Lol, completely inaccurate and misleading. For Indian law firm placement, NUJS and GNLU are the foremost as on date, as closely followed by NALSAR as not to make any real difference. NLSIU and NLUJ are slightly behind, followed by NLIU and NLUD. This is only an accurate reflection of placement. Personally, had I been starting my law school journey now, I would have either chosen NLSIU (faculty, alum, reputation quality despite huge batch size) or NLUD (location, small batch size). If you're a good student, you can still secure any opportunity that you want from these two places too.

That’s not true. You can’t just use one fixed number. In 2022 and 23, there were some hirings. Some people who already had high salaries from T1s got more than those with low starting salaries or those at A/SA level. Pay disparity is a new trend now. I’m not sure if they are still there or have left.

The current ranking should be NLSIU>NALSAR>NLUD>GNLU>NUJS, with GNLU in a position to overtake both NLUD and NALSAR if Modi and the Gujarat lobby ensure good funding. The funding should be to the tune of 50 crores at least, which should be used to improve infra, attract good faculty and offer scholarships to CLAT toppers, thus poaching them from other NLUs.

Bees only pose a direct threat to you if you are being a bothersome pest to them. They are in fact quite useful in ways more than one. Of course, if they are trying to build a hive right outside your window or within your room, then you should stop that at the earliest. Otherwise, just let them 'bee'. Snakes are a different matter, though that's mostly because people are conditioned to be afraid of them. However, people cannot be expected to differentiate between poisonous and non-poisonous snakes and behave accordingly. Instead of killing them, you can call herpetology society number to take them away. There are hardly any snake within the campus, maybe one gets in once a year.

As the subject states, I have a poor batch rank since I was just not able to do well in acads even after putting hours into studying as my writing speed is slow and I get an extremely stabbing pain in my neck-shoulder joint area. This issue is something which is not being considered as grave as needed to be able to fit into the PWD category in my college ( so that I get an hour extra to write). Please don't criticise me on the grounds that I'm making excuses for not working hard because this problem is something which is very very serious and I'm visiting various medical practitioners to get it treated asap. But because of my slow writing speed my acads have suffered and i couldn't maintain a good batch rank. The placement cell in our college is offering internships to students who are under top 30-40 (at best). I have a cv with reputed publications and achievements in essay writing competitions and a couple of tier -2 internships. Please guide me as to how should I improve my employment prospects ( 2026 batch). I get very anxious and depressed thinking just my poor batch rank can be a big dent on my employment prospects. I know assessment internships are given to final year students, but I'm already done with law, and maybe on 7–10 days results will be declared. In that manner, is asking for 3 months of part-time work worth it? As a trainee, this is more of a permanent position (to my knowledge).

Yes. At the end of the day behind the glitz and glamour of law firms and law school tiers, people forget that NLUs are state universities. They do not have the funds to provide world class infrastructure. These are not central universities where they have hands in central funds, nor are these private schools that can make up with lakhs of fees, nor is the alumni benevolent enough to give invest funds into their alma mattr. The initial funds is enough to make a infra and start a law school but not enough to maintain it. To cover these the admin has to do something as drastic as NLS and increase seats to 300 kids. The point is India is ready to invest billions into places of worship but when it comes to education, health or defence we are not even investing more than 5%.

Absolutely agree with you on the culture part, especially in a practice like capmarks CAM would squeeze every ounce of life in you.But, after the mass exit of mid level associates to Vidighya, going to Rajani for ECM doesn't make sense at all. Crawford would actually involve the concerned person on deals and he would have a more nuanced understanding of the practice area. I have even heard of JSA taking in long-term interns and giving solid work to them.

Incidentally, a Nobel laureate was chief guest at the convocation. This shatters the myth that IIT/STEM students are right wing, or lack the courage to speak out. That only humanities students at JNU and Ashoka are protesting. Conversely raises the question why the Palestine solidarity movement has been so weak at NLUs, Jindal and other law schools. Another point to think about is this. The student openly took on recruiters. Will NLU/Jindal students openly criticise T1 law firms that represent corporates like Adani and Ambani, which are involved in many unethical activities and also support Modi?
