NUJS- BSC LLB
NUJS BA LLB- NRI SPONSORED (50 lakh but i can pay)
NLUO
HNLU
SLS PUNE
im comfortable with paying 50 lakh for the NRI SPONSORED fee for NUJS, but idk if its worth it... 50 lakh for BA over bsc?? i genuinely dont have any idea, but i need y'alls opinion on this, also i think WBNUJS BSC LLB is my brightest option so far, i mean, NUJS is NUJS end of day, and they dont differentiate much bw bsc and ba while placing, or so i've heard.
NLUO is my next best option, heard its improving fast af, and its better than HNLU and sls
id really appreciate you legal professions helping a 12th grader start a career, thank you
(a) you need to distinguish between your anxieties (constant fear of getting fired or getting threats of being fired, miscommunication as to what the end deliverable will be, missing small things) and things that are actually problematic at your workplace (Getting reprimanded weekly for everything under the sun, not doing the work on weekend that I was asked to take up the next wednesday). If your anxieties are largely due to how you are treated in your team and the environment that you face day on day - then you have a problem. A place which strikes down your confidence for the wrong reasons and in a wrong way - is not worth working at (some humbling is part of professional life - e.g., when you meet someone who can solve a problem you are grappling with with ease - but that is fine). So take a call.
(b) There is always an adjustment period. If you are 6 months into the profession - you will make mistakes. You need to commit to learning from them and having a system through which they don't get repeated. But I would say, it is as much a responsibility of your seniors to mentor you with some compassion. By doing this, they are not doing samaj sewa- but rather ensuring that you become a contributor to the team's work (which also in the long run would benefit their bottom line). If your seniors don't understand this and you are not getting the required mentorship - please move to a different place. No point suffering as a broken person (& also not learning).
Yes.
If the former is true, is it better to start with an AOR/ established litigator?

I will recommend this order.

This problem is absolutely true. At the fundamental level, the lack of sleep and work life balance causes these SAs, PAs, and partners to become lazy bosses and mentors.
They give lazy instructions and have absolutely no inclination or aptitude to be mentors. I remember a senior millennial boss of mine, expected A0s to know everything right out of law school. Chutiya himself didn't know law properly, and I now know gave wrong legal opinions. (Pls don't censor chutiya fully pls.) He didn't last long in the practice, and now sells snake oil - iykyk.
I mean you talk about professional environment and behave like a kid yourself, if I mess up. Come tell me about it, I think we should discuss it, no matter how bad, so that I know not to make it next time.
Apka friend, husband yaa family nhi hoon jo, silent treatment doge mreko :/
Proper delegations/ instructions, etc are all fine. But if I have to teach you basic word skills or correct grammar- thatโs a serious issue.
No guidance, want everything in one day Or a few hours, and then blatantly say we extract only money and work from you. As if we are your slaves!
Some years into the profession now, and Iโve had my fair share of toxic bosses. But my first one? Truly a โฎโฎโฎ.
Background:
She was a Senior Associate then. Competent at her work. As a mentor though, she was terrible. Work would be dumped on me with zero context, zero guidance. When I tried to figure things out on my own, Iโd be met with absolute hellfire.
Her logic was simple: โMy seniors never helped me. I figured it out on my own. You should too.โ
Fair enough, mistakes happened, I owned them. The berating was understandable because it was understandable.
What was worse was the silent treatment that followed. Days of being ignored, no communication, no feedback, until suddenly everything was โnormalโ again. And then the cycle would repeat.Eventually, I moved to another firm with better mentors and a healthier environment.
Now:
Iโm now in-house as a Senior Legal Counsel. Sheโs a Partner at another firm. And her firm is one of our regular external counsels forming a major part of her book.
The moment she realised Iโd be her point of contact, I got a text: the usual polite small talk, followed by โhope whatever happened in the past is in the past and wonโt affect our work.โ
No, maโam.
Itโs very much my time to rain hellfire and make you miserable, of course before I take my business elsewhere.
1. There was no Aryan invasion but Aryan migration. Unlike major Christian Sects of India which was byproduct of British colonialism (Not talking about St Thomas Christians).
2. Most of Hinduism is Pre Vedic. With roots from IVC (pashupati, Naga worship, Peeples reverence, shivalinga, etc) and non IVC Prevedic cultures - like the Baghor Kali Yantra, and various mother goddesses.
3. There are much better points to advocate for celebrating Christians than trying to do a historically inaccurate Gotcha
NLUJ
GNLU
This is correct order in my view.
I have given a few internship interviews (around 3 to 4), but I keep fucking up and miss out on great opportunities. I blank out on utterly easy questions, which is embarrassing to think about post-interview.
This has really started affecting me and has brought me down. I have one interview next month, which I cannot screw up at any cost.
Any tips or advice (on what topics to cover for gen corp/M&A interviews) would be helpful. Really grateful, thanks.
While the quality of work is good, the work environment has not been particularly supportive. My seniors are not toxic per se, but I am often left to fend for myself, with limited guidance on deliverables.
I want to move to a firm where I can rely on my seniors for guidance and mentorship. Pay is not a concern for me at this stageโlearning is.
In this context, I would appreciate guidance on whether it would be advisable to start reaching out to recruiters to explore available options, or whether it would be better to wait and reassess after some more time.
I am from a TLC and reaching out to friends for opportunities is out of option.
End of the story!
โThis report shatters several widespread misconceptions about the social composition of students in Indian higher education,โ said Prof. Krishnamurthy. โContrary to the prevailing narrative, students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) overwhelmingly dominate enrolment and significantly outnumber General Category students.โ
Although the study covered tens of thousands of universities in India, the micro-level data for NLUs is not clear. In addition to caste reservation, NLUs also have domicile reservation. This could end up benefiting upper castes.
Does anyone have any data from NLUs?

I have done more than quality internships without any references, all through myself. Received extremely GOOD feedbacks from all the places, did call backs twice at two different places, but did not hear anything from them regarding PPO.
No idea what I'm gonna do after graduation. Nothing against litigation, but I cannot start out on a 20k job for some personal reasons.
I'm not demoralised or anything like that, still have hopes that something will work out. Just leaving this here, to all fellow mates in a similar situation, if you have put in the effort to do quality internships, dw, something will work out at the end. Cheers :)
I feel like (totally my personal opinion) in the race for a bigger paycheck and a bigger name on your CV, you lose out on the little things that made work bearable.
Ab toh bas ghar ka aaram chhodkar roz nikal padte hai, aaram kamaane:)
1. A pet is a great stress buster when you get home from work.
2. Having a pet is like having a baby. Every decision you make (including thinking of going to a later night party or going for an office retreat) will need to consider 2 persons instead of 1 (yes - pets are persons, and have emotions).
3. If you're someone who's looking to enjoy bachelor / bachelorette life and the freedom you have once you get to Bengaluru - this may not be the best decision right now.
4. The initial phase at work may be tricky where you're having to work extra hard to impress your team. This may mean longer hours and more stress (not sure how you handle stress) which could also have an impact on your time / ability to take care of the baby.
You can of course consider fostering pets for a bit and take a call instead of adopting one on day 1 and try it out yourselves instead of asking a group here. If you think it's too much work - you can do this a couple of years later when you are more at ease with work.
Disclaimer - I have multiple pets and had the same issues you do currently. I got them 4 / 5 years after joining work. It's been 4 years and haven't regretted it for a day :)
