The solution is simple. Each NLU should have an intake of 200. 100 should be reserved for SC/ST/OBC/Muslim. No creamy layer bar. Of the remaining 100, 50 should be reserved for SC/ST/OBC/Muslim from EWS category. 25 should be reserved for Hindu GC/Christian/Sikh etc from EWS category. Remaining 25 can be open merit: any caste or community, just pure marks and nothing else. In reality, Hindu GCs will dominate the last two categories, with a handful of Christians, Sikhs and Parsis joining them. So effectively 40-50 out of 200 seats for them. That’s more than enough.

There is a fundamental flaw in the argument people are making that rich SC/ST/OBC people don’t deserve reservation. Reservation is not about economic status, but about social status. The Yadav/Dalit child of an IAS officer faces more social discrimination than the child of a Brahmin/Kshatriya/Baniya rickshaw puller. So the former deserves reservation on social grounds, despite the wealth disparity.

So a sub-quota within NRI quota for SC/ST/OBC is justified.

I like doing 0 things at a time at work if I can help it, unless you're talking about chilling with about 3 screens - the TV, the laptop and the mobile, but when it comes to work, you have no choice. How far do they go to verify? Do they call up each of your past workplaces? I did leave one of my previous internships at a big firm mid-way, and put it on my CV regardless. Do have the joining letter but no internship certificate (although it's easy to fudge it in case they wouldn't literally call them up). Also, do they check grades and batch ranks and everything? And what about school grades? I flunked a paper back in my second year lol, don't want it to be an issue now. Please help.

Hi I'm a 2026 non-nlu student passed out recently i have done decent internships (but not any t-1) i have no job or any assessment opportunity in my hands rn. I'm looking to work in any decent boutique law firm with there disputes practice help me any sort of guidance advice will help. how to get a job or land a decent assessment to get a job.

T3 NLU student here who recently entered the 5th semester. Many of my batchmates have interned at very "shiny" firms, including Tier-1s in their 2nd year only, thanks to their entrenched connections. I have only interned at boutique litigation and arbitration firms till now.

I understand that internships are a game of connections to a very great extent. But how do you get those in the first place! I had built some conversation on LinkedIn with an associate of a very decent firm, who had previously judged my moot. She later helped me with a different moot and an article review. But the moment I asked for a referral, BAM GHOSTED! This was the closest connection I have had with anyone from a firm.

My texts to other partners and senior associates have met a similar fate. I understand that all of this is very normal, but if my texts are not working, my emails are not working, my calls to HR are not working, me attaching a writing sample in my internship applications ain't working, my follow-up mails are not working, then what exact choice am I left with? I am not saying I have the best CV, as my scores are really poor. But my extracurriculars are better than most of my batchmates. They continue to get their shiny internships while I am left spectating! Kindly help!

It was never 2.5 months but 10% of equity pool which is being burdened and unlikely that 10% will meet 2.5 months requirement next year. Either firm will start firing people right before payout is made or the number will go down.

Any partner would focus more on the substance rather than form but it’s not like you should give a badly formatted draft. Personally whenever a draft came my way, I would do the formatting first thing in the way I like and ofcourse as the firm style is which the associate may not be too sure of. Just an OCD but I’ve seen many of us who are partners today have developed this OCD because when we were associates, our partners didn’t spare us if the draft was badly formatted.

Do litigation. Dont make the mistake of joining corp law. For a few more pennies you will sell your soul for mothing. You will do no work but stare at a screen for 18 hours a day and have no future. People who do corporate law are nothing but underemployed and they need to get a reality check that what they are doing is clerical and has no meaning. They pretend to work. They do no work. Useless thing. Have some self respect and do litigation

When I go to the SC as an established SC/ASG/SG/AG or a judge, i will do so. I will discourage seniors from paying juniors and encourage them to get briefed in matters like the senior does. The stupid system of the senior paying the junior needs to stop. It kills growth. Those who don't understand it are nothing but blinded by money and don't even know anything about how the legal system works and how juniors command fees elsewhere like in bombay.

I'm not in a "dellusion" friend. I am not so sure if LI mods will publish the names of the colleges, but I have seen people from Khalsa College of Law, some World Peace University, Banasthali getting to T-1s. So as much as I see it, these are not "Jindal, SlsP or such colleges". Now again no harm from such Unis, I'm not an Nlu snob, but talking realistically these people didn't have any sorts of internships as such too before getting into T-1s, so is it just these kids getting lobbied by the founders of this forum in exchange for money being paid for their courses or is it some other story?

Also a side note to mods: can you please publish the rest of the comments, this is the OP here, I'd like to see what kinda burn these people had to post such trollish comments.
