Talwar Thakore & Associates (TT&A) has elected counsel Nidhi Rani and Priyanka Kumar to become partners in the firm.
Rani had joined TT&A in 2010 directly after graduating from NLSIU Bangalore. She specialises in banking and finance, working in the practice alongside partners Sonali Mahapatra and Rituparno Bhattacharya.
She primarily advises lenders and borrowers on financings, as well as acquisition finance, structured finance and syndicated lending.
Kumar, a 2008 NLU Jodhpur graduate, had worked at TT&A since joining from Trilegal in 2014.
Kumar specialises in debt capital markets practice, including in international high yield and project bonds issuances. She has worked for lead managers on international debt offerings by Indian renewable energy companies and has also worked on financing and hedging deals.
Rani is the first completely home-grown partner at TT&A, having begun her career at the firm.
According to a statement from the firm, their elevation “represents the firm’s commitment to bringing through new leaders and growing our offering and ensuring continuing excellent service to clients”.
TT&A partner Sonali Mahapatra commented in a statement: “Having worked closely with Nidhi over the last decade, I am proud and excited to have her join the partnership. She brings new ideas, enthusiasm and a keen desire to deepen the high level of client service the firm is known for.”
Partner Rahul Gulati added: “Priyanka’s election is a testament to her commitment to the culture of excellence the firm believes in, and will help grow our already strong debt capital markets practice. She has been a big part of our success and I look forward to working with Priyanka to support Indian companies in accessing international and domestic bond markets.”
Their elevations take effect from 1 April 2021.
