Hard work and grit, with a mix of luck can take you to places you didn't think were achievable. I know so many 7.5ers from so many different batches who got placed in Tier-1s. Don't keep your knowledge shallow, get good publications, intern extra hard, you'll be recognized and picked up by a partner in your final year. Don't overthink it, maintain a balance when it comes to partying and studying. You'll be fine kiddo.
However, if that’s not the case, then you gotta pull up your socks properly. I won’t say it’s easy to cross 8 by the end of 3rd year (considering the number of credits), more so if you’re involved in the committee and the fest BS. If you’re hell bent on pulling up your scores, stay low and focus on your internals, start a 2-3 days prior to the deadline and you’ll be good to go. If you stick to this, you should be touching 8 or crossing 8 by the end of 4th year, depending upon your GPA in the previous ones.
Personally, my CGPA was towards the lower end of 7 and by the time I graduated (not considering 5th year scores), I was in the 8+ bracket.

Only KCO is known to give offers to fourth year students. Other than kco, ALL the firm's role out ppo to 5th years
Additionally, not many partners (that do aforementioned quality work) generate work themselves. A lot of it is merger control matters which are down to the corporate teams passing on work.
While I (selfishly) hope that there is a shake up of the system with the proposed Digital Competition Bill and the overhaul to the Competition Act, I would not put my money on it. The DCB is possibly years away and the Central Government can't be bothered to notify the changes from the Competition Amendment Act, 2023.
Try disputes instead. Or corporate if you don't mind soul sucking work. You'll have a much better career.

Please help me fill out clat preference list...I am really confused between gnlu and nliu bhopal. I have MP domicile, making nliu easier for me but still I'm inclined towards GNLU because of its recent performance..

Specifically, I would appreciate advice on whether I should join a chamber, and if so, which practice areas I should focus on to facilitate a smooth transition from a chamber to a Tier 1 law firm as an Associate. Your insights and recommendations would be immensely valuable to me.
I know notifying party bills the most, but how much do firms generally charge for say, a green channel or a form I, and how much for a Form II. Have heard that Form II can stretch to crores. Please give accurate info.

If not, isn’t it possible to do a Puja Khedkar and game the system? For example, if they take income certificates at face value while determining non-creamy layer OBCs or general category EWS, then anyone could submit a false income tax certificate, isn’t it? I was also reading in the news that a scam has been unearthed in Bengal where people from Bihar have falsely being showing Bengal domicile and availing of Bengal govt jobs. So couldn’t someone from outside Karnataka similarly show Karnataka domicile and sneak into NLSIU?
