What about the woman who married some dumbass because everyone told her not to wait till she's a depressed cat lady and after a few years of stress coping with him and very difficult in-laws, gave birth with difficulty only to have all these goons turn on her so that she had to go through an ugly divorce while caring for babies? Your interpretation will be that she is now depressed because she doesn't have a husband but actually the mental peace once he was gone and raising the kid with her friends and extended family is much happier for her. Her only mistake was getting pressured into marriage.

Also the women who married someone who beats her because everyone rushed her into it with this same fear mongering. I am sure she dreams of cats instead of her terrifying husband but is too scared to leave him.

And the women who are just not happy because everyone said companionship = husband and child and really they just miss their friends and independence from being a full time nanny. Why are they not on the depressed list?

It is a piece of good news that JGLS is getting more funds. What remains to be seen is what they really do with such funds. Even after almost sixteen years since being formed, the institute hasn't produced good funded research projects, nor does it lower student fees down from an obscene amount. So other than hiring marquee names in their twilight who barely teach, or hiring random freshers with foreign LLMs who can hardly teach, where is all the money going? To maintain the swimming pool?

We need to ask why millionaires are donating to Jindal (and to some extent NLSIU) and not NLUs, which really need the money. Some reasons could be:

- The NLU VCs (except Sudhir) are lethargic and don’t seek donations in the first place

- The NLU VCs (except Sudhir) are corrupt/incompetent and the donors fear that their money will be stolen or not used properly.

- Government red tape

If the evidence of wrong doing, inaction and suppression is strong email to everyone in the faculty and media. SJA has been dead ever since it was (allowed) to be hollowed out. The powers that be feared strong student body/unity and COVID gap killed off whatever spine the students could develop. Also many students underestimated the VC and his acolytes as also did their individual deals with manipulative faculty members.

Depends on the NLU, but the standard practice in all universities is that whatever name you had provided at the time of admission, unless you're changing the name legally while as a student and making a formal application to that effect, after the degree certificate gets issued, it is unlikely to be changed in the records further. A friend of mine tried for a long time before giving up.

Hello all. I am a third year at a T2 NLU down south. I recently have been dating a SA in ▮▮▮ ▮▮▮. While we love each other a lot and are content of our relationship, will it be wrong if I ask him for references for internship and can he eventually help me get a job reference contingent on my performancr? Or it is too much to ask from someone at his level. (He is extremely sweet and charming and I would not mind not bringing my career if it's a big task)

Step 1: Create an emergency fund (ideally 6 months of your expenses)
Step 2: get insurance (you will end up paying significantly more premium if you delay it)
Step 3: Divide your savings in two halves: 50 percent goes in equities (mutual funds + direct investing) and the other 50 percent in debt. Keep your eye on a few stocks (get professional advice as well) and double down on those stocks when the market crashes by taking out some of the funds from your debt portfolio.

As someone who's about to give my first interview, that too for disputes team in a T1 firm, I'm not sure as to how much of legal depth I'll be expected to know.

The partner who'll be taking my interview has a diverse practice, spanning from IBC, SARFAESI to PMLA.

Do I need to know the law verbatim to bare acts or I'm good with idea of jurisprudence of different concepts. Also what else to prepare for?

I have interned with legal chambers and firms including S&K Partners, Kay & Partners, and the Chambers of Punit Dutt Tyagi (AOR, Supreme Court), focusing on arbitration, dispute resolution, and financial laws. I also worked with SAMA (BSLSA), gaining exposure to online mediation and arbitration processes.

I’m a fresher and have two job offers. One is from a well-known firm with a strong brand. The other is from a small boutique company.

The big firm may have better long-term opportunities and name value, but the working hours are 10 to 11 hours a day. On top of that, I have a 2-hour one-way commute, so I’d be out for around 14 to 15 hours daily.

The boutique firm is less known but has a 10 to 6 schedule. Same commute, but overall it feels more manageable and healthier.

I’m seriously considering the smaller firm for better work-life balance, but I’m worried I might be making a mistake early in my career.

I graduated in May 2025 from a Tier 2 NLU. Want to get into corp but haven't been able to find a job due to the shit market so now I'm looking into paralegal/traineeships. Which firms are best for that? Considering I can't spend my time and money doing underpaid work just for them to tell me they have no vacancies. Alternatively, what firms have a practice of offering traineeships just to let go of you at the time of confirming retainership?

Left that life for a WFH gig. Getting paid half, but working just 1-2 hours a day, That’s ALL. Almost the whole day free. Spend my days playing golf, reading and with family. Have made good investments, wife also earns well running a home business with light hours. Might make a baby one of these days. 😂

I got B.E. Comp Science and Engineering from India, M.Sc. from a reputable university in Europe, worked for few years. Been wanting to do law mainly due to interest. Idea is to get into litigation but I'm afraid this would change during studies. In mid 30s unmarried. Wondering if I am shooting myself in the foot.

what practice areas are number/math heavy? batch rank 5, tier 1 nlu, but my head spins when i see numbers, i just cannot.

I'm working in a capital markets team of a boutique law firm. Due to filing pressure last month, I missed out on a lot of opportunities, and now hiring is closed for most places. My colleagues got out earlier and they got good opportunities. I have put in my papers at my current firm, however, there are not a lot of opportunities at the moment. Is looking out for a few months while sitting idle a good option. I have got a few opportunities a few merchant banks but i am not very much inclined towards the same. Can anyone suggest what is to be done in this situation?

I am in a private law school. When I was admitted my father was a government lawyer but shortly after he was removed from service. Previously we thought that we would be able to cover my expenses with a bit of loan and the rest ourselves. However, after he was removed from service we barely had any income. The education loan which I could get was only 750000. I am in my third year of law school. I cannot leave this college in this year after investing so much. Please guide me. Please
