The HR of every firm will consider your application on merits. It is their job and is based on the SOPs that we have in place.

At least take the effort of reading the article that you are posting - "The spike comes amid disclosures that top government engineers in power utilities draw up to Rs 7 lakh per month, while senior sanitation workers in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) can earn close to Rs 2 lakh a month after long years of service and revisions"

I wonder how this compares with lawyer salaries, and if it’s worth for law graduates to consider low-level careers with the Telangana state government in different capacities? Is it better to be a stenographer with the Telangana government, than a junior lawyer practising in the High Court? Or even a lawyer with a small firm?

Of course, I guess knowledge of Telugu is a must, and they will also be heavy reservation for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Unless your undergraduate constitutional scholar is the world's next A.V. Dicey, Walter Bagehot, Ivor Jennings, Carol Harlow or Sir David Williams, I don't think we are gonna see anything other than amateurish bilge coming out of any attempt at "[engagement] with constitutional law" through "research, writing". You need to have read constitutional law like crazy first, both at university as an undergraduate and beyond, and done at least a few of the other activities listed in this post, before you can even begin to think of research. And that doesn't include having been rigorously trained in jurisprudence and legal theory at an advanced level, along with advanced training in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, so that you at least have the tools to try and make an original contribution to knowledge through the "[engagement]". Of course, it's great to try and engage with constitutional law through blogs and so on, but even there, you need to read first (blogs like UKCLA and publiclawforeveryone.com are examples that spring to mind at the top of the head) before trying even that yourself. And that doesn't include training in related fields, such as human rights and international law. Are the law schools providing all these? Sanjay Jain, who teaches con law and juris at NLSIU, points out that it is very difficult for him to discriminate between which he loves more - con law or jurisprudence - because of the connections and mixing up in the two fields. Are the students being taught jurisprudence (and con law) in a way that reveals these beautiful connections or not? Those are more hard-hitting questions to ask IMO. Are the law schools maybe encouraging people to go for jobs like research assistant posts at the law commission or judicial clerkships? Are those roles as well represented in a university's career destination report figures as commercial law at firms? What you want to also ask is if the universities have the kind of centres (meaningfully running) like the Global Centre for Democratic Constitutionalism at UCL and events like that centre's Public Law Seminar Series. If so, are students given opportunities to attend? Are they maybe involved in the organisation of those events? And are they involved to some degree at least in the discussions that take place around constitutional law scholarship discussed at those events? You need to start small first, before you get into big things.

Do students today still meaningfully engage with constitutional law and theory beyond treating it as just another mandatory subject? While many students continue to find constitutional law intellectually fascinating, one must ask whether that interest translates into sustained, serious engagement capable of shaping legal discourse.

In an era where career trajectories appear increasingly corporate-oriented, constitutional law risks being reduced to a classroom requirement rather than a lived academic and intellectual pursuit. Are students engaging with constitutional theory outside the syllabus through research, writing, litigation, public law forums, or critical debate? Or has constitutionalism become more symbolic than substantive within law school culture?

The question is not merely about curricular presence, but about intellectual commitment. If law schools are to remain spaces that nurture public reasoning and constitutional imagination, engagement must extend beyond examinations and into scholarship, institutional conversations, and interventions in contemporary debates.

Is that still happening, or are we witnessing a quiet retreat from constitutional discourse within our campuses?

IIM rohtak is yet to be a top management school and you guys chose to study law there?

Bar council should take strict action against this dummy law college. For 5 years they have no Dean, no director of law school and not a single faculty appointed as assistant or associate professor. No question of a single full professor. They appoint only Lecturers and that also on ad hoc or contract basis.

The director of IIM Rohtak who is himself facing with so many charges including falsifying his bachelors degree to get his job has no interest in law program except making money from it.

Students must beware. Go to any xyz law college or even Galgotias but don’t burn money in the name of iim here.

We have a PA in our firm that has decided to mother us juniors instead of actually training us.. Many NLUs boast significantly high placement percentage in their reports but a keen look at the data raises some doubts. Nalsar placed about 95/137 students of their batch this yr, and NLUJ too placed 95/135. But the question is why didn't the remaining 25+% students not sit for placements like in NUJS which placed 122/127? Did all of them not prefer corporate/firms or did they know that they hadn't any chance to begin with? I couldn't find any open discussions about this so is there a juking of stats or am I missing something? please correct me if I am. Thank y

Yes, of course, arriving at the conclusion that precedent does not exist on a point (after searching for it for a considerable point of time) is tantamount to not doing one's work properly. Maybe you need to understand that precedent does not necessarily exist on every single proposition which can be thought of.

I am a first-year law student at a Tier-1 NLU (completing my second semester in April 2026) and am currently seeking internship opportunities for the May–June 2026 cycle.

I want to explore commercial litigation, especially insolvency and NCLT practice, and would prefer to intern in Mumbai. During the previous internship cycle (November–December 2025), I completed two district court internships I saw civil and criminal litigation.

I now wish to see commercial disputes as a practice, especially in forums such as the NCLT. However, I am not sure what would be good places to apply to, given the fact that I would have only just finished my first year at the time of internship. I really want to be able to work and observe closely, and am thus looking for places that would allow for such an opportunity while still being in the 1st year.

Hi OP, I am a T1 NLU grad who graduated in a bottom 25% rank with 4 job offers, including from two T1 law firms. It can be done - but is a question on making the best of every opportunity you get. I'd absolutely kill it in every internship — never had one where I wasn't offered at least a callback. Then I'd network and make connects with everyone — seniors at college, alumni, guest faculty who were otherwise working professionals, etc etc. Easier than you think: just read up on their practice areas / areas of interest, demonstrate genuine interest, and be honest about needing an opportunity. Don't ask for the opportunity (unless you've interned / worked with them), ask for guidance. Eventually, go back and show that you did what they suggested, and if that doesn't automatically get you something else, it will at least make you look like a viable candidate and you can then go on to request an opportunity/reference.

Also, re: your rank, just show improvement. Read up before the class. Have an idea of what's going to be talked about and everything in the class becomes easy. If you can, make notes. If you can't, beg and borrow from seniors. That coupled with a genuine demonstration of interest and people willing to vouch for your dedication will almost definitely get you a job offer.
