NUJS nri quota is very possible for you. IMO, you should come here if you can afford it. It hurts your pocket initially but you'd realise the benefits after 5 years. Although even if you do end up with a job, it'd take you 2.5-3 years of work to earn as much as you'd have spent on your fees, as compared to NLUO where if you do managed to get placed, it's less than a year. But again, getting placed in NLUO is tough, only about 10% of the batch manages to.

Think of your finances and make the choice. Again, if money isn't a big deal NUJS it'd be. And I don't see the confusion about Jindal. If you can afford to pay that much, should NUJS NRI be an obvious choice?

I am a final year law student from Gurgaon and want to get into litigation. I am slightly confused if I should begin by practicing at the Punjab HC or the Delhi HC. Reasons for which I want to practice in the former:
1) Owing to high pollution and population congestion I plan on leaving Delhi and practicing in Delhi might not make that a possible avenue.
2) Ive heard that competition in Delhi HC is really bad so Its relatively easier to make a mark in the Punjab HC

I have little to no contacts in both the places, being a first generation lawyer, I will have to start from scratch at either of them.

Any help in deciding which one to go for would be great!

There are many low rankers who did better later in their life. If you have potential, then you can achieve what you aspire to. There are many losers who keeps flexing the banner of their rank but did nothing through out their college tenure. They have nothing to justify their lose except for their rank. Guys clerkage is an old school term used for administrative costs. It goes for the running of the office, while the fees are the remuneration of the lawyer themselves. It covers clerk salaries, junior salaries, office running costs. Some have done away with it by simply keeping their fee high and not creating a bifurcation. Don’t be obtuse.

Clerkage is charged at the time of filing. The payment is made directly to the clerk. It includes everything from mere tying of the matter, to removal of objections. Getting pages typed, if illegible/ handwritten. Getting papers from the department- this includes HAVING to take 'care' of the department peons. Imagine if your stay is running out, matter is due to be listed, but suddenly your papers are not traceable. The clerkage will look like a small amount on closer inspection.

Matters are dismissed for non-removal. If some persons are finding it obnoxious to pay clerkage fees, just consider the restoration expenses. This is a whole fresh application for which your Advocate, whether the same person, or a new one, will charge you afresh. Also yes, again pay clerkage. No clerk is going to work for free.

A good number of filing clerks themselves work WITH (important word, 'with', not FOR) numerous Advocates.

Clerkage fees are NOT junior's fees. These are charges paid to a separate individual who is needed to do almost everything possible to ensure your matter reaches the court, for listing, at least.

So I gave my Clat this year, and I have a rank which can easily land me any tier 3 nlu and I might be able to get some tier 2 if I wait more than enough.... Apparently the GIFT city gives an advantage to GNLU and it is bound to grow in coming years for sure

NLUJ on the other hand it's own perks (moots and other competitions along with single rooms are definitely a perk apart from the huge campus) but have heard it is just too hectic and in past some years have not been so good and idk where the new VC is going to take it , but the it definitely has another slight difference being in Jodhpur as Kolkata and Gandhinagar are huge cities and the mess system is also costly

Regarding NUJS (considering it is in top 3) a good alumni base but not so sure about other things but have heard the hostels are going to be a headache especially for girls

If you can afford to, I'd suggest NLUJ through NRI. I am not sure about the fees, it's probably about 35L, but is definitely cheaper than NUJS and GNLU NRI. It does make sense to go there, since your chances of getting placed are higher. You already are in a law school and know a bit of law, so you'd start to get decent grades from the beginning, where most students mess up. Your rank stays good, you get placed, you earn well. The chances of these happening in NLUJ are much higher than any of the other options.

NLUO is still fine. But Shimla, Prayagraj and all are an absolute no. Waste of both your time and money. Better to stay at SLSN and word hard and intern continuously than to go to one of these and waste a year of yours and end up where you already are

At least 10 associates have left the team in a year because of the lady in question. Her only claim to fame is her proximity to the equity partner who is happy with her since she's a cheap resource.
