Great place to be. I don’t agree people micro manage. They let you be and give freedom to do. If you commit mistakes, they’ll help you overcome it. Don’t get rebuked or shamed. Senior partners don’t take all limelight. They let juniors partners and SAs shine. I have had few interactions VJ - while she manages stuff and critical matters she won’t through her weight around. Very grounded. Firm has both debt and equity - some very fancy deals and top notice strategy work in Corp. I have seen SAs literally getting the space to do what they like.

First few months/ probably years will be tough because you are suddenly doing something which you have never done before and you will feel lost. But give it time. When you learn the work, it becomes easy. Also, acceptance in mind will bring you peace. If you crib, the more you will feel like moving away.

I am an assistant professor of a private university in Kolkata. I am very deeply dissatisfied with the current academic culture of law industry. Faculties who are hired are not only unfit to teach but also lacking in industrial knowledge to actually teach law. Students are given written assignments, tests which are all copied from chatgpt. No real learning is being done. Law is becoming diluted with other social sciences. Even during BCI and NAAC inspections all documents are faked.

Apply everywhere lol.

ALL firms take in applicants on the basis of merit as well as through referrals.

Don't discount a particular firm or tie your hopes to a particular firm on the basis of "what you've heard" please.

Apply to all and don't expect much.

We want to begin by acknowledging the concerns many of you have shared about the air-conditioning issues in some of our residential hostels, while noting that the systems are working fine in a few others residential hostels of the University. This is an unusual and unprecedented situation for us as a University. Your comfort and well-being are our top priority, and we sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding you have shown as we work to resolve these challenges at the earliest.

Therefore, after careful consideration, the University has decided to suspend all classes for one week. Classes will resume on Monday, 25 August 2025. This period will give our engineers and technicians the necessary time to carry out urgent and comprehensive work on the AC chiller systems so that, when the classes resume, the campus environment is comfortable and conducive to both living and learning.

This decision was taken after comprehensive consultations with key stakeholders of the University. The Vice Chancellor, Registrar, and senior leadership team held detailed discussions with the Presidents of the Student Councils of all Schools of JGU, who unanimously agreed that this was the most appropriate step under the present circumstances. The Vice Chancellor also consulted the Deans of all Schools/ Institute, and they too extended their full support to this decision.

Students who have travelled home for the long weekend may choose to remain at home and return for classes next week, or they may return to campus earlier if they wish. Similarly, any student who is on campus and would like to go home during this week is free to do so as the choice rests entirely with the students. Please note that during this period the University will remain fully open. All facilities, including the Academic Block, will continue to be accessible to students.

1. While formal classes will remain suspended, all 150 classrooms in the Academic Block will remain open from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM for self-study, group discussions, or quiet work.
2. The Constitution Museum and History cafe will be opem, functional and accessible to all students.

3. The Vidya Devi Jindal Dining Block and all the food courts will be fully open, functional and accessible to all students.

4. All food courts in Crossover Commons will be fully open, functional and accessible to all students.

5. All office hours, tutorials, scheduled assessments, quizzes, and mid term examinations during this week will be rescheduled to a later date. Revised timelines will be communicated well in advance to give you sufficient preparation time. No student will be disadvantaged in terms of academic evaluation.

6. The global library, student lounges, and other student resources, including RASA will be open, accessible and fully functional.

7. The Performing Arts Academy will be open, functional and accessible to all students.

8. All facilities in the Naveen Jindal Sports Academy will remain fully available to you.

9. All the outdoor sports facilities including the lawn tennis courts, padel tennis courts and horse riding facilities will be open, functional and accessible to all students.

10. University Health Services Centre and Sukoon will be open and fully functional.

They hide behind the fact that the client “signed voluntarily,” even though the promises (jobs abroad, guaranteed visas, fast-tracked approvals) are false or misleading.

These companies often get your details when you apply a "job opening in Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, etc." which is in itself a violation of the Emigration Act, 1981. They then call you that you are eligible and send you emails. The most common job portals for these fake job openings are Naukri, Linkedin, Monster, etc. among many others and they target high net worth unsuspecting individuals. I have seen these companies are increasingly targeting people working in different roles and sectors in the Information Technology but they are not their only targets.

Based on my experience, they conduct a call using International number in a foreign sounding accent. They call it the counselling round. No matter how you answer, they select you the next day. Then they send you an email for "employment confirmation letter", not job letter. These are some links where you can possibly get "hired". Then they lie all the expenses are going to be taken of by the hiring company (food, can, air tickets, etc.). They then start calling you everyday to start you visa process as soon as possible and even offer heavy discounts and try to pressure you to enrol with 48 hours or something. They say since you have already cleared the "interview", the PR process is gonna be super easy. Every single of these things is just their marketing tactics, nothing else.

one cant really count on anyone to act. Your best best is to send complaints to a large number of authorities and hope that someone in the system decides to act. The BCI, state Bar Council, Education Department of the Government , Governor, Chief Justice of the High Court - I mean anyone whom you can remotely think of. thats pretty much your best bet.

Now usually anonymous complaints are not entertained by the system. but then I would advise you not to reveal your identity - we live in a third world, tin-pot republic with no accountability in any form. So, if you reveal your identity, chances are that you will experience a rebuke.

so when sending the complaint, try and attach some evidence in support of your claims. something concrete enough for someone who is willing to take action to act.

The other option is to look for someone influential or a union who can take up your complaint. Usually it's the student unions who do these things . But I suppose in a private university they are all kept out so that the studious environment is not damaged. You can try your luck getting in touch with NSUI or SFI. They may do something if they feel like. ABVP I am not sure - my experience with them has been that they are interested only in pursuing hindutva related stuff. But I guess there is no harm in asking.

When does this provision sanad become confirmed/permanent? Also any idea when I can expect to receive the physical ID card? I am a budding entrepreneur and that's something I'd definitely love to do successfully atleast once in my life but in order to do so I'll have to try multiple things over a period of time and see what sticks and what makes sense in the market in this everchanging world. I have tons of ideas and would love to execute on them over the weekends and over the years while I'm still in college. I am currently in law school and wanting to go into corporate law.

Though, SRK is a good mentor and an amazing guy to work with, but there is one senior partner in the team, who has spoiled the name and work ethics of the team, and had made it toxic. He doesnt value his juniors, colleagues or peers, rather will put in efforts to prove you wrong and pull you down.

You may do a Bar&Bench search on this senior partner, and understand the ph value of his toxicity.

Where people and their hardwork are not given values, and every work is called a 'not good work'. It is not recommended to waste your golden years, in such a team. I have been a part of this team, and have worked there for almost 2-3 years. Think wisely, before you regret again.

This is a mischievous post. The person in question has not been accused of any crime. It cannot be an impediment to a person applying for a VC position. You people don’t even know your basics of law, the difference between a legal conviction and an adverse administrative finding. Further, we don’t even know if the process of natural justice was followed and if the person was given an opportunity to be heard.

Finally, let’s look at the bottom line. The alleged perpetrator of the rape has been arrested and there is clear evidence which will probably lead to a conviction.
