We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

-which other firms are following suit?
-is the freeze location/team specific or all over?
-is it expected to improve?
- an a bit off topic but what should be the general timeline for aiming a PPO?
Thanks!
Arun karthik mohan & avinash krishnan I heard have these areas of practise, more details would be helpful
I'm aware that the transactions team is separate.
Just take a drop and focus hard on cracking clat.
It is a cutthroat market and yeah you will struggle more than a NLU kid in getting the same opportunities.
That's undeniable, it's same in other fields too. It's not like ppl in tech who are successful are all from IIT but being from a premier government college does give you a headstart/better alumni etc.
Same with law, not all successful lawyers are from NLUs, infact most of the "successful" practicing advocates in the country are not from NLUs at all. Success is a personal thing and you need to define what success is for you? Is it 12lpa or 1cr or 5cr or a decent work life balance?
Bear in mind, in litigation no one cares about your law school.
It's a tough journey but are you "cooked"? Idts
I'm in a similar boat and while the prospects are bleak ultimately you can work your way into law firms (if that is your goal). Obviously you'll reach A0 a couple of years after graduation and after upskilling, meanwhile a comparable NLU kid would be A0 on graduation.
You need to see your pros and cons and decide. I don't think private colleges are worth it frankly and I'm from one of them. I'd honestly would rather have done a 3 yr LLB from DU compared to a 5 yr course from a private college.
You can compensate for the non NLU tag by making up good work experience, good publications and obviously side courses/degrees like CS which is doable side by side w law school.
Itna logically toh sochna chahiye.
Ps - Please do not suggest Judiciary or UPSC as unless I start any further education, my liability for installments will start immediately after my graduation and I will again have to revert back to finding a job as the pay in litigation will not be enough for even sustaining myself let alone pay off such liability. I will appreciate any kind of advice that all the learned members of this community can pour in.
Again, it is a tricky definition, but letβs make a wide sweep and describe the middle class as anybody who would normally have some surpluses to spend on something more than basic subsistence, which includes food, childrenβs education, housing, health and basic mobility.
It is that wide class, ranging from, say, those earning Rs 12 lakh to Rs 5 crore per annum that is simply sitting back and hurting. They arenβt rich enough to emigrate legally along with assets, are taxed at high rates, and have also seen their investments lose value over the past year. Fun fact: the richer among them, say those earning Rs 2 crore and above, pay almost twice as much tax by percentage of their incomes as the top corporates or multi-billionaires.

2. Yes. No.
3. Yes among those who do. Not really.
4. Meh, does not matter. Yes if it is expensive.
Thank you.
