I have been working at a T1 for some years now,I came from a small chamber setup. I feel lost at the T1, ostracized, called out for the smallest mistake. I feel I lost my autonomy and the way of living my life. Ppl do not even make you feel welcome, no guidance and the saddest bit is I feel trapped here. Is this what life is all about ? So you are saying that if the VC of a university gets changed, the course curriculum would change? Goes to show your immaturity. Any change would require new curriculum to be approved by the governing councils and would not be retrospectively applied. If BSc students wanted corporate roles, then they should have joined programmes more suitable for that. Nobody is limiting you anyway. Read whatever you want, intern wherever you wish. The existing faculty are not supposed to drop everything else that they are doing just to cater to you.

Graduating in 27. Good law school but very mid grades or worse. Have done t-1 internships in the past, but don't look like they'll work out. Had an internship interview at a t-1 which went terrible- I could barely answer.

I don't even know what's going to happen. Market's bleakness is freaking me out, and I just lose an opportunity in it. I need to study quite lot these coming months but everything still seems so uncertain.

I got a decent rank to get into both the colleges. Earlier I was inclined towards NLUJ (legacy, peer quality etc)

but after interacting with seniors from both the colleges, GNLU is as good if not a better bet.

the academic environment is very relaxed, corp outcomes are good, city life's better a lot of freedom to pursue hobbies and other endeavours, 2 month sem break

cons: after comparing profiles of both the colleges, NLUJ seems to be the outlier - top journals, top moots, excellent adr culture and a slight edge in Int'l placements and academia

apart from that, they also get single rooms in NLUJ but that no longer seems to be true since the batch size has increased (this may also impact employment opportunities)

NLUJ academics is too hectic, there are classes even on alternate Saturdays and tests happening every week

On the other hand, I don't think any other law school has academics like GNLU - No mid sems, less class hours, no mid-sems (with some subjects giving ec activities as evaluative endeavours)

Being a partial dropper from MNLU-M, i dreaded sitting in class , and faculty from both NLUJ and GNLU seems to be similar.

I'm currently inclined towards GNLU on the assumption that I will make judicious use of the freedom I get there

But if that's not the case, NLUJ still seems the better bet

Hi mate, I'm a person who actually made a team change possible at A0 level a few years ago, at KCO. Is it risky? Yes. The only reason I had the balls to do it was because I was offered a cushy job in the niche area I actually wanted to work in. With that offer in hand, I went to my partner and had a candid conversation about how I absolutely could not see myself working in that particular area at all. I also had an opportunity to take on some of the stuff relating to my preferred area in my erstwhile profile, and accordingly, I had a minimal connection with the desired partner and team. The partner told me to check with the equity partner and the new partner was not against me for this — but do keep in mind that I had actively built the best billable hours and reviews on my record amongst all the freshers I knew back then, before I made this leap of faith. Essentially, noone should be able to question if this is because you are lazy or can't commit to something. I also had a demonstrated interest and aptitude in the area (both before and after joining the firm) I wanted to jump into, and all those things together made it happen.

My advice? Find a partner who admires your skillset and hard work beforehand, and then reverse engineer your way from there. Go to the HR only as a last resort. And have viable backup options before you say those words aloud, and if it takes you a year to get there, then so be it.
