The other answer is right, its not very common for Dispute teams to be handing out offers. All 5 years, I interned at T2 law firms, Sr. counsel chambers etc. and faced a similar issue in my final year. I ended up changing my rudder from core disputes to another area of disputes because its better to have a job that pays you well and allows you to 'litigate'. Good Luck !

It is not the best option, but you can consider it since it is much better than being in a private college. The fees is really low as well. Faculty is good, but the administration sucks. Law faculty, in particular, can be really depressing at times. Still, choosing Jamia is a good option if you do not have the time to prepare for CLAT.

Reading these threads on LI, I feel anxious about how i will land up in a good law firm with a good package. I come from private law school which does not emphasizes on skills you need to get into a law firm. After reading your thread, the feeling of giving up has vanished a little tbh but I personally have found a ray of hope to work my way out. Even after 3 years of COVID, the situation is same with law firms. Not only law firms but with us as individuals too. as wee sort to blame firms for hiring in the basis of contact with do not polish the skills we need. Anyways, i wanted to thank you for giving the right knowledge which every law student needs.

This shouldn't be contested. The mere 'brand value' of universities around the world has decreased. As someone with experience of the job market outside India, I can tell you that, even in their countries, the mere 'brand value' of an Oxford or a Harvard just ain't enough any longer. You gotta have good grades from there and cool stuff of those contexts on your CV, too. It's a situation of if you work your buts off in those environments, you are pretty likely to be successful; if not, it might have been better never to have gone there in the first place. Similar for NLSIU.

im currently appearing for my boards and super confused what college to take. Hello. Internships in a law firm or chambers is a medium to give back to the community. No useful work is accomplished out of the intern. But, it is relevant and required to afford the intern an opportunity to see how the profession truly functions. Many a time especially in firms/chambers that are busy and have a demanding practice, the personnel are far too busy servicing their clients and handling their matters. The intern and his/her requirements are the least important item in the workplace. I suggest you request your team to allow you to attend all meetings/calls that they are engaged in, to enable you to understand how they function and the smorgasbord of different tasks involved. Expecting the average busy professional to take out precious billable hours to mentor you - perish the thought my young friend. All the best.

I would like to know counsels having a good tax practise (indirect tax to be specific) and NCLT practise. I am passionate about indirect tax, corporate and insolvency laws. However, it’s hard to find counsels specialising in both as most as senior counsels who have a wide array of practise and I would rather focus on those 2 practises I mentioned earlier. Good work and work-life balance are my criterias

In a day's time, it will officially be 3 months since the first allotment list for the CLAT 2025 batch was due. As of now, only two out of the five appealed questions have been amended. The majority of hearings seem to be centered around clubbing cases or postponing dates. Back in January, I too stood alongside the judiciary, telling the people around me things like, "We aren't the only ones facing issues," and "We are a country of more than a billion people, the judiciary have a ton of cases to handle." But now, I can't bring myself to say that anymore. At this point, it's hard to see any clarity in the process. They’re supposed to release 5 allotment lists (if they even plan to do that) in 3 months, assuming the March 3rd hearing actually resolves anything. It's incredibly frustrating. They began the counselling process with an answer key that clearly contained multiple errors, they collected Rs. 20,000 from thousands of students, and left us in the dark with no answers.

Again it makes you think about what started it all, The question paper. The consortium took Rs. 1,000 from tens of thousands of students in grievance appeal money (mind you, with distinguished jurists involved), yet failed to correct a question that was undeniably wrong—no two ways about it. It took the court to step in and clarify, "Bhai yeh 11th waale ka answer D ho hi nahi sakta, C hai' (English, Question number 11, Set B [^]) "

Everyone said "CLAT ka padhle, achchi rank laakar boards dega na kuch pressure nahi lagega" and I did that. I DID study for CLAT the entire year, skipping all my pre-boards, I DID get an achchi rank and yet I wake up everyday in uncertainty and anxiety, unsure about what will I do in the future even after doing all that gadha-majhduri.

The only thing positive that I can think of this time is that, after all this is over, the consortium will hopefully get on the right track again and set a decent, controversy-free paper for the CLAT 2026 aspirants. But mera kya? Example banane ke liye why sacrifice my mental health and that of thousands of others? Couldn’t this entire mess have been avoided if they had simply reviewed the paper properly? And by "review," I mean just handing it over to any aspirant three months into their prep, and they could’ve easily told you which one is marked incorrectly and which isn't.

I realize this may come across as a pointless rant, one that many will likely scroll past, but it’s hard not to feel that this situation is utterly unfair. We’re all just expected to "sit tight" and "hope for the best," while the consortium continues to drag its feet. All props to Aditya (the person who filed the appeal in court regarding the questions) There's finally someone who's bringing to light the absolute shithousery consortium has made out of CLAT and I think even though the lists are getting delayed, we should all stand with him and encourage him because only then will the consortium be held accountable for this mess.
