Perfect fit for Road, Transport & Highways ministry!
He can wash his sins and get clear of all charges.
Moreover, how can you say that 1 Year LLM is not good? All the prominent educational hubs in the world including UK, USA, Canada and Australia only has 1 Year LLM.
Why all NLUs still have 1 Year LLM?
Why the Prestigious Indian Law Institute, Delhi has only 1 Year LLM?
Why most of the prominent Deemed to be Universities like CHRIST, Symbiosis International and Private Universities like OP Jindal only has 1 Year LLM?
Here, BCI and BCI Trust - PEARL FIRST through IIULER is just misleading and deciving!
1) Assistant Professor - LLM with UGC NET
2) Associate Professor - PhD with 8 Years of Teaching Experience + the required number of Publications (in Referred Journals, UGC CARE Listed/SCOPUS/Web of Science)
3) Professor - PhD with 15 Years of Teaching Experience + the required number of Publications (in Referred Journals, UGC CARE Listed/SCOPUS/Web of Science)
IIULER will also take candidates for Assistant Professor post who only has LLM with UGC NET. Please note that, those who are not having NET but only LLM will be considered to the post of Research Associates/Teaching Associates - They are not equivalent to Assistant Professor (both in Pay Scale and Experience)
Since IIULER is a Private University, they are having the right to offer their Scale of Pay to the Faculties (but it must not be less than the prescribed Scale of Pay by UGC from time to time) - As of the information provided in the IIULER Website, the Scale of Pay for the faculties is same as that of the minimum stipulated UGC Pay Scale
Even though IIULER is a Private University, they are NOT FREE TO SET THEIR OWN LAWS OR REQUIREMENTS. Being a Private University under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, IIULER cannot the laws, rules and regulations enacted by the UGC for the appointment of faculties
So, the only question is What is the Logic of IIULER for barring one-year LLM candidates from teaching there? Then, why IIULER is only providing one-year LLM to the students? So, does it means that IIULER themselves are making their LLM Students INELIGIBLE FOR TEACHING!
1) There is not even a single remote database access at IIULER
2) IIULER is not owned by Bar Council of India - IIULER is owned by BCI Trust - PEARL FIRST (established in 2020) which is an INDEPENDANT and AUTONOMOUS BODY and is NOT A PART of BCI
3) Many people get confused that IIULER is a Public University - But in reality, it is just another PRIVATE UNIVERSITY established under Section 2(f) of UGC Act through the statue passed by the State Legislature of Goa (Act No.16 of 2021 by Goa State Legislature)
4) The Faculties at IIULER including the Vice-Chancellor are not approachable in nature
5) There is no Pro-Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Assistant Controller of Examinations, Joint Director, Director and Public Relations Officer (PRO) at IIULER
6) Even though IIULER charges the Highest Fees for LLB (Rs 12 Lakhs Per Annum including Residential Charges) and LLM (Rs 10 Lakhs Per Annum including Residential Charges), they are not providing any facility!
Moreover, Bar Council was the one who tarnishes the quality of 1 Year LLM Holders in their Regulation of 2019. In the BCI Rules of 2020, they stated that BCI will not support and allow 1 Year LLM Courses! Then why, IIULER by BCI Trust - PEARL FIRST is only offering 1 Year LLM? Where is there integrity?
Moreover, IIULER also has Teachers with one-year LLM. Ms. Aswathy Madhukumar is the perfect example. She completed LLM from Indian Law Institute (one-year LLM) and joins IIULER on February 2023. At that time, she does not completed her PhD as well! So, how she is appointed? Where is the said prohibition for one-year LLM Candidates?
In addition to this, appointment of Professors are not regulated by BCI but by UGC. If a person who is having a valid masters degree and qualified NET Examination, how can BCI prohibits their "application" for Teaching?
If BCI has any integrity, first make LLM at IIULER a 2 Year program! Without that, they are just making show-off infront of the general public that 1 Year LLM Holders are not having standard to join Teaching Profession!
So, I hope IIULER themselves are stating that their LLM Students are not eligible for Teaching!
This makes me wonder, why isn't the legal fraternity, especially the younger lot, focusing on doing something innovative/imaginative with our law degrees? We all know this deep down in our hearts (at least I can presume this) that most of the law offices in the country are just legal shops which are floating in the market due to the motion of big transactions between organizations of higher echelons. And hardly these legal shops make the legal system any fluid for the organizations to settle their transactions/dispute expeditiously or without elongating the legal issues.
In such an ecosystem, the propensity to invent or innovate, develop upon ideas, for the overall betterment / progress of the legal system or the country in general, should have ideally been the point of emphasis. But instead, things really look dull and drubbing, where even the new chaps become helpless and settle down / or are forced to come to terms with unchanging/unproductive system in which we breathe. How do we deal with this?
No trolling please. Genuine query!!
Lala acquires what Lala wants
Lala accepts what Lala is told
There was a market perception that the team has better culture. Seniors donβt shout and scream at you, or but talk nicely to you - thatβs true. But the team has an ability to choke you with work and subject you to extreme deadlines which definitely donβt make it a sustainable place to work. Such situations wouldnβt have happened if partners stood up and pushed deadlines or managed their team workload better (yes this happens in other firms).
Finally people are speaking up. Thatβs all.
Jitna hai utne me khush raho bhai
One very big caveat is that we've introduced a 3 year LLB, and there's very little quality control. So we are getting typical local students. What this does is, that it essentially dilutes the quality of LLB students, as unlike 3 year BA students, the value of a BALLB and LLB ends up becoming same. That is my only concern.
Other than that it is a decent place to be. Mess Food is really good (ngl I'll miss it), you'll see a lot of posts/replies about strict admin, blah, blah, fact is they accommodate students to best possible extent. In my 5 years, we never had a attendance debar, there were scares. Project extension, etc is also given, generally admin is very considerate. At times they can be tough, but I guess that'll be everywhere.
Location wise also decent if you enjoy calmness of nature and all, you'll be in for a treat, with rivers and all. Basic facilities are available, imo.
Starting salary?
As considering Academia is a backup, so doing LLM from random college helps or from a NLU/ILI/ILS/GLC/DU.
Because, I'm putting it as a backup for pursuing Academia.
But he should at least respond to the petition!
I would actually blame you less. You have gotten into a bad habit. You should have displayed a greater sense of maturity and responsibility and reflected on this before, but at least you're doing so now, which is something, and something is always better than nothing. However, the fact that there has been no attempt to sanction you or threat of punishment for you for doing this is deeply disturbing.
The other comment's suggestion about returning to first principles and reflecting on your disposability is a good one and I would take it on board if I were you.
