Is small and mid size firms doing any justice to their juniors by always recycling their juniors. One wonders is it worth joining any of these firms anymore?

The partner's remain intact irrespective of their flaws...but the juniors gets replaced every 1 year. An associate that I knew got displaced like this.... recently...so from what I have heard...they have new faces as an associate pool every 2nd year.

The real concern here is not whether ELP “survives” as a brand. It is what happens to the people and practices left behind after the restructuring. If Tax/Trade is indeed moving out, the remaining firm needs to answer a far more fundamental question: what is the business model, leadership structure and growth strategy for the residual ELP? Associates cannot reasonably be expected to make career and financial decisions based on rumours while senior management remains silent. A firm may survive a partner exodus, but prolonged uncertainty inevitably affects retention, morale, compensation and client confidence. Transparency is now not optional, it is essential.

The respective parent Acts allow CA to appear and also to practice. Also CAs aren't on deed of firms so they are not partners but either employees or retainers. And as regard your 'concession' that it is not 'automatically' illegal to hire CAs, there was never bar, so don't color the thing as something which it is not (and learn to be honest) and there's no nexus of CA appearing before tribunal under the provisions of respective legislation permitting and their employment. And in any case, CAs can't appear in court. So there's no question about it. And no firm represents itself as a joint legal and accountancy practice. So where's the question of all this long comment being relevant?

You will not face any physical discrimination because of this but there maybe subtle discrimination,that would arise out of resentment that you got a way lower rank than most and still managed to get admission there. Especially sometimes it may be from drop year generals who might have tried and got a rank higher than you earlier but still failed to get admission

A few days ago, I received my internship confirmation for the B&F team at Vritti law. I am a 9th semester student. Is it wise to take up the internship considering it is lined up next year? Do they hire interns in their 9th sem? Moreover, do they hire interns at all?

I love that people have spent hours bitching about me, but apparently couldn’t spare a minute to actually read what was written, or even establish whether I’m first-generation or not.

But there is something I find particularly amusing about all of this.

Is there stagnation, at PA level, if you don't have clients of your own?

I see a lot of seniors from my college get promoted from Associate to PA in 3-4 years and then stay at PA level another 4 years +

How does once break the cycle? considering evey year new promotions / new PAs are made. Where are they all accomodated?

Law “firms” are hardly firms in the traditional sense. The concept of “salaried partners” does it exist in the West.

Hello :) I'm a penultimate-year law student specializing in tax law, I am planning to apply for a long-term internship under Senior Advocate Rohan Shah during my final year, with the goal of securing a PPO. However, I have two major concerns:

1. 1. I’ve heard that candidates who join via a PPO after interning are sometimes still treated like interns compared to external fresh recruits.
2. 2. Financial stability is a top priority for me. I am unsure about the compensation structure in his chambers, as well as how chamber practice compares to law firm practice in terms of pay scale and career trajectory for tax law. I'm more inclined towards chambers since I wanna practice litigation however the payscale is stopping me from doing so.

Work is awesome (got assigned on a tax evasion matter, abac DD and a POSH case when i was there), but you need to know the facts and applicable law relevant to your case . Can’t rely blindly on ai tools since the work you submit is actually checked and assessed

Team is dynamic and young and they spend time explaining stuff (which is better than most toxic places that I’ve interned before this).

Office is a little far (in Noida) but rest all’s quite nice. i dont think applying after a break is a problem as long as you have a compelling cover letter and a good enough reason for the break.

Hi. Im a non NLU student and have started wondering about whether or not I will ever be able to secure an internship at a Tier 1 law firm without a referral ever. I have done 3 internships so far and my GPA is 7+/10. I started my CS Executive prep recently out of sheer desperation, Ive also probably sent 100s of emails with a cover letter and what not. Im in my fourth year now and I want advice on where and how to apply to places that might not outright reject me bc of my college. Any advice is more than welcome. Thank you.
