Youre misunderstanding the place youre in fundamentally. youre not in an academic institution that seeks to build community. Youre in an educational corporation that seeks to improve its own profits. Educating students or building a community is way down on the list of priorities. Raj, and Naveen, both are fully within their rights to invite whomever they want for dinner. its not discrimination because these are explicitly private affairs. They likely to only invite people they think will be useful to them for their own purposes. You cannot network with 2000 people.

Paying fees does not entitle anyone to be invited to private dinners with a selected guest list. Paying fees entitles you to the opportunity to sit in class, learn, earn a degree, use the facilities. thats all it is.

If you like the parts about this private corporation that makes it easy for you to get a degree without earning it. You will have to put up with this and much worse.

who told you that attending one of these universities will set you up for life? There is no university that can promise that. There are harvard grads who are not doing well in life. I know several people from IIT who arent doing well. No guarantees in life. You have to keep working to get better and better opportunities and to get the life you want. NLS will open doors for you that NLU Assam wont. It will even open doors NALSAR wont. but it wont set you up for life if you fail to apply yourself.

The faculty in charge has been a pain to consult for recruitment and internships. Unnecessary attitude towards alumni and never never reverts when alumni and others reach out to him and his supposedly professional committee for opportunities. Just plain sad to note that students only stand to lose out because of his incompetence and ego.

I had a super weird dream last night, very vivid.

As a thumb rule, LLM batches rarely get placed in India. From past 2 years, the trend is that half the batch either remains unplaced or has to accept an offer under 6LPA. If you have existing relations (or contacts) with firms that pay well, they'll probably get you an assessment & in that case, you could get a better firm, such as higher paying boutiques or T2s — pay could range anywhere from ~8LPA to ~12LPA. Tier 1 placements after LLMs are extremely rare, generally limited to 2-4 people in the batch.

Bro in my opinion and strictly based on experienced CLAT is no saint either? Many times passages repeat from mocks of XYZ coaching word to word. I'm not saying it can't happen on its own - but not like it cannot be even touched or something. I have this feeling that people who can - will find a way to cheap every where. Shouldn't make you worried as you can't do anything to change. Again this is my view on the paper.

Law jobs are not ending, folks. If law jobs end that also means that AI will have developed so far into MBA and tech to kill their jobs too. We seem to do stuff that is clerical but interpretation and foresight of things are traits which only humans rend to bring. Heck chat gpt for 7 straight cross questions will give a stupid controversial view which if a legal department does will jeopardize the world. Upskill yourself and move on - not cry on li with your broke unplaced ass. I find it so funny how actual environment and discussions in law firm offices are totally upside down of what here they seem so be doing.

A0 hai toh ache se kaam seekh. In house roles bhi honge aur law firm roles bhi tere liye. Apne bache ko jo karana hai stem mba fashion cinema karva dena. But work and learn.

Let me contextualise the heavy fee structures of these colleges with this simple fact emerging from a consistent trend of past 5 years: If you get a job with a package of more than 10Lacs, you'll be an anomaly — and in order to get a good job from places like these, you'll have to be a top ranker in addition to stellar references from various internships. The consistent hard work that'll take for 5 whole years is at least ten times what it would take for you to take a drop year and seriously prepare for CLAT. Go do it, these options will almost always be available regardless of how bad you perform next year.

Hello everyone, can you please help me out on this. Little background i had completed my 12th PCMB in 2024 , by taking a drop year and only scored 58%. However i did not want to be a doctor or engineer and decided to look for other streams and saw a career in law but to my badluck I had zero exposure to how it works and came to know you need to give CLAT to get good law colleges . Now neither did i gave any CLAT OR had a good percentage and still apllied to some universities - the following universities are the ones that accepted me.

Ofcourse you can . You still have work experience take a job at a tier 3 law firm . You should be able to crack it and post that to Tier 1/2 firms. Ofcourse you would lose 2-3 years of seniority but that doesnt matter. There are 26 year olds that just graduate out of College .

I know my in-house exp. probably has 0 value for a law firm. So, how exactly do I switch? I have primarily done IP work (trademark and copyright) as part of internships, certifications, courses, etc. during law school, and so my preferred area of practice would also be IP. My current pay is approx 70k. I am obviously ok to take a salary hit (40-50k pm would be fine) so long as I get good experience in the first 1 year or so. Is there any law firm that I could apply to?

I am currently applying for jobs and am a 2024 law graduate. I have completed internships with Anagram, JSA, AZB, and DSK in their general corporate teams. For context, my dad works at a luxury resort in maharashtra which is well off however the company is extremely shady and indulges in weird shit, namely they've taken car loans in the names of their senior employees (including my dad) and apparently pay them the monthly car installment for EMI. When I got to know this it was too late and my dad said he had no option.

What do I do in this situation, is there something that can help my dad get out of this mess, the hotel aims to be the pinnacle of luxury in India but the owner is just a gross wannabe and doesn't pay his employees on time.

DON'T do this. A lot of seniors are very temperamental and you can never guess what will blow their fuse. I've seen a well-known senior of Del HC blast a student for walking up to him and asking for an internship. I also know of a recently-designated senior blacklist a student from internship because they called the lawyer directly on their mobile phone after not receiving responses on email.

Don't approach them personally in courts or on phones.

I would say that Antares is a good firm to work with and have heard from my friends that Siddharth Bhavnani’s team is the one which is getting most of the deals there. Have heard good things about his team that there is Good learning experience in his team under Surbhi K, with good mentorship from both the partners. Not sure about other partners in the firm.
