Was a open and shut case with no hope for relief. But , my senior told him that he would take care of it and let him know.
Asked my senior about the case and came to know that the case has been "fixed" / "managed" and he will escape by paying a misely fine.
Asked my senior about it he just smirked at me and left. Still can't belive it.
So guys, do you think that my senior could have helped him "fix" the matter ?
Does this happen often with this particular regulator ?
Shocked as hell.
Gets bail at a blazing speed with the help of local MLA.
From Salman Khan to Janhavi Gadkar. What does it say about the state of our law enforcement and legal system?
I have tried everything from sending dms to partners to sending emails to legal teams of companies, but no results. Everyone wants someone with an experience of 2 years. I am competent and a hard worker. I am skilled at Redlining and drafting investment contracts, and I've pulled many all nighters for that work in my previous internship. But I really don't know what to do anymore. I just want a chance to prove myself.
A few days ago I had a major financial loss and now I am struggling to pay my rent for next month. This has taken a big toll on my mental health.
This is extremely idiotic, that kid needs to be punished. Your post feels like you'd volunteer to write that 300 words essay for him. I highly doubt the judge granted bail for the reasons you listed. A local MLA got involved and they tried to put the blame on the driver. Earlier blood tests were forged and police said there was no alcohol. Later cctv footage revealed he drank 30mins before driving.
Presumption of innocence? This is blanant disregard of the law and enforces the unsaid rule that if you're rich enough the law won't do anything to you in India.
Firstly John Locke argued that the rule of law is fundamental to a just society. The principle of presumption of innocence until proven guilty is a cornerstone of this rule of law. Granting bail aligns with Locke’s view that individuals should not be deprived of their liberty without due process. Immediate bail respects this foundational legal principle.
Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s concept of the social contract emphasizes that the state must act in a manner that respects the rights and freedoms of individuals, even if they are accused of a crime. The provision of bail reflects the state’s commitment to protecting individual freedoms while ensuring that justice is served.
According to John Rawls’ theory of justice as fairness, society’s institutions must be structured so that they benefit the least advantaged and ensure fair treatment for all. Granting bail ensures that the accused has the opportunity to prepare a defense, which is a fair and just treatment under the law.
Jeremy Bentham’s utilitarianism advocates for actions that maximize overall happiness and minimize suffering. Detaining a person pre-trial, especially if they can adhere to bail conditions, may cause unnecessary harm and suffering. Granting bail minimizes this suffering, aligning with utilitarian principles.
Isaiah Berlin distinguished between positive and negative liberty. Granting bail can be seen as an affirmation of negative liberty, which is freedom from undue interference by the state. The judge’s decision protects this aspect of personal liberty while still holding the accused accountable to legal proceedings.
Immanuel Kant’s ethics emphasizes respect for human dignity and autonomy. By granting bail, the judge respects the individual’s autonomy, allowing them the dignity to participate in their defense and manage their affairs while awaiting trial.
Ronald Dworkin argued that rights are fundamental to the concept of law. The right to due process is integral to justice, and granting bail upholds this right by ensuring the accused can engage fully in the legal process without undue hardship.
Aristotle’s notion of distributive justice implies that equals should be treated equally and unequals unequally based on relevant differences. If bail conditions are met by the accused, then granting bail ensures that they are treated equally under the law, reflecting Aristotle’s vision of justice.
Friedrich Hayek emphasized the importance of the rule of law in preserving individual freedom. Granting bail upholds the rule of law by ensuring that the accused is treated according to established legal procedures, rather than being subject to arbitrary detention.
Legal pragmatism, as advocated by Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr., suggests that the law should be flexible and practical. Granting bail is a pragmatic approach that balances the need for justice with the practicalities of individual rights and the presumption of innocence.

Thanks in advance.
"But you're going to go through life thinking that girls don't like you because you're a nerd. And I want you to know, from the bottom of my heart, that that won't be true. It'll be because you're an asshole."
PPO holders, do you have any tips for what I should keep in mind during this month?
Thanks!
So this is where Top 5 NLUs stand? 🤔
I have tried everything from sending dms to partners to spamming job boards, emailing in-house legal counsels, but no results. Everyone wants someone with an experience of 2 years. I don't know what to do anymore. A few days ago I had a major financial loss and now I am struggling to pay my rent.
Anyone who thinks I might be incompetent, I am ready to prove that I have more legal skills than most freshers. I am fairly good at drafting and redlining investment contracts. However luck has not been on my side recently.
Any help would be appreciated.
Best
However, being a panel counsel for multiple departments (PMLA, UOI, Income Tax, APTEL) means that there is an inhumane amount of work.
Working hours are on average, 12-15 hours a day 7 days a week. Very few people last beyond 3-4 months.
