Hello! I'm a first year at a tier 1 NLU and am thoroughly disappointed: the faculty is horrendous and have no sort of a pedagogy and are the least bit interested/dont seem to know much about their subject (this is not a bad assessment of our faculty: if you were to ask a lot of them any questions, they will defer. my seniors will agree on the same.) The students, at least in my batch, are equally bad. I would like to once again clarify I really do not have a superiority complex: I have visited, and spent extensive time in various other law colleges and the faculty/student body situation there wasn't nearly as bad.
There is no kind of intellectual stimulation, the exams are incredibly easy and it is childs work to get a 9 CGPA. In the first semester, I started studying for my finals the night prior and got an 8.5 CGPA at the end of it all. That is not to say that I am incredibly smart, but to say that the papers are not challenging whatsoever.
After getting a <10 rank in our moot court and ADR intras, I was allotted a negotiation competition, for which after exactly 0 hours of prep and reading the problem an hour before my rounds, I made it to the grand finals. Almost every team from my college that went to this competition performed well.(I am sure this was a relatively easier comp, but my point still stands)
There are no active centres (seriously), and the societies barely do any work. I know this is something which is specific to my college, since the societies of other tier 1 NLUs are significantly more active, which I can see through their instagram pages. I would've loved to contribute to any kind of research, but sadly none of the centres are particularly active either.
All of this is to say that I am losing my passion for pursuing law. College life is incredibly boring, there is no intellectual stimulation and the student body is dull at best. I would greatly advice any and all advice, since I feel like I will lose my mind in the next 4 years.
1. EY has seen the potential of this service line and the impact it can generate.
2. Others (like KPMG, PwC, Grant Thornton, and Deloitte) will follow suit.
3. The scope of the new centre is at the core of what NFSU does.
4. The influence and impact NFSU is having on the entire ecosystem.
5. An excellent opportunity for NFSU students for internships and placements.
6. This is beyond the capacity of traditional law firms and NLUs.

My parents are much nicer. They give me pocket money for doing absolutely nothing.
It's the first time since 1973 that an Indian has won the best speaker award. An achievement to cherish!
And of late, the crowd hasn't been of the best quality, who are choosing hedonism and avoiding the struggle to strive.
A long term paralegalship/assessment internship which can be converted at a t1 or t2 might be a better suited option than cold emailing for a job directly.
A lot of smaller boutique firms or newer firms would also be a lot more responsive to cold emails.
Another option, would be getting in touch with your university alumni group, and reaching out to them for potential opportunities, they would be a lot more responsive and open to helping you with opportunities. All the best!
You'll get seniors who'll be evil as hell and justify this behaviour by saying that we faced worst things as compared to "YOUR GENERATION".
Empathy and basic humanity is elusive in this profession. But remember many those gatekeepers in this profession who have made it their family business also suffer internally like unhappy life with partner/family and the feeling of being replaced every single moment.
There are tons of examples but the split of Amarchand Mangaldas and Luthra tells you about fickle minded human nature.

I have read a lot of posts here regarding the irrelevance of LLM if I want to go into Corporate later but the thing is I don't have a lot of options right now. Only offer I got was for 7LPA after applying on my own.
My main aim will be regulatory exams with corporate just as a backup, if I don't crack anything till my LLM ends.
My UG was from a Tier 2 NLU. Also before someone suggests a foreign degree, it is not economically feasible for me.
