If it's a PPO from a law firm then you can expect a higher salary but if it's chamber practice then it's always been that low or maybe even lower..
Sometimes in house jobs also pay good, sometimes it's 4-5LPA.
Honestly depends on a case to case basis
wtf u mean you "only" achieved a double digit rank, that puts you literally above 99.8% of CLAT takers, have some confidence in yourself
college is supposed to teach everything from the basics anyways, they dont expect you to know everything
feel free to ask when you feel lost during one of the retarded discussions we're having in the group

And after attempting the paper if i am unable to crack it, so what are the back up options?
For vertical like immigration of UK/Canada/US, after spending 4 years can someone switch to a Tier-1 and if so which teams.
Please advise
I have no intention to work 70 hours a week for peanuts in a chambers, but that appears to be the only option in front of me.
We should let medical bills for parents and education bills for siblings go unpaid , and waste our time not getting educated at one of these universities where it’s impossible for regular folks to even get in to perform your idea of bravery ? Which is going and sitting in some tent and yelling slogans about a conflict with people who know nothing about that conflict ?
That’s what you want people to do ?
It’s brave to be fighting as a soldier in the conflict right now - you’re putting your life at risk. But these protestors are not actually gonna make a difference and they know they will be safe the entire time. Because they are physically not in Gaza- they’re on their school campus and no one is going to hurt them. What’s brave about that ?
I’m not saying people should be self interested. I’m saying there’s a difference between movements that are ground up - that involve the rights of poor people materially and that require protests because other ways to work within the system have failed. And ideological commitments to a never ending war in the Middle East. Those guys have been killing themselves and each other for ages. It’s a dumb religious thing that makes peace impossible. Buying into one sides narrative or pretending this is morally simplistic and trying to get arrested for it ? That’s a luxury belief.
I don’t think the students who support Hamas would particularly support womens rights. Idk. Just a thought.
It’s not like the Vietnam war at all. The reason majority of Americans by 1960s were against the Vietnam war was because people they know had been drafted and killed in a war at the edge of the world that America was losing. The equivalent protest would be Palestinians protesting Hamas because they were provoking a war that would kill their babies and would be lost. Or Israelis protesting a war because they didn’t want the hostages or Israeli soldiers to be killed. It is deeply sad that these protests have not happened - apart from stray protests in Israel. And they’ve not happened because this is a never ending religious war. The equivalent is not American and English college students protesting to tell two non American non English people how to behave. And doing so from a place of profound ignorance about the conflict.
Oddly, anytime there's a post about this matter, 3-4 comments with very similar writing styles pop up calling for the Registrar and Director's exits. Reeks of an agenda.
Pl stop these posts before we all file a petition to remove wifi access in NLUs.
2.Reducing the definitions of "man" and "woman" solely to "adult human male" and "adult human female" is an extremely outdated and narrow view of gender. It fails to account for the complexities of gender identity extending beyond just biological traits.
Gender identity is now understood by medical experts to exist on a spectrum, with some individuals identifying as non-binary, 3red gender, or somewhere between/outof of the male and female binary. To dismiss these identities as mere "social stereotypes and gender expression" is highly disrespectful to their very existence.
3.While sex and gender are related concepts, they are not the same. One's assigned biological sex does not automatically determine one's internal sense of identity or gender expression. Defining these terms narrowly promotes an exclusionary ideology, not objective fact.
4.You are right that historically, women's health issues around pregnancy and reproduction were dismissed and their suffering ignored by male-dominated medical field.
However, this systemic misogyny has no direct link to transgender identities. Extending compassion and rights to other such groups does not diminish women's identity or undermine efforts to battle gender discrimination against females.
Referring to "pregnant people" does not take away from the biological reality that only females can get pregnant it simply recognizes that some individuals who can get pregnant identify outside of the female gender.
i never said that trans men can get pregnant. claiming pregnancy and childbirth are inherently tied only to the female gender identity is inaccurate. contrary to your ignorant belief a simple google serach would have sufficed to see few examples-
https://www.parents.com/pregnancy/everything-pregnancy/transgender-man-gives-birth-to-healthy-baby-talks-navigating/ and
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-64495574
5.Dismissing non-binary or third gender identities as mere claims about having special "souls" with no gender displays a deep ignorance of how some people authentically experience their gender and sense of self.
The examples you give about non-binary having to follow strict gendered cultural expressions (like clothing) fundamentally misunderstands what it means to be non-binary. Their identity is not defined by adherence or rejection of societal gender roles and stereotypes. It's about their internal sense of gender existing outside of or transcending the male/female binary.
Stating that "no one feels all masculine or feminine all the time" and that "everyone is non-binary in their personality," while true for many, invalidates and oversimplifies the very real experiences of those who do feel a sustained identity as non-binary, genderfluid, or other non-cisnormative identities.
6.The claim that "there is no such thing as being born in the wrong body" is false. Gender dysphoria, the distressing disconnect between assigned sex at birth and internal gender identity, is a recognized medical condition.
Describing medical transition procedures like surgeries and hormone therapy as "disasters that will shred your body" is not just factually inaccurate but extremely disrespectful to the lived realities of transgender individuals. These treatments save lives and alleviate clinically diagnosed anguish.
Transitioning physically and/or medically is not about catering to mere "feelings" as you suggest. It is driven by physiological and neurological factors determined by mainstream science and endorsed worldwide by leading psychological and psychiatric professionals.
To call this settled medical consensus "misogyny" that harms women is absurd gaslighting. Recognizing transgender identities validates lived experiences - it has no inherent impact on the rights, identities, or struggles of cisgender women.
7.You reveal a profound lack of understanding of intersex conditions and the humanity of intersex individuals. lets fact check you a)there are actually more than 30 different intersex variations (advice-dont use chatgpt for your information sources). b)calling the atrocities on them as malpractics seriously undermines the gravity of such abuse ,and ignores that hat they go through are human right violation and just breeds inaction. Intersex is not a "genetic defect" nor a "disorder of sexual development." It is a naturally occurring biological variation in sexual anatomy, sex characteristics, or chromosomal makeup.
they have distinct medical needs and can face discrimination or lack of appropriate legal identification if their existence outside traditional male/female binaries is not accounted for.
Intersex variations exist on a broad spectrum. Simply stating that "you're male if you have a Y chromosome" is wildly reductive. An intersex person may possess a combination like XXY or have anatomy contradicting their chromosomal markers. Reducing them to strict XX/XY is pseudoscientific bigotry.
You even state that most intersex people "carry on fine" when in reality intersex individuals face increased risks of medical trauma, psychological issues and societal stigma. This rhetoric dismisses a marginalized group with real struggles and rights concerns.
It is abhorrent for you to accuse LGBTQ advocates of trying to "coopt intersex conditions" when you clearly lack any factual understanding of intersex human beings and their experiences.
Uplifting all who face gender-based oppression should be the goal.
You are correct that simply stating women must give birth/nurture and men must work are reductive gender stereotypes and i was wrong to put that forward. An individual's private family dynamics and parenting choices should not be dictated by societal normativity.
However, you veer into blatant hypocrisy when you support gender non-conformity for kids, but then turn around and deny the same lived truth for transgender and non-binary individuals. Why is a boy playing with dolls accepted, but a transgender woman is suddenly a catered-to "delusion"? That is an irrational double standard.
You seem to struggle with separating societal gender roles from biological sex and internal identity. Nurturing is not inherently female - it is a learned skill. Male parents absolutely can nurture children, just as females may choose not to have kids. These factors are not dependent on biological sex.
I have recently graduated and have started to send in applications to some law firms asking for an assessment internship or an interview. Most places have either not replied to such emails, or have offered an internship instead (assessment for an actual opportunity is not guaranteed). While I'm also grateful for internship opportunities, is there any way I can increase my chances of being considered for recruitment? Should I apply for a different position altogether, like a traineeship? (I'm not sure what that practically would entail, so any insight on that would be great as well) Or should I just not be emailing at all and try any other mechanisms?
Any kind of insight would be really appreciated, thank you!
Be humble if you’ve achieved something. People get brownie points for “not” doing something they have the power to do.
OTOH, if you’ve not achieved anything, don’t be humble. You aren’t that important ;)
This is my take on it. I feel that when people are humble in general, they are not irritating. They do not rub salt in other's wounds or put them down in any way or make them feel bad about themselves or cause trouble for others.
Same time you do the contrary, they will make it their goal to put you down. When you are neutral and not in their way they simply don't care, you are just another side character they encounter. But when you actually instigate/ boast/ put them down, it becomes their focus in their journey.
Everyone likes a confident person, Nobody likes an over confident person. It becomes their objective to prove the confidence wrong.
If you learn and gain the basic understanding + you exhibit the right attitude + willingness to grind, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SECURE A JOB WITH CAPITAL MARKETS TEAM OF ANY FIRM. There is enough vacancy in the market for this practice.
Preparation will not take more than 45 days.
P.S - In the process, keep your thinking cap on as a lawyer. Considering its a mundane and mind numbing work, application of mind takes you to places, as that is the challenge in this practice. :) :) :). Too much copy paste and precedent exercise in a routine manner, makes you mechanical! Keep the Lawyer in you alive. Have shown you a way to Law Firm job, leave it up to your wisdom. All the Best!!
But still, why snowflakes downvoting my comment which summarises my lived experience?
You don't like the fact that I am speaking out against it? You think you can suppress my truth? You think its not possible in this day and age?
Get out of your bubble maybe. Honestly, I prefer the overtly casteist people, not these liberal snake casteists who pretend or don't know how casteist they are.
This is in continuation of the CJI's use of the phrase "pregnant person". Since I want to focus on a different aspect of this phrasing, I've started a new thread. He implied that women, trans men, and "others" can get pregnant, and it's the "others" I want to focus on here.
As a cis person, I must confess to not fully understanding the concept of being non-binary. While I am familiar with and understand what it means to be a trans man or a trans woman (and am wholeheartedly supportive), I am doubtful about whether non-binary is a real thing. I know very few non-binary people (5-7 in total, but I spend a LOT of time with them and am very close friends with them) and as far as I've seen, all of these people have severe mental health issues (anxiety, depression, etc.) and have experienced some kind of childhood/teenage trauma. The non-binary people I know (which is admittedly a very small sample size) are extremely angry with the world at large and express their anger in a variety of ways (usually directed at those near them - friends, family, etc.)
Venting paragraph ahead - This can get really exhausting. I am not responsible for non-binary friends' mental health issues, nor can I perpetually put up with their angry tantrums. I use the pronouns they want, I am as supportive as I can be, I have never expressed disbelief about their gender identity (although my conviction that it is made up for attention only grows with time and increased bad behaviour). When someone is constantly angry, they are exhausting to be around and reduce my respect for and ability to support certain groups of people. I have liberal views, and believe that freedom of speech is a key component of liberalism.
Since research backs up my claim that non-binary teens and people in their 20s have the worst mental health of all, there are a few possible explanations -
1. Their poor mental health causes them to be non-binary
2. The world's non-acceptance of them as non-binary and the constant judgment and ridicule they face causes their poor mental health
3. There is no causal relationship between the two, there is a correlation for other reasons.
If you are non-binary, can you weigh in on this? I understand that this post might come across as hostile and confrontational to non-binary people, but I request that we have a respectful conversation about this. Please let me know, thank you!

I would say try saving around 15k-20k if you are getting 60k in hand.
Revisit the book after a few years, you will see that your understanding has improved.
Over decades these extreme swings would irreversibly cause the "sacred rivers" to dry up. Insidious and steady desertification and increasing salinity ingress from the coasts will pincer the Indo-Gangetic plain into desert eventually. Sort of what's happening with Aral Sea.
The more interesting bit is that I was privy to the internal report. And it had a public release later and got slammed as scare mongering. I lost track of it and cannot recollect the specifics. But that report seems to have disappeared.
UN often does that. Buckle under pressure. UNAIDS buckled when its report on how HIV transmission took place in Indian prisons. It confirmed opens secrets.
Climate change is an inevitable and natural process. Has been happening long before humans were born. But what we in our collective wisdom have done is to go unnatural. We have jump started it and now think that the way out is space!
Currently an A1 with a disputes team in a T1 firm. The culture and team is toxic and I don't think Disputes is for me.
So want to explore or switch to other practice area probably Banking and Finance.
Any help on this topic would be appreciated
a tier 2's headquarter office or another tier 2's regional office? does the place of office increase or decrease the chance of getting ppo?
