Karanjawala & Co, Kochhar & Co and Anand & Anand won convincingly over Khaitan & Co, KJSV and Suri & Co in the second round of matches in the the TURF Twenty20 tournament between law firms for the Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF) Cup.
On 13 November Karanjawala elected to bat against Khaitan & Co and proceeded to rack up 142 runs for 7 wickets, with batsmen Kaushik Murli and Akhil Sachar respectively making 37 and 28 runs each. Khaitan & Co was all out after 15 overs trailing behind with only 79 runs.
Khaitan bowler Ankush took out four wickets against 20 runs in four overs, while Karanjawala bowler Sarthak Nayak also felled four wickets in four overs conceding 18 runs.
On 14 November Kochhar & Co played KJSV, with KJSV opening for 136 runs, as Amrinder Singh pummelled the field for 60 runs in 45 balls, including one hit for six and four for four.
However, Kochhar & Co responded with a hammering by two batsmen to clinch it with 139 runs in only 16 overs. Batsman Bharat Veer amassed 81 runs in 47 balls with a grand total of 12 fours, while Bobby hit six fours over 41 balls for a total of 46 total runs.
In the second game of that day Anand & Anand faced off against Suri & Co, which elected to field first, which proved unlucky for Suri.
Anand batters laid down a target of 164 runs over 20 overs, with Manish Biala hitting seven fours out of 57 balls, scoring a total of 62. And over only 24 balls Pradeep Singh hit 43 runs with a grand-total of eight fours.
Left to chase the tough target, Suri was all out after 15 overs with 112 runs as no batsmen managed to crack the Anand defence convincingly.
Saikrishna’s match against Amarchand Mangaldas of 13 November was postponed.
