Nothing against GS, he may be good, but nearly not good enough to the extent people here keep hying him up. There's no dearth of quality Counsels and Mentors, it baffles me to see just these 2-3 names popping up every now and then.
I agreed to do so, but then I felt very awkward about going and asking another lawyer to seek a passover. I made a couple of half hearted attempts which did not translate and ultimately, the matter was called out, and there was no representation made, which led to a warrant being issued against the client.
He was obviously miffed but did not scold me. I have no idea how i got off easy on that.
In my first year, I was asked to follow up on a matter on daily basis to track its listing for hearing in a particular court. Saw the listing and still sent an email saying not listed (copy pasted from last email - what a rookie mistake) :P
Seniors got to know early morning - I guess through the Client, and I got yelled at badly and got fired :(
Ten years down the line, learnt a lot from all such mistakes - now a Partner at T1. So fuck yeaahhh :)

You may have worked in your time with few hours of sleep and absolutely no work–life balance. A lot of things that were considered “normal” back then are neither normal nor acceptable today. That does not mean we should be expected to repeat the same.
All that no sleep has fried your brain cells, especially the ones that deal with communication, because clearly you can’t communicate the end point of the deliverable or the instructions.
We want to have at least some sort of work–life balance on some days.
Stop blaming Gen Z. The real issue is poor management and lack of proper delegation. Work is dumped without proper guidance, and when it is completed based on whatever understanding we manage to piece together, we are abused for not doing it “correctly.” Then the same people complain about being called toxic on Legally India . What did you expect? Tariff karu? Arti Utaru?
If I knew everything at an A0 level, I would not be on your team, I would be training you on how to manage and train juniors.
It is high time seniors learn how to properly train and delegate work. You cannot just drop tasks on juniors and expect them to magically figure everything out.
The Partner berates the PA, the PA does the same to the SA, and the SA then takes it out on the associates.
This trickle-down toxicity makes no sense.
Any practice area would be great - although preferably - disputes, wcc/investigation, GC/ cap marks. 🙏🏻
I'll be very grateful for any help I can get. I'm a first gen so please be kind hehehe.
Dropping my email too, in case you wanna connect there - lawstudent1712@gmail.com
Lastly, my most important question, does it make sense for me, as someone who got a rank of 15XX last year, to take a partial drop and go for any college that is higher? Thank you.
HC have power to increase seats if any injustice due to mistake of adminstration.
Isn’t it same with legal??
Compared to symbiosis Christ academic culture is non existent. Being strict and treating students and faculties like a Child is not a good substitute for not having an academic culture. The current dean and ex HOD has ▮▮▮.
My preference is places where the work and people are good and actually mentor or provide guidance.
I have heard that some IP boutique firms can assign you to a team that only does opposition or filing work and wanted to confirm if this was true.
Would appreciate inputs

Please geek out on this and help your girl out. Thank you so much!
I'm often sreprimanded for mistakes most of which are usually made when I'm confused about something and do not want to disturb my senior by asking them up every 30 minutes. Sometimes, I'm certain that I'm completing my assignments in the correct way but then later I'm confronted with my mistakes.
I want to be seen as an associate whom the partner can rely upon.
I lose my momentum after each setback then it takes at least a couple of weeks to get the confidence back.
Other A0s here, do you also experience this? Do you feel lost too? Like you don't know anything, constant fear of getting fired or getting threats of being fired, miscommunication as to what the end deliverable will be, missing small things, idk, please share your experiences.
6 months as an A0 and I feel dumb as if I am growing and then coming back to where I started. Getting reprimanded weekly for everything under the sun (drafts, emails, following instructions to the T, not doing the work on weekend that I was asked to take up the next wednesday)
BR Gavai: “What I have seen on your program is that it has been projected as if we have given a complete license for mining in the Aravalli hills, but that's not correct. If you go through the judgment, we have in fact imposed certain more restrictions on mining in the Aravalli hills and ranges”.
Arnab Goswami: “The nation is angry, 80% of the people feel there should be a revisiting of the judgment. What is your view on revisiting the judgment?”
BR Gavai: “I cannot make any comment on that because any comment by me may be prejudging the issue because I am out of the system”.
Arnab Goswami: “I’ll appreciate your coming on air tonight because I got a chance to put some straight questions”.
BR Gavai: “I again say that you have not read the judgment completely”.
Arnab Goswami: “I have read every word of the judgment from the first to the last page”.
BR Gavai: “No, I am not trying to convince you”.
Arnab Goswami: “Anyway, we are not here to convince each other”.
BR Gavai: “Thank you very much”.

Only firms to have comprehensive capability are AZB & Trilegal where they have all skillsets and experience, both on investigations and advising/defence. AZB is strong in Mumbai whereas Trilegal is strong in Delhi. These two firms mostly do international inbound work. Domestic clients mostly are cost conscious and will go to Khaitan or JSA types, where the billing rates are almost half.
