While it reflects on the incompetence of back to back CJIs, as well as their representative judges in the EC, it also shows how apathetic the alumni have become, including those from the five batches. They could have written joint petitions, open letters and done many other things to put pressure on the Chancellor and the admin. However, they are happy to just let it be. Perfect depiction of the university these days, nobody cares anymore. Especially since any student from these batches can now collect their final certificates from the university directly without convo.

Please rename Strawberry Fields to something that reflects what NLSIU has now become (rather than what it was). The fest now features music with zero resemblance to what the Beatles played. It's an insult to the Beatles to use this name. As also to Gen X NLSIU alumni who founded the fest. Conversely, Gen Z also feels insulted to use the name of a band with four white men playing rock music, which is an irrelevant genre for them and even more irrelevant for Gen Alpha.

Some suggestions for what the new name could be, based on songs that Gen Z listens to:

- New Rules (also has a legal ring to it)

- Swish

- IDGAF

- Fein

- Tukoh Taka

1. My preferred answer: None of these. Retake CLAT again. This assumes you are happy to take a full (or partial) drop (which is based on the assumption that you do really want to study law, obviously, considering what you said).

2. A more realistic answer: Would have said NLUO over RML, but current situation makes it difficult to conclusively say that, for now, at least. Ask seniors from NLUO.

revised CLAT25 results were out today and I believe I might have a chance with tier 2 NLUs.

I am planning to join DU for LLB, and am concerned about a few things. My goal is judiciary

I have got marks which will get me in any of the three centers. I was planning for LC2 since it takes less time and has better infra.

But is the crowd really bad in LC2 compared to CLC? What is the culture of goondas and politics, I want to stay out of all this, is it manageable?

I just want to focus on my studies, and don't care about politics or societies?

I took Karate lessons as a kid. The teacher was a biological woman. She often use to administer a kick on the back of any student who did anything out of order. The hardest I have ever been kicked, in eight years of learning Karate, by anyone, is by that adult, human female. I am myself a biological male, BTW. So please take your patronising opinions and shove them somewhere which, if mentioned openly, would require our worthy moderators to apply loads of redacting markers.

Since you have never ever recruited anybody, it is clear that you don't have the slightest idea how they think. No recruiter is concerned with people's CLAT rank, it's what is in their CVs, their interview performance that count. Including connections, of course. Most of your claims are clearly from a fertile student mind without any idea about the reality.

Title essentially. Every branch of this profession you can think of plateaus somewhere, and the one that does not i.e. practicing, keeps you dirt poor for the first ten years. Its a huge fuck up. Everything that's not practice would land you at your best earning no more than 5-6 crores a year (no less than 15 years PQE + you have to be a literal God at what you do) - and this is not enough for the amount of work that's required of us.

I had got the admission here...but cancelled it...just because law take admission through an exam and an interview doesn't mean it will offer you much... charging 4.11 lakhs (currently) a year for providing just the good looking infrastructure... talked with multiple seniors...and yes it is the seniorio that there isn't much placements...even for internships you are at your own majority of the time...for anyone who doesn't Care about monetary perspective and just want the degree of law and a good college in terms of facilities and everything then you can choose this college otherwise go for T2 NLUS or prepare again for CLAT if you think/want to do better for your self cuz in the end

I don't think it's a shadow war of any kind. At least, if there is, I'm not privy to it. Here's my assessment:

Justice Bela Trivedi had consistently given decisions which, in the opinion of most lawyers & students of law, could have had better legal reasoning. This includes things such as:

- Anticipatory bail should not ordinarily be granted in economic offences (Why? It goes against previous judgments) - https://www.barandbench.com/news/litigation/anticipatory-bail-should-be-granted-sparingly-in-economic-offences-supreme-court

- Not declaring a marriage as irretrievably broken down because the wife claimed she did not want to die with the label of divorcee - https://www.barandbench.com/news/supreme-court-rejects-89-year-old-man-plea-for-divorce

- Cancelling bails/refusing to grant bails in multiple matters where, primarily, it appeared that under trial custody is being equated as the punishment, with the assumption that the accused is in fact the convict.

But all that was still minor, compared to the manner in which lawyers were being treated. Not talking about the CBI inquiry, hardly any lawyer felt that order as being wrong. The other episodes: such as saying only one lawyer's appearance should be marked in the order. I remember one of the reason she had stated during the hearing was "this is how it is in district courts also" - why is the SC practice being decided as per what is followed in the district courts, god knows! Then it got worse. Getting angry one day because the arguing counsel was not an AOR. She said, wrongly, that is not permitted by the Supreme Court Rules, 2013, and was corrected when a senior advocate intervened and pointed out the correct provision to her. Then the entire episode concerning absence of an AOR because he was visiting his village. The senior advocate (and a former HC judge) stated that the AOR was indeed travelling to his village, yet, instead of believing the statement, she ordered the AOR to be personally present with the travel tickets - highly unusual for a court to direct for an advocate. Almost forgetting that the advocate is not the same as a party. And then when he appeared with the return ticket, she had some issues about the ticket from Delhi not being produced, as if the AOR could have travelled from his village to Delhi without leaving Delhi first.

More importantly, it was not just the content of these episodes, but also her tone, tenor & conduct during all this (and in other proceedings) - some harsh things are often accepted by the Bar when they come with a polite tone. But if they come with a harsh tone, too, of course there would be resistance.

And that is how a lot of lawyers felt disrespected. The farewell being something that lawyers give as a mark of respect, in return, I see it as no surprise that it was absent. This is my understanding of the state of affairs, and if someone else here is privy to some other information that sheds more light upon why there was no farewell, I'd be happy to stand corrected.

A0 Pay - 50k to 55k.

They tend to low ball you in salary negotiations. Not very nice and fair people that way.

People -

Associates - Competent people. Helpful. No toxicity amongst them. Approachable.

Partners - ▮. ▮▮▮ partners are crack in some or the other way here but irrespective I guess every human has flaws and they're not really the worst (I've seen worse so), it's liveable I guess. Most importantly, all SA's and partners (except kkp) are extremely knowledgeable, that's one solid plus point they have

Culture - A bit of a cult culture tbh. They can come off as hypocrites, they talk about integrity but clearly favouritism can be seen.

Work - Short timelines. High pressure. Long working hours. Corp team is majorly into debt transactions, that's their prime source of money. A lil bit of equity too but not really a very thriving practice on that side. They do have a class, it's not some chapri firm, they have some really good clients especially on debt side. I'd say matters wise it's definitely a T2, however pay wise it's a T3.

Policies -

They have started an initiative recently where every Friday they get on an all team call to discuss who all are having a 'working weekend' and they try to see if that can be avoided (if it's not a priority deliverable), and it really is working so that's something unique they're doing which no one else in the market is doing.

No work from home. On paper it's there but in actuality 99% times they'll reject your wfh request. They'll only allow it in extreme situation such as you've broken your leg or maybe a civil war breaks out.

Pay will always be on time.

Bonus (1 month salary that too is a variable component so no guarantee) will come in Diwali. They don't give bonus in March/April like all other firms. So if you quit after appraisal in April then you'll miss out on your bonus.

Mentorship - It's like they'll toss you into the water, if you somehow figure out how to swim then well and good, if you sink then well you sink. But they won't mentor you. Every day here feels like you're just barely managing survival somehow. Regardless it's a good learning experience, if you're not completely hopeless then you'll surely manage to learn some stuff atleast.

My overall review is that it's a fairly decent place nothing too good or much bad. If you work here even for an year or two, you'll have made a decent enough CV to get into good roles at better firms and companies.

Note of caution - They have a few dead matters wherein learning isn't much just that they pay well so KLA has them but otherwise the learning and growth for the lawyer isn't much. If you get them then you're screwed so be mindful of what they're making you do and if it's worth your time (which could have been spent on working on their other more interesting matters). Also, if you're not the bosses favourite, you'll suffer a bit.

I have gotten a rank of 111* in CLAT 2025 after the re-results. Just graduated from Class 12th, and I am so confused rn- should i take a partial drop, join a Tier 2 NLU(nluo, rgnul,hnlu), and then appear for clat again, OR should i take a full drop and prepare for clat all over again, without retaining my tier 2 nlu seat?

I have heard a lot of people in litigation talking about shifting to corporate law, however I have never seen anyone actually being able to transition. Has anyone here successfully transitioned from litigation to corporate? If yes, then how did you do it?

Also, what are the boutique law firms for Cap Markets or PE/VC in and around Delhi?
