At all universities, it is an age-old practice for boyfriends to sneak into girls hostels by climbing pipes and parapets. The girlfriend never does so. How do voluntary single-sex hostels deny anyone freedom or autonomy? The couple was free to go home, rent a hotel etc., right? I don't deny Indian hostels have some archaic stuff going on but Jindal of all places?! Single-sex spaces exist for reasons other than stopping us from boinking. This might amaze you but not everything in life is about sexual intercourse. As a female student, I do NOT want to intermingle with Indian men post work and study hours. I don't want men sneaking in via suitcases either.

It’s not like Saudi Arabia or Pakistan to have sex segregated housing. Not all women are comfortable sharing living quarters with unrelated men. There’s reasons for safety, privacy and dignity. A few consenting women who want to have sec with their boyfriends cannot consent for everyone else.

If you want to live with your boyfriend - maybe just take a house on campus instead of throwing all the other women under the bus.

Sex is not a basic human right or a need. No one died because they didn’t have sex. You cannot enforce a “right to sex” by forcing someone else to have sex with you. At best sex is a want. Adults can want and do whatever they like with other consenting adults. But adults also know that there is a time and place for things. No one is demanding that their workplaces have rooms for sex now are they ? That’s what a university is - it’s just the place you learn. It’s an unreasonable burden on the university to demand they create separate rooms for you to have sex in. And even if they did - how would they know who to let in ? Would they be liable if something were to go wrong ? There are 17 year olds on most campuses- what to do about them ? Do they give parties a form to denote consent ? Do you remember the Jgls sexual harassment/rape case from a few years back where the young girl was being blackmailed ? What happens when someone catches a disease in the room?

Why should the university assume any liability for all of this when they’re not the ones engaging in the behaviour?

Bottom line : if you’re old enough and mature enough to have sex- you should talk to your parents and figure out how to do it safely. If you don’t even have the courage to do that- you’re being ridiculous demanding it as a basic human right. Maybe if you actually studied law instead of thinking about sex all the time you would see how ridiculous this is.

Hey everyone, I am in 2nd year of a tier-3 nlu.I have been confused about which path to choose in carrier,recently i had dawned myself with clearance that i would solely go for anything which would help me in settling abraod(Europe). Since law has very little scope as compared to engineering and mba folks in helping settling things abroad and me hailing from a tier-3 nlu,what would you all suggest me to start working on? I only have time in my hand, so it is a humble request to you all to guide me and give me your valuable inputs.

I was a troubled kid in college and if I had to depend on a college counsellor I'd have likely harmed myself more, not less. Counsellors are simply nowhere near as effective as a reliable, non-toxic student community. Students should fix their own issues first and work on being a fraternity instead of coming up with nonsense like "state health system" lol

not everyone's courageous enough to do what you're doing all the best buddy. Couple of things that you might want to do:

1. accomodation. Look for PGs/hostels in areas like Mukherjee Nagar (for students), Uttam Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, or Seelampur. Dirt cheap and full of others grinding it out. (Emergency accomodation: Gurudwara Bangla Sahib or others often provide temporary shelteror search for Search “Rain Basera near me”)2. food: langars at gurudwaras, community kitchenns like roti bank feeding india, you can also get 25 rupee meals at iskcon tempes idk if its a regular thing. Rajma Chawal and Chhole Bhature near Connaught Place, Kamla Nagar, or Karol Bagh at ₹30–₹50 per plate.

3.transport: Delhi is flat and walkable in short stretches. in any case, get dtc bus passes or metro passes. shared autos are also nice.

4. others: DU Libraries, Nehru Memorial Library, or the Central Secretariat Library -- quiet, free AC + WiFi + power outlets. Free Medical Aid at Mohalla Clinics.

5.hustle smart: Odd jobs, tutoring, content writing, Swiggy/Zomato delivery, or freelancing or cab driving/rapido rides before and after your litigation jobs. do anything to get started. Delhi rewards the relentless.

Hi I am working in M&A PE/VC team at a Tier 1 firm at A3 band, now I have realized I have genuinely have no interest in becoming a Partner. The law firm hours have affected my health physically a lot and the money and grind just doesn't seem worth it. I am earning in the range of 27-29 LPA at my current role, I am fine taking a bit of cut as well what opportunities do Gen Corp, M&A PE/VC lawyers have if they want slightly reasonable work-life. Inhouse seems the way to me however I know the nitty gritty of making switches within law firms and skills sets required for team specific roles. I am unsure how lateral hire at Inhouse level works, whom should I reach out. I would want to be working only in Corporate teams as unfortunately I have almost very limited knowledge wrt to disputes practice or litigation side of things. What kind of companies or places would be good ? Is making a switch from a Tier 1 law firm to Inhouse easier ? While negotiating the salary how much of cut should I be fine with ? Any help would be appreciated.
