Am 22, just took my MH CET exam, and I'll probably get into GLC. However, I want to explore my options in case I land in a Tier 2 college. I'll soon start my internship as well, I know an advocate who is getting me a good firm/senior to work for. Also, I'll keep working as an intern for all of my three years in college, maybe even as a paralegal, if such a position is offered to me.

I have worked for 5 years as a copywriter, and my communication + research skills are as good as anything, am confident about that.

So, advocates and lawyers in Mumbai, may I please get an honest answer to my question? Can I get a job at a Tier 1 or 2 firm? Any additional advice will be appreciated.

Agreed with the rest, especially with the Triumph 400s being beginner friendly but I just don't feel comfortable with someone who is new to riding (which OP is not) living with a 40+ bhp machine. As far as the bullet is concerned, its a pretty laid-back bike. You might want to try Triumph 660/R7 and figure out if you live for the performance-end as well.

Off-roading again is something you might consider. Maybe a Suzuki Vstrom 850 or even a Ducati Multistrada? From what I have heard, Multistrada is a gem of bike to be in the garage. Have never ridden one.

For your occasional rides, you also have your scramblers. You could even try out neo-cafe racers like Honda Cb650r, see how you like it. Options galore my friend :)

Whoever said that speed bikes is difficult to contain for women, it was a good take but a very crude take, regardless. The comment should have been more focused on a) the height of the rider, b) the capacity to lift heavy things by the said individual and c) the technique to do so. Indian women are generally shorter. I am a 5ft 6 dude and I am scared of owning an ADV although I love the format and this is despite knowing how to compensate for the height to an extent. Height plays a significant factor, so if you are on the taller side, you can check an ADV. They will open horizons for you (literally).

Since you have ridden pulsars, and if you have liked the format of sports bikes/nakeds, I humbly suggest the 660s by Triumph. You'll marvel at how amazing they are :) The new Hondas being launched are amazing too!

Hi, I wrote one of the big comments out there with the rather unromantic take on Aprilia. No it was not mansplaining. A 27M buying a Hayabusa would be equally bad. As another bike nerd mentioned, we have been in enough accidents to now respect the throttle.

Hayabusa is a nearly 200 bhp bike. Why on God's green earth would you want it to be used by someone who had a God-awful sense of riding bikes? OP has clarified that she is an experienced rider, which is good for her. Both the larger comments stress on experience and safety gears.

The guess on my part was because I have never seen someone ask for a choice between a cruiser-type bike and a superbike. Two very different bikes, with very different audiences. Can she buy either of them or both? Yes.

Some of the comments may be in bad taste, but we all love a female rider. The community can always benefit with more riders who are responsible and love their machines, no matter their cc. Besides, starting with a 150-200cc is a solid advice. Everyone feels they are a Rossi right until their tyres skid. And thanks to the electronic suite on lower-end bikes, people do not even bother with learning the basics. Please do ride and appreciate the lower cc bikes as a great starting point. And if you already do but still don't advocate to start small before jumping big, I have nothing to say to you.

Hello everyone, I'm currently preparing for the judiciary exams, but they've been put on hold due to a pending Supreme Court judgment. There's also speculation about introducing a 3-year mandatory experience requirement. Considering these uncertainties, I'm exploring alternative career options. I recently discovered that NISM has restarted its LLM program and I'm thinking of joining it. Can anyone provide insights on:

1. Is pursuing an LLM from NISM a good decision?

2. What are the placement prospects?

3. As a rookie , where should I start?

I'd appreciate feedback from NISM alumni, current students, or anyone familiar with the program.

This honestly feels like a stupid question 😭 but which one is preferred Nirma/ Tier 3 NLUS?? I've heard Nirma has an exchange program in place, how are it's reviews?? Are there any extracurriculars in Nirma as compared to newer NLUs and is there a disadvantage being from ILNU as compared to tier 3 NLUs who are still fairly new, but at the end of the day are a government college!

I am real estate lawyer in a tier 2 builder company, i have completed almost 2 years now after learning most of the work i am not sure if i want to continue. Should i switch to law firms or try for MBA in abroad as i want to settle abroad in the longer run.

Any advice is welcome from peers who have faced similar situations .

I work in real estate only, the hype is very real. They did really sell all of the units, most of the builders sell their inventory before the construction starts but looking at the magnitude of the trump towers they have completed the construction and are in the OC phase, the price is justified and so is the location.

Happy to endorse and echo every word of this. Have had an awesome senior. She and I knew each other while she was still at university and I was still at school, and had just begun thinking about higher education more generally, and law specifically. Even though she studied law at a different uni to me, she has been a guiding light throughout my law school years, despite being in a stressful law firm environment (while my ambitions were entirely different). While she and I were only acquaintances in prior years, we are now firm friends, and if you ever hear me talk about her, you will hear me say that I am 'fortunate enough'/'privileged enough' (or any other synonymous phrase to those) to call her my mentor and friend. If you can be like this for someone, you deserve some sort of huge medal of honour; you genuinely increase the quality of life of your juniours through inspiring them and helping them to learn. My thanks to all such seniors like this who are out there. Keep being you, you're just awesome.

Total - 18 lakhs (16.2 fixed + 1.8 bonus)

Fixed: This means 1.35 fixed per month subject to 10% TDS. So, after TDS, the amount that will hit your account every month will be 1,21,500.

Bonus: Heard A0s are joining in August. So you'll have worked for about 7 months until end of financial year - bonus will be prorated for 7 out of 12 months. Which means approx. 1.05L. After 10% TDS, approx. 95k will hit your account end of March (if getting full bonus - usually that is the case for A0s).

Over and above all of this, you may given a discretionary bonus (decided by your partner) of up to 1L (prorated for the months you've worked) based on performance. This bonus comes in July/ August if you are eligible for it.

Note that if you don't have any other income, you can claim a tax refund of all the TDS in your tax filing. This refund usually comes in July/ August of the subsequent FY.

I have been working in a T1. My partner is a really nice person. I was marked on a deal with him and I didn’t understand the transaction well maybe. Infact, I was not great with facts of it. It has been three months since I have joined.

Today I felt that my partner was disappointed at me. I am really scared. I hope he doesn’t ask me to leave. This is not the first time where I have not read well the documents of the deal.

1. Personal bad behaviour: Unnecessary yelling at people, generally unreasonable, unempathetic to people's circumstances, insensitive, unkind.

2. Professionally bad: Doesn't take interest in teaching juniour lawyers the ropes, is like that American law firm partner who told the London Times (on condition of anonymity) that the usefulness of juniour lawyers is little more than "bugger all" but doesn't help us understand how we could be more useful, humiliates people in front of their team, doesn't take responsibility when something goes heywire but expects his juniours to take the blame, expects 24 hour availability (while not necessarily reflecting that in his own schedule), doesn't stand up for his team and in any other way behaves like a terrible person.

terrible advice lol. OP, go for NLIU.

If you’re considering an education loan, NLIU is definitely worth it. Just imagine the networks, exposure, mentorship you’ll have at a Tier 1 NLU. If you do well in law school, you’ll definitely be able to repay the loan yourself. The opportunities at NLIU is worth more. go for it

I’m a second year NLSIU student, from Bangalore as well. Christ is simply not good.
