We are not happy with the lack of foreign exposure. Itβs like our batch is collectively prone to being domesticated in Indian law firms and they are even happy with a 11 LPA package from Indus, not realising that their counterparts from certain other tier-1s are getting paid much more with a lower grade. Foreign law firms arenβt particularly fond of our college based on previous experiences of underwhelming candidates being sent to A&O/Linklaters.
A rusty domicile crowd is a huge problem which in fact generates the worst possible problems for our uni. The admin is even fed up of their tantrums producing antics left and right.
We may not have a protest going on, we may not have serious allegations against our admin, but the issues are there. Itβs high time we fill this βvoidβ. Itβs making us feel really left out.
Cat A...NLS, NLUD, NALSAR, NUJS
Cat B...GNLU, NLUJ, NLIU
So there's nothing wrong with it. It's just not the top three or four NLU. However that doesn't mean it's bad. It's much better then the other 20-odd NLUs.
It is not good at anything.
Teachers are extremely poor at delivery. Most of my batchmates were smarter and more knowledgeable than them.
85% attendance is strictly followed. You don't get decent time for extracurricular activities. Extracurricular activities are must.
Fees is so damn high that only rich make it to clg. They're loaded with money so they don't care about career - hence, no challenging environment.
For job, you get no help. We've 2 at SAM, 3 at LKS, 1 at S&R, 2 at KCO, 1 at Trilegal, 0 at CAM and 0 at AZB placed from the recently passed out batch. I know all of them. They got selected based on calibre alone. Clg only made things complicated for them by bombarding with useless assignments, attendance, etc. In case you don't know, these are the biggest law firms in the country and the hardest to get into. Heard of Meta and Microsoft? SAM represents them. Trilegal represents OLA (ANI Technologies). AZB represents Google. You can estimate how great these firms are.
Around 190 (out of 240) candidates wanted to sit for placements but no good law firm came for placement.
Answer is NO from all the perspectives - job, judiciary, academia, etc. It does more harm than good.
Get info on SLS and NMIMS Mumbai. They've location advantage atleast. Location will help you with Internships.
Nirma charges 15L+ as fees and 5L is minimum expenditure of living in Ahmedabad for 5 years. Even if you end up landing a decent job which is highly unlikely in terms of chances, it'll take you 3 years to recover the money as most amount of money you earn will be spent on living expenditures as Mumbai and Delhi are extremely costly.
Never fall in their Trap!
Take a drop.
Note to the mod: this is sarcasm, please do moderate this. You'll have a habit of censoring minor jokes so here is the explanationπ₯²
But in last few years it has fallen behind Trilegal even though joinees at trilegal end up leaving more frequently. Simple answer - see the number of people who join KCO and leave in first 2 years you'll be shocked with the low numbers.
