes until then. This is happened at many NLUs before and VCs resigned because of it. The students must also complained to the AAP CM of Punjab and the Chief Justice of Punjab.

Paris vs Baghdad
After 3 years of my college life I have realised that from a corporate law POV I have acheived nothing except one Tier 2 Corp internship. Not a single moot or research paper. And regarding grades, marks are in 50-60 range for most exams, with around 3 supplementary papers (1 of them is a law subject) in total.Partly it's because atmosphere was not at all competitive and college itself does not emphasize stress on studies, but mostly its because of my laziness.
I seek redemption ! I have already registered for a couple of legal events but deep down I highly doubt whether I could get a good corporate law job.
Do you suggest that I give CLAT once again at this stage of my life? Or should I give NLSAT after completing this course in 2026 ? Or are there any other solutions?
Please advice me on this. Legal proffesionals, academics and students alike are welcome to provide your valuable opinions.

For years after that, I used to get nervous whenever I found a toothbrush bristle on

Money is scarce. Expect something between 6-8 LPA. Lit and corporate sits together. HR will sit on your head and micromanager things. Pretty much like an average T3-T4 firm.
1. Your firm and your partner are trash. The day you decide to leave them they will turn on you and fuck you over. So give your best and work to the capacity that you can but don't hesitate to switch if things go too far.
2. No firm is good or bad and no partner is good or bad. It depends on your equation with that particular person and how your experience is in that firm.
3. At the end of the day, your happiness is paramount. If your happiness lies in having work life balance with less money or better work atmosphere then go for that. If your happiness is directly proportional to your bank balance and you don't care about what torture you have to go through, go wherever you are paid the most. But you can't get everything you want.
4. No one in this industry is doodh ka dhula. If someone appears that way, it's because you haven't seen their worst yet. And for most people, pressure situations will reveal the worst.
That's all I want to say. I am not looking for sympathy or empathy or homeopathy or any kind of pathy. But Misery loves company so
Let's start with the millipede situation. How does a college let this happen? We were suddenly thrown into online classes with barely any notice. I stayed in the hostel because they said it would only be two weeks. Two weeks turned into a month! That's a huge chunk of my first semester gone.
While stuck in the hostel, I got sick with dengue AND typhoid. The water here is terrible, and the sanitation is a joke. We've asked for help repeatedly, but it feels like no one cares about us first-years.
The online bullying is out of control. Some of my classmates are talking about hurting themselves because it's so bad. We tried to complain, but there's no real system in place. When we finally got through to the admin, they brushed us off. It's suffocating.
To top it all off, they cancelled our freshers' events because of some fight between the senior years I have also heard this year they are not organising the garba event as big as it happens every year like it's gonna be small closed event because the cultural committee of our campus is yet to be constituted.Is this really what college is supposed to be like? Because if it is, I want out.
I came here excited to make friends and learn new things. Instead, I'm sick, scared, and miserable. Now I get why some of my friends chose other colleges - at least they're not dealing with this mess.
I don't know what to do anymore. This place feels toxic, and I'm seriously thinking about transferring. I never thought I'd say this, but I regret coming here.
Please, if anyone in charge is reading this, do something. We're really struggling, and it feels like no one cares.

Besides we're not talking about undergraduate degrees in the arts. we're talking about graduate programmes in law. I would even argue that it should be programme-specific. NYU has a legal theory programme thats very difficult to get into and takes only 15 people and funds them well enough. thats wayyy harder to get into than Harvard or Oxford.
Getting into SPILS at Stanford is way harder than getting into the other tracks. Spils is the only one with funding and pathway to the JSD. Thats harder to get into than Oxford or Harvard I would think.
Studying law and economics at U Chicago would give you much more credibility than studying law and economics at NYU. And studying law and gender at berkeley would probably be better than studying law and gender at Harvard or NYU or Chicago or Yale or Stanford or Oxford even.
All of these programmes get applicants from across the world.
Most others (like Harvard) treat LLM as a cash cow and therefore fill up a lot of students.

1. You are committed to learning and basically establishing trust with seniors to let you handle things on your own. If they don’t trust your work product they will keep meddling
2. You don’t have a toxic team to start with that won’t let you be no matter what and would get insecure if you are very good
3. You have to be assertive when you get the chance. Don’t be a doormat to politics if you are confident about your work quality.
To sum up, know your worth and use it to push back those who waste your time. Saved time means more wlb
