The fact is that NLS is better. But your age is a big factor. If you think that you'll carry a lot of mental weight of your age and responsibilities in the 5 yrs at NLS, then leave NLS, because it's all in the mins. And I am not aware of any real employment opportunities after LSR, esp pol science, though you might get into political consultant organisation and they will pay you well and it might save you a lot of years, but then the money and prestige you'll potentially get after graduating from NLS is unmatched.

Another factors that you should consider is that being a lawyer you'll have no work life balance, in whatever field you go ( source:Trilegal's recent podcast). But being a political consultant you'll probably have a decent balance. Atm what you should consider is what kind of life you wanna live.

Any good paper has results on a bell curve and CLAT in particular would want to test you on your speed and ability of comprehension as well as your general awareness. Now let’s say Student A is way better than Student B at all the above metrics but there are no questions on that level or challenging enough to test this particular aspect of the student. They are reduced to the same level and privy to the same silly mistakes and what not and hence have an equal chance to get in. Furthermore there is an aspect that the questions have reduced to 120 ( even less after removing wrong questions) so the questions are terrible and bad as well as there’s too little of them to meaningfully test anything. All I’m saying is this analogy between student A and B applies as a generalisation to thousands of CLAT test takers. The top 100 in JEE Mains and JEE Advanced is completely different given the relative easiness of the latter compared to former. Now imagine if JEE advanced did not exist and JEE mains was reduced to 10th standard board PCM and the number of questions were reduced considerably . A physics olympiad finalist and good student only at the tenth grade would be put at the same level and would you really say it’s the fault of the latter not to get selected. The consortium is acting in a Marxian equalising mediocrity manner

Members of NLUO's Moot Society are allowed to participate in intra-university moot court competitions – many of those representing in top-level competitions are members of the society. It can simply be the case that those passionate about mooting join moot court associations and also perform better in intra-moots because of their passion (obviously does not apply to everyone) hence, the overlap ¯\(ツ)/¯

I was in the same boat as you where I resigned from a T1 after barely 3 months of working. But to be fair I have 4 year work experience before that. However the burn was so bad, that I needed 2 years to recover from anxiety and burnout and was unemployed as total of 3 years. As on today, I am back in Mumbai and working at an MNC in their legal team at a decent designation. If you won't live, none of this would matter. Provided you have the financial backing and no loans to repay, please consider resigning. Take care

I dont think you mentioned the gender of the person, just keep the gift card generic.

Artificial plants, high end chocolates, wine / booze (if they drink), spa voucher, personalised stationery - like even a diary with their name on it, (x mas theme) accessories like cufflinks / tie / socks, gifts for their pet if they have one. Please do not give personal items like clothing. Even jewellery for women is a bit weird if it comes from some rando. Hobby related items are risky cuz they would already have more sophisticated things with their specialist knowledge and budget beyond the 3k.

I am really angry about this. So basically my university due to some technical glitch (portal) kept the attandance limit to 0% for sitting in the end term exams. This makes me furious because being in final I had to attend the college that to at 8 am in morning for the entire just because of fearing of getting debard instead I knew if this was gonna happen I would have doing internships. Should I report this to UGC as the university has violated the rule 75% attendance rule and allowed everyone to sit in the exam even the ones with 0% attandance. Even in the final semester they are giving no exceptions for internships and then they think we can compete with nlu students who are doing internships in the entire last year of their college.

Just got an offer at A3 at the Bombay office. Fixed component is around 19.5-21 and total is maximum 24 (which is less than what even an A2 gets paid at any other firm, so there’s that) plus 8% component. Now the 8% will only be beneficial if you work with a high earning team like a Jay Gandhi or Vikram, otherwise you’ll end up earning WAY less than your peers at the same level. All the best.

The initiative is a positive one. However, this still means that we as a nation are at the mercy of unscrupulous private for-profit companies masquerading as publishing houses, who do not pay anything to authors, researchers or reviewers, but instead make huge sums of money from such subscriptions, and use a fraction of that money to ensure that rankings and perceptions will be dependent on publishing in the journals that they produce. Anyone who is a part of Indian academia will know what kind of a racket is being run now in the name of academic scholarship. Any author would happily email to you a copy of any of their papers if you ask for your own research or reading. Why do you think that same paper should cost a huge sum to read then?
