We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.
Therefore, in using the site, you must agree to do your best to uphold these community guidelines.

But let me just try it here, 2+2 is 4, this remains the same regardless of who sets the paper, now if someone who has the basic idea of addition would solve this on merits and anyone who doesn't know addition will fail, therefore this whole argument of setting a certain syllabus favourable to a section only is utter nonsense. There is a reason why Mr Gandhi is not ready to handle the mainstream policy making yet.
2. Which city? NY is very differently situated on costs viz something like Seattle.
3. Any loans we need to know about to offer advice? Any other financial considerations (like sending money home etc.)?
4. Lifestyle expectations from your employer? Staying late would mean cabs and related costs.
Do help us advise you better.
Any leads would be helpful, thanks.
If any leads, please hit me up at oxylic.acid@proton.me
Molly cuddling leads to this.
The more you li*k your boss's , everything will be sorted
You are genius, its the corporate culture that this toxicity is legitimised as SYNERGY while you be rated.
Work Product in Law firm is everybody knows. Stupids, Idiots who dont know anything, but know how to be around your boss's, and hence successful
If you come of the law firm corporate culture, you will never like to rejoin it again. Believe me.
These Partners hardly go to the courts.
Become senior advocate, and show your Partners their competency and challenge their idiocracy that made you suffer.
Please guide
Boss, please read the room. And the OP seems to suggest he/ she were doing quite well in a previous practice area, and didn’t do well in the next. Also, it is widely know how WELL law firms in generally are managed. In fact it’s laughable how we work long hours, but we don’t have concept of managers to ensure the work load is equally distributed.
To OP -
It’s okay. Law firm teams can often be very badly managed and you may have been a victim of the same. Not everyone has to excel at law firms. There lot of opportunities outside law firms too. At the end of day, what we are looking for is a respectable job & salary, and a sense of belonging and accomplishment at work. This too shall pass.
Lot of banks and companies hire in-house. Just search on LinkedIn for folks who have transitioned to in house. You will get to know which places are hiring.
All the best.
Confidence is good. Over confidence kills. You may be the big fish at law school but in a firm- you are bottom of the ladder and need to traverse up.
Mail them or through website or LinkedIn..what should I keep in mind before searching for such opportunities
I think I may enjoy IP, L&E, GC, etc
After one year, I have an offer from a tier 2 firm with a 60% hike.
So i think it is possible, you can def do it. You might get a lot of rejections at the beginning but its not an impossible task.
That would be really really helpful.
The Achilles' heel of the LLM in India is the lack of a clear purpose among students. In NLS, approximately half of the students pursue it only for the prestigious image it carries.
Another quarter undertake it with the intention of preparing for judicial exams, unaware of the course's rigorous demands. The remaining fraction often enrol due to a lack of better alternatives.
Only 6-7 students stand out as serious academics, embodying the true essence of scholarly pursuit within the LLM program
It's a standard practice at samvad don't worry don't loose hope. Keep following up till the last date.
Will help you out on weekend
I am not able to understand. Somebody please explain.
Post hoc ergo propter hoc. Do you know what that means?
I was surprised to see that the 'Japan Times' had run an article which said BJP will suffer a defeat in these elections, but only to find out at the end of the article that it was written by Shashi Tharoor 😂. In fact, most of these 'BJP losing majority' articles that I read, were simply new articles quoting opposition leaders saying the same (most of these articles were simply quoting or referencing Tharoor).
