I know for a fact that one of the reasons the HC appointed Bag Committee that was also led by a retired judge could make swift and inconvenient progress was due to the presence of certain senior lawyers in the committee who had both domain expertise and spine thus nullifying the misleading attempts of the govt appointees inside the committee.
I think something similar should have been done here as well. Lawyers or retired investigators who are known for spine and having intimate knowledge of the system should have been brought in.
But why is the new CM holding back on taking action against erring IPS officers for actively sheltering Green apparatchiks and their masters who slandered Justices Mantha, Biswajit Basu and Abhijit Ganguly (separate incidents)?
Not just EKW restoration but also rapacity of the erstwhile govt in rural areas across Bengal, esp Darjeeling and North Bengal must be addressed. Pretty soon we will see UTK and HP like man made disasters being passed off as Acts of God
It looks like the govt is in a tearing hurry to tell and show but not actually do the grunge work reqd to permanently demolish an entrenched ecosystem of corruption that involved every layer and level of the system.
I don't understand. Sudipto Sen, the Sarada boss and his ex-gf and Sarada honcho are out on bail without bells and whistles but Kunal G needs to pack in heavy beyond what is potentially available to MLAs! Pray why?
And why has the new govt not called in Kunal G on the edu scam issue after his explosive disclosure in an ABP Ananda interview? Also what is the Bengal govt now doing about Kunal G and Rajiv Kumar in the Sarada case after gently letting him retire?
Why no action on Rajiv Kumar on Sandeshkhali, Sheikh Shah Jahan and Anubrata Mondol issues? Just because he had retired and is in the RS rt now? Or a much deeper setting?
It is like RGK and other scans wherein "setting" was definitely involved. But the Genie is now out and cannot be fully buried like Sarada etc.

Of course none of this eill matter of you have a high level connection at one of these firms. But to answer your query, most of these firms usually hire either by giving out a PPO to interns who have usually done atleast two internships with a team in their firm, or by directly recruiting from campuses on Day0. Even if the have a vacancy just before the new crop of associates join, they usually reach out to ex-interns who had good feedbacks from their teams but weren't able to procure a PPO. This is what my experience has been from working in several T1 firms as an intern. Also, directly reaching out to the HR is basically useless for many of the firms, atleast when applying for an internship. Some of them, however, do have the decency to atleast reply and reject your application but that is rare as well. For your practice area, you usually specify the area where you wanna work in when interning.
This is just my personal experience as an almost graduated BO26, maybe someone from previous batch can shed some light on direct hiring process.
However, I am now struggling with the next step that is switching jobs. Even getting this LRship took immense hard work, and I still do not know how to approach Tier-1 or even Tier-2 firms, whom to reach out to or how to position myself for opportunities. Since I do not have connections in the legal industry, the entire process feels very uncertain and overwhelming, and honestly..it has started affecting me emotionally as well.
And culture wise as well, snooty and incredibly snobbish. I have worked with this team for 3 years and I'm trying to make this sound like constructive criticizm the best i can - but think 10 times before heading here. For your own mental peace. Unhappy employees also means better talent goes elsewhere + decline of work quality. Long term -think.
The issue is that the joining date for the PPO is now quite close, and I am unsure about the most professional way to go about declining it at this stage.Would appreciate guidance from people who may have been in a similar situation or from recruiters.
1. Is it considered acceptable to decline a PPO this close to joining if done respectfully ? How much detail should one give while communicating the decision? Is it better to call the recruiting team/partner first before sending a formal mail? Does this usually end up seriously burning bridges with the firm?
Only ask for work from people who are good looking, including males and females. The reason is that other colleagues who might be plain looking might be extremely jealous of you, and they wouldn't want you around because you mog them (look better). Believe me, I have sat in conversations where my fellow colleagues have said that they do not want to work with an intern because of behaviour issues. Trust me, that intern was very well behaved. They were just creating problems out of thin air for him, which has prompted me to write this post. I am obviously not mocking plain-looking colleagues, as this is something which is not in a person's hands, but I just had to talk about this.

Honestly any insight will very helpful .
Now, months after graduation, professional experience has become the deciding factor, and I find myself stuck in the same uncertainty and darkness I experienced during law school. People often advised me to choose a safer and broader practice area like corporate law, but after facing constant rejection and, more often, complete silence, I have lost much of my confidence. I honestly do not know whether I still have the ability to switch fields at this stage.
What makes it harder is that my mind keeps telling me: if I could not secure an opportunity even after giving my all to the one field I was deeply committed to, how will I survive in an even more competitive practice area? My father has also asked me not to consider pursuing an LLM or MBA. Right now, I genuinely do not know what path is left for me. I feel exhausted, emotionally drained, and numb all at once.
I also got to know that this is the only university to offer 5yr integrated law with specialization in maritime law and currently has top faculties in maritime law
Some of their students in bba llb got t1 INTERNSHIPs too this yr. It is located near GIFT city too and students studying there are getting international exposure thru research and moot courts + Despite on levels of nfsu they are doing any PR
I just want to know from seniors wheter this college is worth leaving lower T3 nlus like HPNLU and MNLU-CS and what else should I look before joining this college
Any suggestions would be encouraged
Is this a good academic standing? And from the perspective of UK LLM (Cambridge) scholarships, will my marks be a hurdle for me? Should I regret about it that my score isn't that great? If I study well for one more year, on an average it can only cross 78 from 76.
But you will need to throw out root and stem. No half measures. This is not a state govt problem. It is a Messiah problem. โฎโฎโฎ
Now think if you are stuck in this rut. Or this rut is what you are born into across generations and then merit alone is touted to be the only way to climb the Great Indian Ladder
if you want to transition - nah buddy. I agree they do have good work and lala clients sitting but nothing substantial you'll earn/get from the 'Dentons' tag.
