What is the process, and what's the scope?
While some may claim Jindal has a lot of opportunities, that’s false. The opportunities are measly with more than 1000+ people competing. See inductions for Moot Court Society, ADR and Debate Society where more than a 1000 people apply and only 70 or so people get in not because they are the only ones competent but because the opportunities are not proportionate (and can never be because of the insane batch size).
Infrastructure is absolute trash compared to what you are paying. There in round the clock full year construction - things keep breaking down because they are old and not made to accommodate so many people and we have perhaps the smallest library from all of law schools.
Your peer group would be a bunch of entitled brat druggies who have close to no interest in what they are studying.
Professors (some) are amazing and are the only thing good about the college but even they are now leaving en masse because of shitty admin.
If you have the funds to comfortably study here, do join. It’s comfortable and has all basic amenities - unlike many government colleges. But if you can’t afford, it is most certainly NIt worth taking a loan for.

Leave aside law, in any UG college course, a reasonable parent would expect their reasonable child would get a job (though I disagree with there being a 'job' in the legal profession) or have a career path which is set. The fact that your parents did not have that conversation before you graduated, and the fact that they are asking you now, after they saw you being sitting at home for so long, for so many months, means that you are spoiled - no one would have otherwise used the terms in the fashion you used - "fucked around" etc. You had and have an umbrella which protected you for so long.
You ask for advice - as to what you should do - whether join a firm, or sit and prepare for an stupid ass examination. On jobs, there is no job in aproffesion, and these law firm jobs are nothing but clerical work - something said out aloud here alot of times. Second, unless your parents have the contacts, how are you even gonna join a good law firm bro? People from poor colleges struggle to get internships even in the most shadiest of firms because of their college background, and you - a t1 nlu graduate wants to join a good law firm w/o having any experience? Not even a mid or a low tier would hire you. It may come off as harsh, but that's the truth. Second, on preparation for examinations, sir, what exams are you gonna prepare for? Without going on the merits of these useless lack of respect govt exams which people respect for no reason whatsoever, the way you call these exams stupid, and your history in college clearly shows that you won't end up studying - you'll "fuck around" again.
Clearly, there's no easy path out of this - even litigation cannot save you, or perhaps it could - because it is a great leveller and you working there might have a change of perspective, but its rather clear that a brat like you won't consider it. My advice will be to have your mentality changed - you need to change your outlook in life and get rid of this attitude - then only can you even succeed at whatever possible options you have.
Don't waste your time on exams you clearly have no discipline to see it through.
Might I suggest looking into some in house roles as well, with steady work life balance and a decent salary you can have your space to grow at your own pace and make an informed decision maybe a year later.
Grow you LinkedIn presence, pick up a long term internship (3-5 months), use this time to write a publish papers. Time is on your side, this phase of your life is only going to strengthen you mentally.

During his tenure he got grants for the IP centre, a chair endowment from the state govt, MPLAD funds for a building, UGC grants worth 5 cr and a very healthy surplus of Rs 16 cr plus despite massive capital expenditures on buildings, campus wifi, computer purchases, ACs, and rental for second campus. Ofc there is the NAAC rating too.
Where is the deficit and the financial wrongdoing?
Also unlike other campuses in this state, no SH, substance abuse, political violence etc in and around campus. Student elections get done without any hitch. And despite being a state university, everyone gets paid on central scale and that too timely including arrears.
SJA is going to get so creamed in the next EC. Actually it just gave NKC a big shopping list and we all know who will actually benefit from those "FC/EC approved" projects all done for student and academic welfare.
I have no love for NKC. Apparently the SC order was the big trigger for SJA to organise the much debated protests. By that logic the SJA should also do something about those mentioned in the Sinha Report, which actually shows us the evidence of wrongdoing by those named, such as LDG, Navendu etc and also we can track those such as SAK, PIB who allowed the wrongdoers to get away without a scratch. LDG was also involved in slapgate. By SC logic shouldn't she and others mention the Sinha Report and Slapgate inquiries in their CVs? VPa should also similarly mention about the various inquiries against her in the CV as well. Then again NKC cleverly buried all inquiries and SJA did nothing.
Last to last month, when Gurgaon and Delhi were severely waterlogged and it was raining torrentially, the admin team sent an advisory email asking people to consider leaving early (if partners approved) to avoid getting stuck in traffic. (Yes it was that week only when there were reports of a 7-hour traffic jam in Gurgaon).

1. How hard is it to start? Not very hard to start. You'll be mostly interacting with non-lawyers. They expect simple explanations on positions, risks, and a practical assessment from you. Your job is to enable them to make informed decisions.
2. Is it easy to switch practice areas? Its not exactly a cakewalk but not impossible either. Each industry has its own specialised laws, and switching between industries will require you to catchup with the laws/practices of the new one.
And do a check at the ground level. Her atrocious comments now or earlier have been accepted by a large section of the population. As an astute politician she would have changed her utterances if she got a sense that it could cost her politically.
On a side note, Sagarika knows her well or at least saw with her own eyes what happened in a certain interview. And now see her defending CM on RG Kar etc. Ofc all for higher ideals of secularism etc.
