We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

(a) laterally move to another tier-1/2 law firm in TMT; or
(b) move to corporate/M&A/PE/VC.
How do I do (a) when I do not have insights into whether such firms are hiring for TMT? Who do I reach out to? Don't say recruiters please, as they BARELY post TMT hirings.
If I were to shift from TMT to corporate, how do I do it? What do I have to do to convince the firm that I can do corporate work?
Please help me out, I really need the guidance!!
Also what’s the increment structure like based on the ratings? It seems pretty opaque and shady
I am just about to be promoted to SA (hopefully no surprises there) and this post made me feel like an AI description of my partner's habit. I am more scared than excited about my prospects here.
I think another aspect you can write is the absence of mid management (there are no counsels, other SAs in the team) and I think that's a gigantic red flag as well.
Mods, again: PLEASE BUMP
Show me one human being who doesn’t have a sex , or who produces some third gamete- a spegg- intersex people aren’t “between the two sexes”. Intersex people have differences of sex development that means at some point their sexual development halted or got interrupted/ that doesn’t make them a third sex. A ma with a micropenis isn’t less of a man and a woman with hirsuitism isn’t less of a woman.most intersex conditions are sexed conditions- meaning they only happen to one set of people - either male people or female people. So saying someone is intersex is basically saying they’re a male person or a female person with a condition.
In any case most trans identified people don’t have any DSDs. Human beings can’t change sex by proclamation alone. It’s not magic and we’re not gods- we’re beasts like every other animal on this planet.
Public Healthcare in general is available to all irrespective of income. You or I can visit Aiims and avail free treatment even if we can afford to pay for private treatment. that's what taxes are for. Same logic would apply for gender transition surgeries as well. In any case, govt funded schemes sometimes have income limit, but this can be done irrespective of the persons gender identity.
Ex Facie these judicial proceedings are very unsettling. Justice cannot look like this. Did this litigant manage to speak at all during the hearing. And Open Justice means that people watching should be able to understand what happened. But without knowing the contents of the petition, we don't know anything. And if a litigant is being described as a blackmailer by the Court, he should at least be heard first. The most basic principle of law and justice that no man will be condemned unheard has not been followed here.
In many jurisdictions including the US, court petitions are accessible to the public on court websites. We need to do this in India as well. Justice needs to be open. Justice must always be seen to be done.

But, what if I entered, & worked for a few years not only to save some capital but to gain experience & learn how things move around, & then pivot back to academia?Would it still be very implaussible, kinda?
I'm not completely novice.I hold a diploma in banking & finance from IIBF; and understanding of econ. is swaddled with core macro theories; although I concur, there shall be way more to learn in transactions, other than theory.
Thanks again for your message!
Welcome to equality i guess
I used to date a girl in school and junior college. We broke up around the time I joined law school.
She later went on to do Bsc. Nursing worked as a Nurse in a large Mumbai hospital for some years.
Last week I came across her profile on a social media platform. And I saw that she had moved to London to work as a nurse under the NHS, and then later got married to a guy who also is an allied healthcare dude, along the lines of a nurse.
Now I got curious and did a little stalking and some research. Per mine and AI estimates, the couple together makes 135k+ GBP per year. With pension, with a lot of time to spare, WLB. Max 50 hours a week with extra work. 37.5 with only NHS work.
They can buy a 550k house on mortgage comfortably at this point in time. And also have money for an okayish BMW because it's only 7 months of their savings.
And in INR terms still have savings of 3+ Lakhs per month. That they can invest in India.
You as a corporate law partner can max have a sea facing house in Mumbai. But they can invest in a 4bhk house in London or some other city.
To match their current earnings and lifestyle as an Indian you'd need to earn a profit, of 1.5 crores per year, assuming you're a businessman. Meaning a turnover of 8-12 cr with healthy profit margin.
