What is the remuneration for someone with PQE 15 (including bonus). Asking as I wanted to compare it with what I was making in litigation. Some of the cons are that I am responsible for getting clients and doing most of the work + have to pay office rent, utilities, salaries, stationary, etc. and there is no bonus, whereas, the partners in law firms get a hefty bonus.

I have an average CV from a T2 NLU, in my 4th year, have done one T1 internship. I found law school quite boring and really enjoy interning, and thats where I shine. My area of interest is commercial disputes.

Are there any firms where my application will be accepted and there may be a chance at a PPO?

If not, how do I spruce up my CV in the very short period I am left with before hiring stops for my batch?

What are instructions of different firms (T-1/2/3) regarding interaction of A-0/1/2/3s with interns?

Like, are they allowed to freely give out work or are there specific instructions/SoPs/regulations in some firms regarding this?

Obviously any firm will hesitate in giving confidential work to interns.

What I am really looking to understand is–to what extent junior level associates can use interns as a resource?

No. Supervisors have to do internal assessments and moots are a part of that internal assessments in some courses for LLB/LLM/BALLB. So because your supervisor is busy there, you won't have a chance to do things.

Also, if you're taking a course and such extra curriculars are a part of the course, you'll have to do those extra curriculars.

I am in one of the state judicial services(not delhi).

I dont have much things on my CV fee internship, one or two moot and no publication as i was clear i wanted to do Judiciary. I am from Tier 2 NLU.

Problem is i dont want to anymore!! Can i switch to some Tier-1/Tier-2/Tier-3 firms in delhi in litigation department!! Can i make a switch !? Will they take me!? Thats the doubt!! How would the transition fold!?

I am fine with mediocre practice as long as i am litigating!

If this doesnt happen then i am also looking to switch to public policy!! Maybe experience as judge may count to something.

They are already accepting those with LLBs directly, why argue about 1-year or 2-year LLMs? It is irrelevant. Apply with your LLB transcript. Even JRF/NET is not mandatory.

This takes the total reservation to 70% in the state. Add the domicile quota for state universities as well - only ~15% of seats are available for general AIQ in NALSAR. Love this.

hey, I have an internship w Khaitan, but I can only schedule it for either September or December. I’m worried that they might not hire around that time (especially since I’ve heard that GC teams don’t recruit so late in the cycle)

Does anyone know about KCO’s hiring patterns? Would an internship in September or December be too late to be useful? Also, does their disputes team hire this late?

Many years ago, a a group of spoilt brat NUJS students from South Delhi got super drunk. They threw a barrage of glass bottles from the hostel onto the NIFT campus. It was late night so there were no students, but a guard at NIFT got injured and hit by he glass. The next day the NIFT admin complained. But in the end nothing happened because these were influential kids (one was the son of a judge) while the security guard was a poor person from a village.

Tearing hair, breaking glasses, kicking, vulgar MC-BC abuses … law skool gurls can get pretty wild. And they fight over boys as well, just as guys fight over girls. Even the Bishop Cotton fight was over a boy.

hello, I’m currently in my 4th year at a Tier 2 NLU (BO’26) and want to ensure I have a solid backup plan if I’m unable to secure a job by October 2025. After that, I plan to shift my focus toward alternative career paths.

I’m considering pursuing a master’s—LLM, MBA, or MA—and would appreciate insights on which might be a better option.

Specifically,

1. Do LLMs from the top 3 nlus (NLS, NALSAR, NUJS) significantly improve job prospects at law firms? I’ve rarely seen LLM students intern, so I’m unsure about their hiring trajectory.

2. Does an LLM from India primarily lead to academia, or are there meaningful firm opportunities?

point being, is doing an llm and giving clat ph worth it from a firm job perspective? Would love to hear your thoughts

I doubt if faculty come to know if they have any real impact today. Feedbacks are just numbers..Students fake niceties many times. But are very quick to complain etc. Being cool, funny or simply dressing up better garners more attention than knowledge.

I joined teaching two years back at an nlu and my mental health has taken a backseat. As a female, more admin work is dumped on me. Students dont care if I ve taught well. I have attended fdps to hone skills . I have excellent degrees..I write blogs, opinion pieces and i also get invited to teach in different forums. But I am disheartened to feel aloof as students only give respect to very strict or very cool teachers. I have decided to quit academia. It fulfils at no level.

Hope you are doing well. As most of you all would either be seniors in college or graduates from it, I wanted to ask a question I fear has grappled me and been a source of stress and downfall for me in past. I have seen rumours being spread about people and friend groups being broken and formed in the blink of an eye in law schools. I come from a small town in North india with no one in family or friends circle in law, I alone took this decision of doing law and cleared clat and ailet both.

I have a very people pleasing personality and I have been used or betrayed in past many times from friends which has lead me to form abandonment and fomo issues. These traits I fear would make my life much harder in law school as there would be people from all walks and opinions of life and i would just be left trying to mingle with everyone while not having a voice of own and a nobody, or, if I try to socialise too much with everyone I would be seen as annoying, or getting ignored if I try to say my points or while making friends. See, my fears might sound irrelevant but please give tips on how to not care about these things and just focus on academics and protecting my mental health in college. It would be a lot of help.

Don’t talk like an idiot. Pickle ball is not “unathletic”. There is a real chance of it entering the Olympics in 2032. The sport gives you a good workout. Maybe not as much as tennis, but comparable to badminton and certainly more than table tennis.

The reason it is popular is because it is not a very technical game, like tennis, and the basics are easy to learn. Also games are quite short.

It’s illegal in Iran to be gay - so they’ll transition you to the opposite gender if you want to marry the love of your life. Shall we start following that practice in India ?
