It is because law is not something which you can rote learn only. Alot of it more like 90% of it comes down to practice, the kind of deals youll work on from A0-A2 will shape how you think / which risks you pick up / which structure gives your company enough comfort as an A3 who's shifting laterally to in-house. There is absolutely no way that you can simple "teach" someone how to think like an GC without actually working towards it. The point of law school is to increase your "ability" to learn by giving you basic knowledge of every law there is; neither litigators nor GCs nor corporate lawyers are "made" in a law school

You only have one issue - that is thinkinh you are doing law or in college for getting a job in firms. Law firms are useless. People who work there should be ashamed of themselves for chosing such a clerical area of work where they do nothing. Their contribution is nothing. They are clerks. Dont be one. If you want to do something in life, get into litigation. It has both money and respect, and isnnot clerical or a place where self entitled people living in some sort of delulu do clerical work

if you can get into a higher NLU, be it nujs, or gnlu, go for it. the atmosphere, as well as the exposure is top tier. also, coming from a tier 2 NLU myself, (I ranked in the 500s) most tier 2 NLUs are rotting rom the inside, and private UNIs are worse off. lastly, the faculty, placement opportunities and the curriculum is largely same across all disciplines, be it bballb, ballb or bsc llb.

You sound like one of those CLAT aspirants who says NLS or bust lol. IIM L and K are genuinely decent, and qualify for tier 1.5 at the bare minimum, even if not in the league or ISB/IIM ABC. However for Indore, the less said the better. The point here was not to disparage IIMs either, just to point out that ISB is also on par, and more in tune with international standards and requirements. IIM's learn from ISB and vice versa, both help each other
